  • Summer in Qatar can get hot, sometimes reaching up to 50 degrees Celsius with intense solar radiation. Many workers mostly perform their job outdoors, especially in the construction and agriculture industries. But what happens during the summer months when they can experience higher occupational heat stress levels?
In this week's QTip, we answer the question, "What are the summer working hours in Qatar for those who need to work outdoors and what are the responsibilities of employers?" Find out by hitting the play button.
Mr Q also talks about Qatar's old and new Ministry regulations regarding non-working hours in open workplaces for summer. He also mentions what will happen to companies that violate worker rights and how can workers report violations and complaints.

I really appreciate how thorough these protections are! I wish we had more workers' rights policies like this in the US.

So much misinformation out there about this wonderful country. So many laws and regulations exist to protect workers, which companies may not be following yet the narrative is that Qatar allows this. Very unfortunate. Definitely sharing this

They are practical facts. Statements from a random RUclipsrs don't count for anything. Not even the laws do considering this is a technical law that isn't enforced and eg only taken seriously to appease the west because they're hosting the World Cup. Not because they at least at the most bauchi level care for welfare of their Muslim brothers from Pakistan, Bangladesh, India etc
