Update 12/16/23: Due to so many people sharing their stories and looking for community, I have launched the LTM Network on facebook! If you would like to connect with other people looking for encouragement/support or just want to share your story: facebook.com/groups/ltmnetwork/
Christy, I know there's nothing that I can say, or do, to make this any better for you. I just want you to know I'm here for you. As healthcare providers, we both know that a positive attitude is so important to a person's recovery. You have stayed positive throughout this journey. All any of us can do is take things one day at a time. Feel free to reach out if you just want to talk, vent, or maybe even share a few laughs. I'll be here to support you in any way I can.
You and your husband have beautiful souls! I discovered your channel just a few days ago and binged them all. Anyone who has truly watched and listened knows you don’t do this for attention!! I for one want to thank you for sharing this very difficult journey you and your family have been on. I think you need to do a makeup tutorial video. I love the way you do your makeup!
I hope you enjoyed the sewing class! It can be an excellent distraction and making things is fun. Your videos are wonderful and I'm so impressed with how you're mastering all the tools you need to make them. You and Lee are tremendous examples of caring human beings and EMS professionals, who are vastly underpaid.
Loads of love and positive energy is coming your way!!! You've got this Christy. You are not alone in this journey! You've got a whole community of new "friends" and "family" behind you!
My family and I pray for a healing miracle for you. We know first hand the difficulties of chronic medical conditions, life threatening events and the long term trauma living with them inflicts on the person who is Ill and those who love them.
My son also fractured C1 in a motor cross accident. His oldest brother was on the squad that day. My son also survived that fracture that should have killed him! I love your videos, your stories, and your inspiration on life! Prayers for your healing!
Lady you are so courageous! Prayers for all you need! The crochet is such great therapy for me. I'm sure it's a lifesaver in rough days. Keep focused on your dreams of things to keep your mind busy. ❤️
You have every right to feel optimistic , you survived an accident few survive. Everything is looking upward since that day You may not feel that but I hope you do
You were so critically injured & have been through so much. Acknowledge that, and allow yourself to grieve the losses you’ve had to deal with. Life has changed dramatically for you. Sometimes the gravity of the situation hits you, and you need some time to process that. You’re not click bait, you’re a walking miracle, and a warrior. Sending you lots of healing thoughts .
I too Christy feel so deeply for you and as a stranger who lives far away in Canada I can’t physically pop over with some flowers or soup but I just want to say you are in my thoughts and prayers. Don’t be too hard on yourself, you have done everything as you were suppose to so take some time to just rest if you can….you’ve been traumatized and no one, unless they have been through exactly what you have been through, can really comment but we care and want to help in some way. I love stories so enjoyed the night you and Lee talked about some of your past job experiences. I love the interaction between you two…the love is palpable! So ….I’m glad you started this channel , love your diy and crafting …hang in there and all my best….
It's ok to be scared or to feel whatever you feel. Nowhere near what you've been through but I have ptsd and panic disorder from an accident back in 06. I spent 15 years being petrified of everything. Not gonna lie a lot of times I still am but I just let it be there. What you've been through and are facing is horrifying. I wish you so much love, and luck if the surgery does happen. My mil was also in a motorcycle accident while in the air force. She died on the table twice. She has some deficits but it happy and living life best she can. So glad to see you are trying to make the best of life as you can ❤
Hey Christy. Yall have been in my prayers. We are all here for you to talk with, vent to, etc. Keep strong. Talk to God. He will get you through this. Have faith in Him.
Goodness gracious, that’s rough that the surgery has so many risks. I wish there had been better news because you’ve definitely been through so much already. I hope your channel grows by leaps and bounds! I enjoy your sense of humor and your perspective about things. Also, your videos just make me feel like I’m sitting with a friend, shooting the breeze. So your channel surely deserves more folks here to also enjoy your videos as well. I hope Lee’s mom’s foot heals quickly and that y’all have a good weekend. ❤
I hope you don’t have to go up and down those spiral stairs very much. Maybe I’m just a klutz, but I’ve fallen up and down spiral stairs so many times. Sending you both a virtual hug. I know we all wish things could be different for you.
