I am glad I found your channel. A lot of very helpful videos and this one especially helped. I didn't know the difference between and condenser mic and a dynamic microphone, now I do.
Hey! Thanks for a great video! So I wanted to ask, which mic should I choose between Moano PM421 and PD200X? My use case is for an interview-type remote podcast over Zoom, and my room isn't well soundproofed like yours. Background noise isn't too much from outside, except for a ceiling fan and A.C. Also, can I plug and play PD200X directly into my PC, just like PM421, without using an audio interface? The prices I'm getting in my region are really good - $50 bucks for PB and the same for PM mic as well. I'm aware that overall dynamic mics are better for podcasts than condenser mics as you said, but please help me out! The ones you recommended are expensive here to get so!
thx God to find your video. i had and have condensers mic for voice over in my untreated room. i thought my audio interface or mics are not good cause i ddinot have well sound recorded for my warm male voice! i spent extra money. but now i think i have to bought dynamic mic. do you think a dynamic mic can give best sound to me to use for "emotional" or news form clips and video for instagram and youtube ? (i mean warm and clear with live nice sound, not dead one)
Yes, unfortunately many blogs and things recommend a condenser mic without any consideration for the room. You could try positioning the mic much closer and turning the input level down, and putting a wind shield over it. That might help if you're not in the position to get a new mic. Bare in mind though that bad dynamic mics do exist, but yes it is easier to get a warmer, closer sound with a dynamic for dialogue recording if the room isn't treated.
@@JoeAtClaricast thx for answer, i changed my mic with at2035 (for filming) and shure sm57 for voice overs that dont need video. thx God i like sm57 it works well. if you have any other idea i will be happy to hear...

Thanks, it's a game changer - the dynamic/condenser difference.
