    Decius did more than say that Caesar would look weak if he didn't go to Capitol. He twisted the true meaning behind Calpurnia's dream into a way that would please Caesar (essentially telling him something he'd want to hear because he loves to be flattered). That's when Caesar makes the final decision that he is going to the Senate and then feels stupid about believing what Calpurnia had said.

    • @ash-ot2bo
      @ash-ot2bo 7 лет назад +23

      Yes, Caesar's wife's dream was of Caesar's STATUE pouring blood and THE ROMANS BATHING IN IT. Then Decius twisted the dream's meaning by saying the blood bathing represented the Roman's being revived in Caesar's good blood! That part was left out for all of you with crazy teacher's, like mine, that make crazy hard tests everyone fails!!

    I've noticed a couple of loopholes. There was no mention of how Antony pretended to praise the conspirators and seemed scheming in his soliloque. The will of Caesar during Antony's speech was doubted to be forged by Antony to trick the populous, as he asks to "bring me Caesar's will" to a servant after he has read it. Also, the point of Antony and Octavius arguing with each other to foreshadow future conflicts between the two, and to make the two seem ambitious and fighting over power and the last word.

    I wouldn't say that Julius Caesar's death was exactly his fault by his"arrogance". It's believed that he actually knew about the conspiracy and went through his death on purpose.I honestly believe this is correct because Julius' life was pretty messed up through a time:He was sent to war a lot, he was old and also suffered from epilepsy.Julius was very VERY smart, yes arrogant a little but still I admit I would go through the assassination.

      I am failing to see the logic in your assesment:
      >Try to be a king

      >Have a change of heart in the final moment because muh cause
      >Get your sickly pleb nephew to be your successor
      >Pleb nephew is klls your own son and children of your other Side Hoes
      >He dies without a successor
      >Children of your nephews enemy and the Opium addict guy who does your dirty jobs inherit the throne
      >They fk up hard, after bunch of ok to bad Julio-Claudian emperors another civil war starts
      >A random exiled senator (who was popular amongst the Senate because he was a funny guy) conquers Rome.