Who am I to say this, but I am so proud of you that you are continuing to learn new things. Learning sewing, learning Final Cut Pro are both things that show how much you are still connected and involved in your future. Keep up the good attitude and know how many strangers/not strangers anymore are out here rooting for your success and wellbeing.
I don't know if you've considered it, but Patreon is often a great way for content creators to make a little extra money. Your crochet creations are beautiful!
Christy and Lee you are both such strong individuals and together you’re incredible. I love how you support and love each other. It’s hard to get this kind of news and I know that you’re afraid but remember you are one strong woman. Thank you for sharing this with us.
You've gotta process how you need to, in the time you need to. Continue to be kind to yourself. :) When I finally learned to sew a few years ago, I swept through the linen closet and made a bunch of tote bags out of the old singleton sheets I'd been hanging onto. I was hooked! The only downside -- and this might be relevant to your situation -- is that sewing too long does aggravate a congenital defect in my neck. But it's not enough to stop me yet!
I have nothing comparable to your situation, but 12/21/22, I had my L4 disc rupture. It took over a month for me to have surgery- Disectomy and Decompression of L4-5 and Decompression of Nerve Root. I slowly recovered. The pain and N/T improved. But, in the past 2 months weeks, I have began to have symptoms of N/T to RLE… I am so afraid that I will face another surgery. When you two said, we will have to wait and deal with it when the time comes…. I totally felt like I could let my anxiety go for now and save it for when that time comes. I hope you can also.. Live like there’s no tomorrow!! Everyday! Hugs!!
Thank you Christy for sharing all of this with us. I am so sorry that you have to go thru all of this. If I could take all of this pain and worry away i absolutely would. My coping mechanism is also denial, always has been. Just take things one day at a time. We are here for you in any way that you need.
Commenting & liking to boost engagement, hopefully help at least with the RUclips goal. Good luck with your speech to the high school kids! Sending so much support for everything else
Thank you for sharing this hard update! I’ve been waiting to hear the news. The last thing I would think is this is for attention. I can’t imagine how hard this is for you on this side of things. Later you’ll look back and think differently but for now, you’re in our thoughts and prayers and that’s something. Hugs to you!
I don’t think you were ready to hear the full truth of it until today, but there’s no denying it now. You are a walking miracle. You are here for a reason, a purpose. I think when the time comes, Lee’s strength will help you through this. ❤️👍
You are an amazing person, live everyday as if it's your last, none of us know if we'll be here tomorrow. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I'm honoured to know you and you are an inspiration. I'm a crafter too, and it's wonderful therapy. I hope you enjoyed your sewing class, I love to sew and quilting is my passion, along with bag making, knitting, spinning, weaving, crocheting. The list goes on and on. Much love to you.
SO SORRY TO HEAR ALL THIS YOU ARE A VERY STRONG PERSON CHRISTY AND WHEN THAT TIME COMES YOU WILL FIGHT AND SHOW EVERYONE YOU ARE STRONG. WHICH YOU HAVE COME THIS FAR. YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT IT IN GODS HANDS WHEN THAT DAY COMES HE KNOWS PRAYERS FOR YOU AND EVERYONE AROUND YOU THAT NEEDS THEM
Christy, I literally just came across your story about your accident & have been binge watching your videos for the last 4hours. The first thing I feel I want you to know is that YOU are a special & AMAZING lady! Your story & your journey are hard to be sure, but I firmly believe God has given you a purpose for going through all of this. I suspect one of the purposes I believe you are here for is to indeed encourage & give comfort to others who maybe aren’t walking the same miles in your shoes, but are walking their miles for different reasons & YOU are actually a comfort for those people who maybe are struggling with depression from being limited in some kind of physical situation, and you are able to show them that yes it sucks right now but being thankful & not giving up because tomorrow can possibly be a better day. Bless you for that! I know your story inspires me to look more at the glass being half full, not half empty. I say, take your time to be quiet. Sometimes in the quieter times, comforts & game plans can slowly fall into place without having to force it. And as a 58 year old woman I want to sincerely THANK YOU for kicking the trolls to the curb & showing your daughter & anyone else following your story who maybe feel like they can’t be as strong as you that YES THEY CAN! You are SO RIGHT that the jerks who feel empowered to put hateful comments really are cowards who have self esteem issues & bully to feel better. SCREW THEM!!! I divorced a bully like that! I lived with his vile for way too many years but one day he put that last straw on the pile & I was suddenly no longer afraid of his threats & was DONE with his verbal & physical abuse & I took my kids & started a life without him & my greatest revenge was making sure he understood that HE helped me see what I will & will not accept in life. He made me the strong woman I am today & he HATES to hear that because HE lost. I WON! Lee is incredible & I think that you both are a comfort to each other & that is SO amazing!! Sorry I’ve written a novel here so I’ll end by telling you I’m a new subscriber & supporter & I look forward to following your journey & I promise I will celebrate every success you have & I’ll hold you up in prayer when you’re going through a hard time. Bless you girl! Have a great day!!!❤
You are making a great choice on the sewing class. I recently started back to sewing & am trying to make a crazy quilt. It's kinda fun when it goes right.
