Congratulations, you're this month's giveaway winner! 🎉 Please send me an email (hello@toniaknits.com) with your full name and mailing address within 48 hours and I will get your package in the mail! Congrats!
Thanks so much for all you do! Really enjoy your videos. I have not gotten to knit with anything more exotic than alpaca. So winning the yak would be lovely!❤❤❤
I haven’t used any exotic yarns, in fact I really haven’t knitted with any wool. I’ve been sticking with cotton and acrylic but I think it’s time to branch out! lol I love your videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! 🤗
Thank you for managing to make your podcast both informative and entertaining! My dream yarn is 100% angora. I knitted a sweater with an angora/cotton blend once upon a time, and every time I picked up the project I ended up covered in hair, so I imagine 100% angora will be a mess, but I also imagine the mess will be glorious!
I've not knitted with any luxury yarns, but to be able to try yak would be awesome. Thank you for all the wonderful helpful information in your podcasts. It's much appreciated
The most luxurious yarn I have knit with has been a merino silk blend. Which was lovely. I'm not sure if silk is a luxury yarn , but at least for me it was. I made a baby sweater for my newest granddaughter by holding two strands together, different colors, first sweater I ever "finished".
I'm currently knitting with yarn that has mulberry silk and it is delicious. It's so lovely, it's soft, shiny and gorgeous. I would love to try knitting with yak yarn 😍
Your podcasts are so fun to watch! It is geek time and a dive into 'why' 'how' Yay and Thanks. My furthest luxury dive has been alpaca, or alpaca with silk. Scrumptious!! Yak? Oooooooo!!!!
The most luxurious yarn I have worked with so far is super wash merino wool. I do have some bamboo silk and some mohair but I have to find the right project for them. I love seeing more Canadian dyers.
I have not used any luxury yarns. I don't even know of many. I found some project kits at an estate sale and one of them has some cashmere yarn so I'm pretty excited to use that! I'm looking forward to seeing your cardigan and love note sweater when they are done.
I haven't knit with anything other than wool and nylon so far. I have some light pink silk yarn that I will get to some day😅. I have crocheted a baby blanket with bamboo yarn and I loved how it turned out!
Been watching your videos for awhile now and find them informative and easy to understand. Seen the give away for this month. Haven’t tried yarns like those but would like to try some. Mostly knitting socks with wool blends but now am knitting a top down raglan cardigan.
Hi 👋 I’m about to begin knitting with the Bamys base of Fibrani, a mix of yak, merino and silk. It looks amazing, I’m looking forward to seeing how this turns.
I’ve knitted with Undercover Otter Eventide, which is a merino, silk and yak blend. It is lovely to knit with. The project is on hold at the moment because one of the colors that featured prominently was not flattering on me. The yak adds some gray to the color, and in a sage green color it just didn’t work for my complexion. Other colors were great! Love seeing all your projects and your thoughts on them. ❤
I have spun Ashland Bay merino/silk/yak which is a DREAM to spin! I have not knit with it yet as I need more spun up. If you are interested, try looking up heated mattress pads. We turn ours on an hour or so before bedtime then shut it off when we go to bed. Oh the warmth is SO fantastic I can't communicate it well! We turn the heat down to 66 at night so the warm bed is so welcomed!
The only luxury yarn I've used was a cashmere merino silk blend, made a pair of wonderfully soft fingerless mitts. I use them in the evening while knitting in bed. Thanks for another great video.☺
Hello! I have knit with some yak, I bought some fiber to spin that had yak in it. I really like it a lot. I’m making my son some gloves from the yarn. I love the crochet blanket you’re making, the colors are really pretty.
I used a merino silk cashmere blend. It was lovely. I recently bought some alpaca yarn - very light and airy. I've never used any yak but would love to try it. I love your videos! I like to hear the how and why of doing things. Your projects turn out so beautiful.
Firstly, you wear jewel-tone colours so well. Many moons ago, I used some mohair for the short sleeves of a sweater I knit for a friend. Looking back, it was such a poor choice because my friend was not what you would call "a girly-girl" at the time. The sweater body was pink (I think) and the mohair (fuzzy) sleeves were off-white. She would have looked like an Easter poster girl. Would love to try some specialty yarns. Proudly Canadian too🇨🇦.
I have knit with a luxury fiber is was a yak blend by Crafted by Locals, and it’s so soft. I knit the Latte Cardigan by Kirsten Joel with it. Thank you for sharing so much knitting wisdom and inspiration with us.
I used to blog about fibers and got the opportunity to play with most of the luxury fibers. The one that I didn't get the chance to do is quivet. I still hope to get the chance to prep and spin this fiber one day.
I knit the Nightshift Shawl by Andrea Mowry with the recommended yarn and I was really happy I did! The Spincycle yarns are quite lovely! Most often I substitute so I can support my LYS but I splurged on this one
Hi Tonya. I laughed when you talked about becoming an old lady- hot water bottle cover and bed jackets! I’m right there with you….i plan to knit a ‘swancho’ to keep my shoulders warm while reading in bed. Sounds like I need a hot water bottle too! I keep hearing about yak yarn- so think I’d like to try that.
Swancho! What a wonderful idea! I've never heard of it, but now I'm excited to check one out, as my son and I are constantly battling over the AC setting. Thank you!
Now that's a good reason to knit a swancho! I keep thinking about knitting one but they just look so unpractical to wear as an everyday garment but would be perfect for bedtime!
I’ve knitted with silk mohair but I would like to try the Surrey Alpaca or angora. The Yak yarn is beautiful. Thank you for all your hard work educating and sharing your knowledge with us!
