For the moms ... Normal sudoku rules apply. Digits along an arrow sum to the digit in that arrow's circle. A purple line contains a set of consecutive digits, in any order. Adjacent digits on a green line must have a difference of at least five. Any set of three adjacent digits on an orange line must have one digit from each of the following sets: 123, 456, 789. Digits on a red line must have a value between the values of the digits in that line's circles. Box borders divide a blue line into segments with equal sums. Digits joined by an X sum to 10; digits joined by a V sum to 5. Digits joined by a white dot must be consecutive; digits joined by a black dot must be in a 2:1 ratio.

He often forgets the easy win when placing a digit, just look up and down / left and right. But no Marks is going to the check something very difficult which it not solving the obvious…. It annoys me a lot. On the other hand I cannot solve the sudoku at all…..

That moment of panic, and then relief when you remember Mother's Days in other countries are not the same as your own.
Other than that, an excellent puzzle. 🙂

I finished in 43 minutes. This was a quite puzzle with some cool logic bouncing around the grid. I was stuck concentrating on the arrow and entropic lines, when I should have focused on the german whisper. Seeing it affect the arrow from across the grid was incredible. Great Puzzle!

Made it all the way to the end and ran into a large deadly pattern. Then I found a mistake I had made WAY back. After rewinding and trying again, I finally finished after 70 minutes.

This is a very creative and colorful puzzle design - it does look like a greeting card, as you said, Mark. I love the solve, too. There were so many places to look that you could not look everywhere at once. Though a couple of commenters seem to have noticed things that you "missed," it seemed to me that you were looking elsewhere. Particularly on these puzzles with lots of markings in the grid, we as viewers have the luxury of focusing our attention on anything at all, while you are focusing your attention on what you are thinking about. Thus, if you are moving along, making deductions, pencil-marking, etc., I never feel that you are "missing" anything. Just because I happen to see some particular digit that could be filled in does not mean that you did poorly not to fill it in at that moment. I love your videos - thanks for doing them every day.

Surprisingly well designed❗ I can see seriously smart *artwork* here. It is not easy at all to obtain such and so many beautiful and smart interactions when you need to write letters or draw some pretty image with lines. Each different kind of line (including of course the arrows) seems to be carefully and masterfully selected to create cool interactions with the others, and they are masterfully "powered" by the kropkys.
    👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

We're not picky on terms in the USA. Pick any of mom, mum, mommy, ma, or mother offhand, and there's probably more terms in other parts of the country that I'm not aware of, or that I've forgotten in thinking about it for 10 seconds.

Why is the rule that "the digits on the purple line don't repeat" often not written in the rules of the last couple of puzzles but this rule is still applied during the solve? I always really really love Mark's and Simon's solves and I don't know what I would do without their daily videos, so thank you so much for that, but my perfectionist brain tries to solve the sudokus exactly according to the rules.

I'm usually not this frustrated on Marks solves, but this is so horrible :D How many times did he thing about box 3 1/3 pair, when there's already 1 on column 9. Also he figured out early that if black dot on row 6 is 4/8, you must have 9 on the between circles, but he's missing so long that there's 9 on row 7.

I think most of us (not all of us) does the same or worst, but we do not have the good fortune of having viewers ready to warn us. So, rather than being *horrified* by Mark's occasional mistakes, I envy and enjoy everything else he does, except when he gets bogged down *for ages* by his own mistakes or intricate notation. In that case, I just stop watching, but almost always I give a 👍 because he typically feautures beautiful puzzles.
Others may love watching his epic struggles, even when they are due to bad scanning or notation.