Do things that will make you happy and the recipient will be happy. Knitting hats is a wonderful way to help. There are many places that you can find to give things. If you sew, there is a group that makes dresses for girls in Africa. Even if you can't do much, every small thing given to others will make s huge benefit. In someone else's life.
Christy, I'm so sorry you didn't get the news you hoped for. I've lived with chronic pain for a long time, and in my experience, the most important thing you can do right now is be kind to yourself. Give yourself time to be sad and upset - eat the chocolate, complain and cry as much as you need, and get plenty of cuddles! We never know how life will be, but when it's not what you expect and hope for it's so painful and horrible. Take however long you need to get through this period. We are so glad to share in this journey with you, whatever it may hold!❤ P.s. I'm in the UK, and don't get stuff shipped overseas, but would love to support you. Would you consider getting a Ko Fi account? It's a great way for those of us with a small budget!
I just wanted to send you some love, you must be so frightened. But I hope you continue to grow your channel like you want to. Just do what makes you happy for now. Thanks you to you and Lee for sharing ❤
You are doing a great job Christy. I am perfectly healthy but you inspire me to be a better person. Thanks for sharing your life and having the courage to do so. You are a super hero❤️
Big hugs sent to you, it's a lot to come to terms with! Your husband seems like such a good support to you, you've made it this far! All the hurdles you've managed so far, I'm sure whatever happens, you'll overcome it all one way or another, there's alot you'll be whirring over but until that time comes, you're right, just focus on the vlogs, your crafts and the fun times for now and try keep smiling xxx
It is touching to join with others here in support of your ongoing healing journey. You and Lee and your family are living through huge unknowns with grace and honesty. Sending care and blessings your way from WA State.
From what I've heard on other channels it's important for RUclips to put videos out on a schedule. It helps with the algorithm and monetization. Just thought I'd share. Wish you the best on your journey!
I was thinking about the bone growth stimulator, but was also thinking it's not viable now. However possibly when the surgery is done it may be an option. My heart is with you. I've had 4 cervical fusions and 4 lumbar, but nothing compared to what you're going thru.
Prayers for you as you grapple with this difficult news. Please take the time you need to figure things out step by step. We will be on this journey with you.
I was waiting to hear from your doctor visit. You kind of knew what you were going to hear but it is still hard to hear . I pray that your hardware will hold up for awhile . The love and support from Lee is very visible . Keep after whoever can help you with the disability board, it should have already been approved. I pray that your financial worries resolve and Lee can spend more time at home. Love hearing from you both ❤
Oh my dear Christy, I've told you that I'm a retired flight nurse.....but not why I "retired " early. My birth (almost 64 years ago) was so traumatic that it left my mother in a coma (she wasn't expected to live) for a week. The best medical care at that time thought that I came through it without a single injury. It turnout that I had extensive neurological injuries which left me with a very rare form of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. I too am terrified when it comes to the neurosurgeon. I currently have my 9th pain pump and my 5th neurostimulator to just keep my pain to a 6 or 7......24/7. You hang in there darlin. You can contact me anytime if you need to talk. You are not facing surgery....now or possibly ever. Like you, I would rather talk about the things in life that bring me joy and not my pain. I will be praying for you. Y'all have a blessed day!