I have knit with some capra from KnitPicks, which has the cashmere. And silk mohair, silk suri, etc. I have also spun some yarn in cashmere, mohair, silk, yak, camel, and baby alpaca, which is really fun. Then I love knitting them up. Also, we are so alike in our knitting! I love the cables book and used her cables in my level 3 sweater. I have knit the love note and the Festival of Stitches...and in fact, I will be teaching that shawl as a technique series at my LYS! Thanks for a great episode!
Hello! I'm currently knitting with an acrylic/wool/camel blend. It's the most "luxurious " yarn I've used. I'd love to try combining a wool and mohair like you're doing. Love your channel!
I just put Qiviut on my Christmas list for 2024! I would love to try something special like that, and those colors are gorgeous! Thank you for your videos, and I’m on the list for your modifications kal. I’m trying to get the courage to knit my first sweater. 😅
Ooh, that yarn is gorgeous. I have very recently knit a pair of mitts with a merino yak blend, Juniper Moon Farms Tenzing. It was lovely to work with. And I have a sweater quantity of a yak silk blend that I’m looking forward to using.
I love all things wool but the most luxurious and softest yarn that I have used is 100% pure fine kid Australian mohair, that I found on sale 😊. It’s like a kitten.
I have completed a pair of socks (Winterfest Socks) which have a merino yak combo by Regia. Also working on a cowl with the merino yak combo. Love them.
My most luxurious yarn so far is Baby Llama (Talara by Berroco). I made a red Ranunculus from it, and it is soooo soft. In my wish list are qiviut and yak. ❤
Hello fellow Canadian! The most exotic yarn I have worked with is a camel/silk fingering yarn. The fabric was dreamy soft with a beautiful drape and sheen. ❤
Great video! So many beautiful projects! I wish i had more time! I especially liked that buttoned cowl with the cable detail. It looked so soft and bouncy! I haven't gotten the chance to delve into specialty yarns so much but have used a high end cashmere and some alpaca/silk blends. The way these yarns move through my fingers almost ruined me for any others. No more squeaky acrylics for me! I just want to acknowledge and thank you for how much work you put into the description box so we'd have all the info.
Hi! My most special yarn is from Cobb Hill Alpacas. We have an Airstream trailer and belong to Harvest Hosts. One of the hosts where we stayed was Cobb Hill Alpacas in Wytheville, VA. We were able to “meet” Chrissy & Venus, and then purchase yarn spun from their fleece. Such a fun experience. I am knitting a vest from the yarn I purchased. Love your podcasts! Hope to take one of your Zoom classes some day.
Thanks for the tip for using an extra needle for the provisional cast on. Makes so much sense, especially with a 2 yarn held together project. I'm slowly working thru the tiers of yarn. Purchased some local alpaca. No silk or yak blends yet. Touched qiviut at a local fibre festival 2 years ago and it will be on my wish list for 2025! I purchased the knowledgeable knitter book after you recommended it and borrowing it from my local library. Enabling my knitting library expansion!
Hello fellow Canadian 🇨🇦 Thank you for nice and informative podcast. I would love to try knitting with yak yarn, well any luxury yarn really. I like yarn with silk and have Berroco Sumer Silk in stash to try. 🧶
Hi Tonia, I haven’t knit with any luxury yarns yet, maybe one day. I did just get a ball of Drops Kid Silk to add along with a worsted yarn for a hat. I’ve never knit with two different yarns held together…..I’m also late to the trend, Happy knitting 🧶 Karen
I knit a very simple summer top with a cotton, yak & nylon blend with a chainette construction. Loved it. I have a skein of MCN that will become a very cozy pair of socks soon. Looking forward to trying this yarn out for the first time. Thanks for your wonderful and informative podcasts.
Delightful podcast! You are so charming and informative. I’ve used silk blends and cashmere in several projects but I’ve always wanted to try a yak blend. Hoping to get lucky! Thanks for all the time you put into your productions💓
Your Flax not Flax looks wonderful, great example of what a nice fit you can get. Very flattering . After watching your videos I am paying more attention to upper bust measurement for the sake of my shoulder fit . No luxury fibers in my past , but I am so curious about that New Zealand Possum yarn. My understanding is it is a different type of animal there, unlike the ones we have here. Suppose to be a nice warm yarn .
I have not had a chance to use luxury fibers yet. I have wanted to try cashmere and/or yak! So crossing my fingers that this will be my chance to try yak 😂. Thanks for another great episode!
Wow, I would love to win the beautiful skeins of yak and silk yarn. I love your channel and have learned so much from you. You’ve made me a better knitter! Thanks🙂
If you haven't heard of them, western Canadian company Arcane Fibre Works has beautiful yarn, excellent customer service, and a particular feature that is unique (to me). Each colorlot picture is accompanied with a "goes with" selection of other colors, as well as a lovely picture showing that colorlot's hues in nature. As a color-coordinating challenged knitter with aged eyes (and often computer colors aren't true), I really appreciate that feature. Just found your podcast and enjoyed it so much that I'm going to binge your previous ones. Judy in Oregon
I inherited my grandmother’s yarn, and she had some 70% angora and 30% lambswool blend, most likely the most luxurious yarn I’ll ever own! So soft, but it sheds a lot. I made an oversized shawl so that it’ll feel like a warm hug from her 😊 I feel the same way as you about mohair, haven’t tried it yet, but i kinda wanna see what the fuss is about, so i’ll probably knit a sweater with it just to try it out (Btw you gave me quite a shock the first time you talked about the Twilight Realm scarf and my name popped up on the screen lol And don’t feel bad about it taking it a long time to knit, i’m pretty sure mine took me about about a year and a half lol)
I haven't used yak or much of anything exotic, I'm up to alpaca now and I love it. I'm using the Cobbler speckle for socks right now. It looks fantastic with the mohair.
I haven’t knitted with any luxury yarn yet. I don’t know if it’s in my budget, but maybe someday it will be 😊
Congratulations, you're this month's giveaway winner! 🎉 Please send me an email (hello@toniaknits.com) with your full name and mailing address within 48 hours and I will get your package in the mail! Congrats!

