Interesting.....are you sure they cannot get back out? One of the better ideas I have seen. I hope you took the snake far enough away, they are pretty resourceful and can find their way back. I too would like to know what you used for bait......I am thinking an egg like Sideshow Billy commented.
Nope! They go through a funnel/cone shape which has sharp wires facing in - not a smooth edge. So even if they find the opening, they would get stabbed by the wire. Kinda like those parking lot exits that have the sharp spikes facing the road to keep people from driving in the exit! I don't use bait - I used to use old eggs - but then I realized I caught just as many in traps without bait! So I just set them out empty! And I relocate them a couple miles away, near growth and water - but away from people!
Thank you for relocating theses beautiful snake, that fellow looks like he's trying to act mean in reality he's probably scared.
He would definitely be in that cage floating with the fishes
Now hes another chicken owners problem 😂

What did you use for bait? an egg? Is that a coachwhip snake? or some kind of racer?
I believe this was a racer. I don't bait the traps at all! I used to use older eggs, but then I realized I caught just as many in the unbaited traps!
It ran faster then I could. I would die 😅