Christy, thank you first telling us your story and trusting that we’re listening. We are. Thinking of generating income, I think you interacting with your African Grey might be a great ‘shorts’ subject - people love them.
Accepting the fear, and facing it head on is one of the hardest things.. but it can help free you from its grasp. Change is the only constant, and we must make the most of the moments we are in. ❤️
My husband was hit from behind, sitting on his motorcycle at a red light 10 years ago. He broke his spine at T12-L1 and has sensory and motor deficits from it. He also has "profound" spinal stenosis in his lumbar spine (unrelated to the accident). He has baseline pain of a 4, so that comment was very relatable for me. He has had a 2nd back surgery (in 2021) since the initial "cage" to stabilize his spine. It was for the stenosis because the pain had become so severe and constant that he could no longer work. Sadly, the surgery did not eliminate the pain, although he has had some relief with Lyrica. I anticipate there will be another surgery when it becomes too severe again. I am a PT (yes, he was my patient). I would not do ultrasound on your neck because of the metal. I am not familiar with contraindications for laser treatment. I do wonder if a neck brace - one of the soft cervical collars - would help any with your pain? Especially when you are doing things like sewing or handiwork. The position most people sit in while doing those things is hard on your neck. I appreciate your desire to provide enough income to help Lee cover costs. Like him, I work 2 jobs, and when Neal was home because of the pain, I increased my hours to cover the bills that his salary normally pays. Working is one positive way I can contribute to the battle that is really his, but also ours. Thank you for sharing your story. Onward and upward...
Christy, stay positive, live life to the fullest and just take it a day at a time. ❤️ Your surgery when it’s required could also turn out positive, your a miracle patient, you will continue to be a miracle, you are here for a reason. Do all those things that make you happy and I pray your disability comes through very quickly, you should have it already. Is it possible to go and see a local political member that will help speed it along???…..it ridiculous you have to wait this long. Love your inspiring videos, I am so sorry you now have to process this new news your weren’t aware of, luckily Lee has been aware and has had time to process this and will be able to help you through. You have a Utube family also sending healing, prayers, positivity and love, you got this girl. !!! Wow…..Watching you at PT, you were moving those legs fast ! You are doing so well after such a major knee surgery, you have been through so much and done so very well, you really amaze me how quickly you get movement back, you should be so proud of your achievement. I hope your Utube continues to grow, and grow, so that Lee can comfortably give up one of his jobs, and let him spend more time with you and your family doing the fun things you love. Sending you lots of love, hugs, blessings and prayers from Australia ❤️🙏🏻😘
What do you use for pain meds. A nurse friend of mine has terrible hip damage due to cortisone shots in her hip and she uses the CBD oil drops under her tongue for her pain and it really helps. Be good to yourself.
I want to make one suggestion regarding healing your neck: Please look into stem cell therapy. I know there is a good clinic for this in Denver, Colorado. Also, ask if PT can do some ultra sound treatment on your knee, as well as ultra sound and laser treatment on your neck. Neither will hurt your neck and maybe they will help.
Why are you already not on disability and have medicaid? Not sure about your state, but your neurosurgeon should be able to help take care of this! Get them on the ball and push for the disability! I pray Lee can leave one of those jobs soon! You are an amazing and strong woman with a strong man loving you! Don’t ever give up!!!!
She said in her last video that she’s been trying for disability since last year. I don’t understand why they are refusing her, she deserves it more than a lot of people who get it.
I agree it’s crazy, she had her own DWTS letters, but here they are sending her to these terrible media l clinics for appointments! It’s just crazy a specialist letter should far exceed any requirement, and any medical clinic. I live in Australia and was made to wait 4 years because I needed spinal surgery, I wasn’t considered, “stable” yet someone I know who was studying a uni degree, who had depression got it is six weeks ! There is no consistency anywhere it seems they pick some who get it instantly yet suffer in pain all day and made to wait……it’s so wrong !
