This is just beautiful. The colors and pattern choices are perfect for being wearable fashionable. The shirt dress and faux jumpsuit are my favorites. I would never wear a jumpsuit but doing up separates in one fabric is brilliant.
I'll never tire of your modules! I'm happily working on my first one, I have two of the pieces finished, and hope to get two more done this weekend. I loved all of your makes, and the outfit combos, everything looks fantastic! I do think that with your expertise, it's a fabulous service to the sewing community to do tutorials. I know how to do lots of things, but we want to encourage beginners, and you can do that. Also, your sewalongs are nice. I like video sewalongs for company, even if I don't need the instruction on every step.
That’s a good point. I often have sew alongs on in the background just to have something to listen to, but you also never know when you might pick up another great tip!
Another great module. Love what you did with the 2 piece outfits. Never get tired of seeing your modules and the planning of them. I have a Workshop pattern so I will be happy to see how that module comes together and your experience with their patterns. I am excited for your upcoming tutorials too! So much fun content. Thanks Whitney!
Love the kimono style top and skirt and the jacket is so cute!! I like the cream skirt, however i think it would be more flattering with the pleats stitched down to hip length. You have great taste tho and an eye for what suits you!! Love your videos!!
LOVE all your pieces! My favorite is the Simplicity wrap top. It looks so flattering on you and you can tell with all these makes just how good they make you feel! That is priceless!😊👍❤
I love the patterns and fabric selections - so interchangeable, well thought out and so lovely for work and play! I also like the full view as you model front, side and back views - very important, especially for advanced beginners. I’ve just returned from Japan and am on a 14 day self-quarantine so am planning spring/summer outfits and will create beautiful clothes while I work at home. Thank you for your inspiration! You are awesome 😎
Oh my goodness!! My entire city is pretty much quarantined as of today so I will be sewing right along with you. I’m thinking, starting tomorrow, of just filming a daily vlog of my quarantined sewing adventures!
Whitney, I love this Minerva module on you. The patterns and the fabric choices are perfect for you. One of my favorite pieces in this module is the pleated skir, it made everything you paired it with pop. The idea of creating a module makes evvrything come together so nicely. Whitney I look forward to your vlog post, they are fun and full of useful information. I plan on making a few pieces from your module. Keep vlogging .
Hi! Anna-Marie here. Love this very organised way to sew. Everything works very well together now and moving forward.I would love to see any workshops on remaking 80's and 90's patterns current. Love to see you use the module idea for your daughter and possibly for your husband. I have used the module idea when I make my husband"s clothes and he just loves everything I make for him. My daughters love everything I make them and also my granddaughter. I am working now on the clothes we will wear next month in PA.,and later in Florida. Another workshop to think about might be sewing in a seperating zipper in a jacket or coat along with making a jacket or coat. What do you think? let me know. See you Friday.
Could you possibly consider doing a step by step turtorial on how to interline a coat. Everyone tells how to line a coat but not interline it. What’s the difference in it? I loved your blue jacket . It’s simple but elegant
The two-piece dress is my favorite, cut and fabric, and you look great in the plum tee. Really looking forward to the upcoming color palette.Love your bias tie finish and always love a paisley. The faux jumpsuit is fabulous. The Brando jacket is very cool and you've put together some great looks with it. As always so many great looks. Thank you!
Whitney, your are so inspiring! I’m going to try the Seamwork bodysuit and the Edie top. Thank you for your videos. I’m super excited to see the Sewing Workshop video because I’ve always thought her patterns were just not very attractive. I’m eager to see & hear your take on them.
Whitney.....oh my gosh...you nailed it! I love all of your makes, but I especially love the jacket. Would it be possible to do a tutorial on the jacket? Your enthusiasm inspires me to buy more patterns, fabric and of course to sew!
Unfortunately, because the jacket is from an independent designer i can’t do a sew along, but they do a ton of stuff on their blog and I believe have a sew along over there for this jacket!
It makes sooo much sense to sew this way. That way whatever is in the wardrobe goes together. You don’t have to worry about certain items being in the wash. I love the colour palette you chose too xx
Love what you have put together. Everything just flows together seamlessly. I look forward to your channel each week. I am looking forward to the Fall series.
I love your modules and all your makes! I'm also looking forward to seeing the videos you mentione din your plans! Especially the 'vintage' pattern ideas.
All the makes are wonderful! Could you maybe include a muslin, fitting, & alteration process for your sister’s coat? The fitting & alteration process would be great to see.
That was such fun Whitney, love this way of sewing. That is such a great way to have a closet on those busy mornings when I am trying to get out the door to work. Enjoyed this, I think my fav is the paisley separates but I must confess that paisley is my absolute favorite print. I like it on drapery, upholstery, you name it. xx J
Once again, a great look book! I particularly love the floral wrap top with the cream skirt. The moto jacket is amazing! Your plans going forward sound great, though for the record, you can’t do too many modules for me. 🤗
Love all your makes, colours look good on you. Can please cover when you are doing shoulder pads, how to create more room when yourr shoulder fills the space for a shoulder pad in the jacket. Looking forward to your coatmaking. Thanks
Hey Whitney! There is a bias binding attachment for the Coverpro that you can feed both neckbands and folded fold over elastic right on the the garment pretty perfectly every time. It is the finest thing on earth to do. The Janome one is pretty expensive , but you can get knock off ones pretty inexpensive. There are a lot of good videos too, they are fun to watch as well. Check out the one in Sew Essentials. It’s because if that video that I bought my cover pro. I also have another one hat fits my Pfaff sewing machine. I’m not implying you can’t learn, it’s just kind of a convenient shirt cut. Have a look at the videos and you see what I mean in saying it looks fun.
