I'm waiting for the next Winter Olympics !! Just half a year away :) Despite one of my fav had retired - Axel Lund Svindal, Tina Weitrather, Anna Veith, Marit Bjoergen and so on ...
OAR gold is the most undeserved gold in these Games. A team that shouldn't be there because of doping but more importantly, the team that will never win a best-on-best tournament. They can only win when the NHL pulls out. Totally unfair: Russia has only 30 players in the NHL compared to Canada's 300 (other countries from the Big Six have from 40-150 players). Furthermore, Russians destroyed their own league (KHL), gathering all their best Russian pros in their two wealthiest state-sponsored teams - SKA and CSKA. Players played together for years and that gives them an advantage over hastily assembled opponents. Last not least, after the NHL announcement they returned many their NHL all-stars (like Datsuyk) to make them play in the Olympics. Shame on Russia. The most undeserved gold ever.
Max Arosev you are funny. It's not the Russian fault that NHL didn't let it's hockey players to the Olympics. Also, there're no facts which say the Russian hockey players are unfair and use doping, so they are able to take part in this competition. Talking about KHL... Okay, maybe Russian coaches are more clever if they can make good players play together for a long time? You also don't know the truth about returned athletes. Datsuyk is THE ONLY ONE who came back, and the Russian hockey team has more players who just came to America or who desided to continue playing in NHL this season than who came back to KHL.
Arina Steil Am I? Many returned (Kovalchuk and others). Check the facts. I don't say they're the ones to blame. But they capitalized on the NHL decision more than others. And they use this win to boost Putin's ratings within Russia.
Max Arosev Kovalchuk has been playing in SKA since 2013, check the information. I truly remember he won the last Gagarin Cup, how could he return because of the Olympics?
+Max Arosev If gold medals without Anton Shipulin, Viktor An, Ksenia Stolbova, Fedor Klimov, Ivan Bukin, Alexandra Stepanova and many others (who weren't allowed to compete at the Olympic without any explanation) considered as real gold medals, then gold medal in hockey tournament without NHL players is absolutely deserved gold medal as well. And it isn't Russia's fault that NHL is more important for USA and Canada than Olympic Games.
Thank you, Team USA 🇺🇸 in PeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games 3 years ago, and now we're going to Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics!
Watching Russia winning that gold was stunning! Thank you for this
Russia? They didn't win a single gold medal in Pyeongchang