Hi! Just tripped across your podcast (couldn’t help notice the cover photo)😊 Thanks for the shout out.
Norah, I’ve made some your patterns and love them. You are the Cable Queen!
Welcome! (I'm having a bit of a fangirl moment now 😁)
I have never knit with a luxury fiber, but would love to try some!
Thanks so much for all you do! Really enjoy your videos. I have not gotten to knit with anything more exotic than alpaca. So winning the yak would be lovely!❤❤❤

I never have knit with luxury yarn, I really like the tones a this yarn!
Love knitting with Malabrigo. The colours are vibrant.
I've not knitted with any luxury yarns, but to be able to try yak would be awesome. Thank you for all the wonderful helpful information in your podcasts. It's much appreciated
I purchased my first angora rabbit yarn and "straight-up" alpaca yarn. They are both super soft! I haven't decided what to use them for as yet.
I love your podcasts! Nope, never knit with a luxury yarn but would love to some day!,
I have not used any special yarn yet but planning in using silk very soon. The yak and silk sounds amazing 😍
I have knit a wimple with Qiviut for a gift. It was so wonderful that I bought 2 skeins for myself that are part of my sacred stash😊
I love the idea of a sacred stash! 😁

You have a lot of projects in the works! I haven't knit with any luxury fibers, except an MCN fingering skein once. 😀