Whitney, I’m going to try the Dana Point blouse to hack into a dress...but really liked yours paired with pants to look like a pantsuit. I may need to alter my plans or make a second set!
I got that idea from Karina at Lifting Pins and Needles. She posted a video of her Dana Point dress hack. It looks like she also used bias to trim neckline and arms instead of full lining, including adding the grown on front button placket.
oh my goodness, love all of these pieces and the colors are just beautiful. Must make the Brando jacket, have been wanting a Moto style jacket for some time. Not sure what that name means but want one. Pretty Fabulous!!
People on ebay love to call 90s and 80s stuff vintage, but no, I think most of the vintage community would say it has to be 60s or earlier to be vintage. Some might go further and say 50s or earlier, with 60s being retro. I love your capsule. I wish I was a planner rather than an ad hoc sewist.
I love them all! i think the wrap top and matching skirt are my favorites. I don't get along too well with zippers so a tutorial on that would be great!
Just got in from walking the dog and sooo excited to watch this. I’m trying to fit the Vogue 9075 bodice (second muslin) and need a break. Beautiful colours and the pinks will look lovely with browns (and teals) in the Autumn - isn’t your mimi g moto jacket brown? From a selfish point of view I’d love you to show fitting a princess bodice........
Cute! Beautiful! Very fashionable. Is there anything you don't look good in😉 I usually have one or two extra love favorites, this time..too hard to pick . All are fabulous!👏❤
Love the grouping and how they all interchange with each other. I was wondering if you made the neck seams a little wider, maybe the bra straps wouldn't need to be adjusted so often? I have to do that with my sleeveless items.
Are you referring to the paisley top? It really needs a racer backed bra, but I wasn’t wearing one and didn’t want to change 😂. I was fiddling with that quite a bit while filming. Sorry about that!
Thanks for explaining a module. I'm a new subscriber and I needed to know. I have a lot of things in my closet but most of it doesn't go with anything. Very frustrating, so I'm like you in that I need a cohesive closet :)
You have picked such lovely colors for your modules and it's so inspiring. You've given me a direction (which was sorely lacking) with your module information.. I'm ready to dump 95% of my closet and start again. :-)
Also I’d happily listen to you discuss the patterns and how you found them in more detail. As in not just your lookbook but pattern reviews. Just an idea for vlogs.
Well done Whitney! The outfits look so cute together; the cranes print wasn't initially my jam when you first showed it in the fabrics video but I like how it turned out together :)
I wouldn't naturally have thought about a Paisley print for both a top and bottom but it's fun yet also sophisticated. I like the retro vibe of your striped dress too. I just got a 70's shirt dress pattern and am hoping to be able to grade it up to fit. If you have experience with that kind of pattern manipulation I would definitely appreciate tips and tutorials. Thanks for sharing.
I just watched your July 9, 2019 look book - I LOVE your new hair color!! It really does flatter you so well. Not that the lighter was bad - but comparing like I just did - wow, you have done well! This module is great and so was that one :)
@@TomKatStitcheryMe too, lol! You have totally inspired me to go back to my natural color :) Also - I am thankful you talked so much about having your colors done in the last few weeks or so. I am just now going to take the plunge into modules as a way to create a better wardrobe! Thanks so much for all you do in bringing good quality videos to us! I love your presentations!!
Love this module, I bought the minerva fabric and made a v neck top with culotte pants. I love the moto jacket, do you think it would work with a ponte? You do such a great job explaining your makes.
You are so inspiring! Love all your makes, the wrap tops are my faves as we have similar body type. You use a fair number of knit fabrics. How do you tell which ones will pill or not pill? I had my colors done in January 2020. I did a video around the time where I talk through it all! It's really funny for me to look back at old footage (especially when I was still blond) as I can really tell a difference!
You looked really gorgeous in the matching two piece!😊👍 The wrap top and skirt, with the blue? base material with the flowers on it.❤️ The bright printed fabrics really suit you! Sure thing and, yes, my Mimi G Moto jacket is dark brown!
Good call on that jacket color, goes with a lot.
Thank you! I agree!
Cute! Beautiful! Very fashionable. Is there anything you don't look good in😉

Britain style top! I really like it what was the pattern name on this one?
It’s the Edie top by Sew Over It. It’s part of their Work To Weekend ebook. It’s my favorite boatneck top pattern.
I really like these outfits. I am working on a capsule wardrobe and this just fits right in with that idea. Do you have any bra making tutorials? I would really like to learn to make a bra that actually fits me right. Being large chested is hard to find the right fit.