It's amazing you survived the horrendous accident, it would be an act of God if you didn't have neck and back pain for the rest of your life. My God, I hope God does bless you one more miracle

Everyone deserves a relationship like you and Lee have. ❤ I love watching you two together. You are both so lucky to have each other.
One day at a time, you have the best support in your husband, family and all of us. God will guide you when it’s time. ❤

I'm so so sorry that you're in this position ❤️.

Best of everything Christie take one day at a time.

Not to diminish your feelings or push a point whatever but having anxiety myself I find a lot of comfort in having a relationship with a higher power.
I’m glad you’re waiting on the surgery. I get the impression you’re here for a good reason.
We are so glad to share in this journey with you, whatever it may hold!❤
P.s. I'm in the UK, and don't get stuff shipped overseas, but would love to support you. Would you consider getting a Ko Fi account? It's a great way for those of us with a small budget!
I will keep you in my prayers.
I just wanted to send you some love, you must be so frightened. But I hope you continue to grow your channel like you want to. Just do what makes you happy for now. Thanks you to you and Lee for sharing ❤
Sending love and prayers🙏🙏🙏❤️
You are doing a great job Christy. I am perfectly healthy but you inspire me to be a better person. Thanks for sharing your life and having the courage to do so. You are a super hero❤️
Big hugs sent to you, it's a lot to come to terms with! Your husband seems like such a good support to you, you've made it this far! All the hurdles you've managed so far, I'm sure whatever happens, you'll overcome it all one way or another, there's alot you'll be whirring over but until that time comes, you're right, just focus on the vlogs, your crafts and the fun times for now and try keep smiling xxx
Christie, continuing to send you prayers as well as your husband, God Bless from South Carolina 🙏🙏
To Christy and Lee: sending you and the rest of your family virtual hugs and love, along with prayers for courage, strength and healing.
Inspirational :) ❤
It is touching to join with others here in support of your ongoing healing journey. You and Lee and your family are living through huge unknowns with grace and honesty. Sending care and blessings your way from WA State.
From what I've heard on other channels it's important for RUclips to put videos out on a schedule. It helps with the algorithm and monetization. Just thought I'd share. Wish you the best on your journey!
My thoughts are with you ❤️♥️♥️
Prayers and positive thoughts as you deal with this you are a brave warrior
I'm here, you're such an inspiration to not panic, after my accident, these injuries, I don't feel so alone...and my ice cream cookie is on its way
Thank you for sharing your journey and educating people about this type of injury. Sending love and positive vibes your way ❤
I was thinking about the bone growth stimulator, but was also thinking it's not viable now.
Love hearing from you both ❤
Sending love and light to you and your family. Thank you for sharing your truth.
Both of you are so brave
Still watching👍❤️
I can’t imagine how you are feeling Christy! Just thinking about you and hoping you find some joy and peace!
I applaud you for your bravery.
Accepting the fear, and facing it head on is one of the hardest things.. but it can help free you from its grasp. Change is the only constant, and we must make the most of the moments we are in. ❤️
Sending you and Lee love and light. Love watching your incredible story. Prayers for the eventual surgery. Xo
Thank you for sharing this difficult update with us. We’re here to help support your next steps, whatever you decide that will look like ❤
Thank you for sharing ☺️😁😁☺️
You look great, and your channel is helping
Good luck!
I love you and that’s all!❤
Christy, stay positive, live life to the fullest and just take it a day at a time. ❤️
Your surgery when it’s required could also turn out positive, your a miracle patient, you will continue to be a miracle, you are here for a reason.
Warm wishes from Minnesota! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m praying for you!
My heart goes out to you❤️❤️ you are so strong you amaze me!
Sending love ....
I can’t believe the frigging insurance companies won’t help her! Dear God, they are monsters!
It's amazing you survived the horrendous accident, it would be an act of God if you didn't have neck and back pain for the rest of your life. My God, I hope God does bless you one more miracle
Sending love your way……..
Make sure to get your Living Will written up!