Thanks tanya for your patterns and good info. Am enjoying your podcast and advice. 😊
Thank you!
I loved knitting with wool/yak blend! And I bought some possum yarn while on a trip to Australia.
You and your knitting is amazing!
I have not used any luxury yarns. I don't even know of many. I found some project kits at an estate sale and one of them has some cashmere yarn so I'm pretty excited to use that! I'm looking forward to seeing your cardigan and love note sweater when they are done.
A friend brought me wool and silk blend with gold threads from Japan for a shawl. So nice.
I have enjoyed knitting with Moutain Meadow Wool's Tatanka. It is bison, alpaca and wool.
Thanks so much for a super epidode.
I have crocheted with camel and alpaca. I love trying new-to-me fibers.
I would love to try the Qiviut when my knitting skills are worthy. The yarn for your green cardigan yarn is lovely as well.
I haven't knit with anything other than wool and nylon so far. I have some light pink silk yarn that I will get to some day😅. I have crocheted a baby blanket with bamboo yarn and I loved how it turned out!
I’ve used Camel & Silk. It was amazing to work with. The results were stunning! The yak /silk looks like it’s similar.
Been watching your videos for awhile now and find them informative and easy to understand. Seen the give away for this month. Haven’t tried yarns like those but would like to try some. Mostly knitting socks with wool blends but now am knitting a top down raglan cardigan.
I have not used specialty yarns but would love to try some! Thank you!
I made a hat with baby yak by mYak and I absolutely loved working with it! It’s also the warmest hat I own!
Enjoyed the podcast❤. I have knit with yak once before, it was lovely to work with and made a very drapey fabric. Someday, I hope to try qiviut.
Hi 👋 I’m about to begin knitting with the Bamys base of Fibrani, a mix of yak, merino and silk. It looks amazing, I’m looking forward to seeing how this turns.

@@OnTheCCCouch a swancho is a cross between a shawl and a poncho….very practical design for sitting reading-or knitting 🧶😊
Now that's a good reason to knit a swancho! I keep thinking about knitting one but they just look so unpractical to wear as an everyday garment but would be perfect for bedtime!
I knit with mink years ago. It, surprisingly, was not as soft as I expected. I have also knit with the rare CVM yarn. Lovely yarn.
I’ve knitted with silk mohair but I would like to try the Surrey Alpaca or angora. The Yak yarn is beautiful. Thank you for all your hard work educating and sharing your knowledge with us!
Have never knit with pure cashmere, but would love to!

Thank you for another lovey episode.

Great projects! I haven’t knit with any specialty yarns but I do have some Silk yarn I want to try.

I would like to give Yak fiber a try, I've only ever used acrylic yarns. I love your podcasts!!
I just used a merino yak sock yarn for a cowl. It was so soft and I loved it.
I have not knit with Yak. It would be fun to try it. Thank you for all the information you provide in your videos.
I love Flex Light a great template pattern to make changes to. It is my go to pattern for tops
I knit the Hitofude sweater with llama and really loved the yarn. I would love to try a yak blend.
I haven’t knit with anything really luxury yet. I do have some camel and wool blend fibre to spin up and I’m really looking forward to that!
I would love to knit with angora! Thanks so much for very informative content.
Absolutely loved the evergreen colour. Haven't really tried any specialty yarns. I have 2 50gram balls of alpaca but can't decide what to make
I knit summer tops with silk blends and love them. Given the price of the yarn I can only get it when I catch a sale.
I've never worked with luxury yarn, but I'd love to try something like cashmere, or just otherwise soft or smooth yarn!
I have completed a pair of socks (Winterfest Socks) which have a merino yak combo by Regia. Also working on a cowl with the merino yak combo. Love them.
I have knitted a headband and a ''faux col'' out of a skein of IONA Bunny made of Angora wool that came from Fleece & Harmony's rabbits.
My most luxurious yarn so far is Baby Llama (Talara by Berroco). I made a red Ranunculus from it, and it is soooo soft. In my wish list are qiviut and yak. ❤
Great podcast thank you
Hello fellow Canadian! The most exotic yarn I have worked with is a camel/silk fingering yarn. The fabric was dreamy soft with a beautiful drape and sheen. ❤
Used Kid mohair silk and cashmere. Thanks for the overview of the cable book.
I have not knitted with a luxury yarn but I have been looking at cardigans with luxury yarns. That yarn is beautiful 😍
my luxury yarn for summer is silk or silk/linen blend. The yak yarn looks luxorious.
Thank you! Filling in the description box does take quite a bit of time. 😁
Meeting the animals who provide the fleece sounds like such a lovely experience! 😍
Hi have knitted with camel silk blend. I def consider it luxurious. ❤
I’ve basically just stuck with 75/25 merino yarn for socks but I’d love to venture out and maybe try mohair! I love your channel ❤️
Haha, always happy to help knitters add to their knitting library! 😁
I have some Yak yarn I got when I was in Alaska last fall. So pretty but I can't make myself wind it up. I just love looking at it!
I haven’t knit with any “different” yarns yet. Merino, yak and silk sounds FABULOUS!
