Why I was so drawn to hubs/QD isn’t to quickly take off and swap - it’s for peace of mind not worrying about the silencer starting ti back off and have a catastrophic failure. That’s why I love a 3 lug so much. The thought of worrying about having to retighten a can on a direct thread sucks. So a locking piece on a QD solves that, for me. It may be a gimmick, but they say the HUX having the reverse thread on the can solves the issue of that as it sort of “self tightens” 🤷🏻♂️
@@armorers_wrenchso here’s my question though - is there a certain torque spec? Nothing came in the box. I hand tightened it. It did not back off, but I could just loosen it with hand pressure. So what’s to say it won’t back off? It’s an honest question. Because a QD locking mechanism won’t let you loosen it.
@@Steve_MP5are you asking about the tapered muzzle or the plan B mount? Basically you go hand tight and then put in one extra uga duga for good measure. I have also heard that you can shoot a few rounds and get it warm and then put in the extra uga duga. But any tapered screw mechanism*should* be fairly easy to remove. If it's really hard to remove then you probably over torqued it.

I agree but if they are going budget they should compete with the budget priced cans. $600ish if you can afford a 1000 dollar can you can a afford a 1400 dollar can that is the southpaw
I find it hard to get useful info out of pew science since they’re inconsistent in what they test with. The Trash Panda and Thunder Chicken were tested with .308. Other 7.62 cans were tested with 300 BLK. Hard to get any meaningful comparison out of the rankings then.
he actually will end up testing them with all the same caliber, but he takes certain calibers at a time, its weird and I said the same thing till it was explained to me. on his site you can actually filter what round and you will see all the cans he has tested with a specific round so far
Pew Science isn't the "Arbiter of Truth" that all his fangirls hype him up to be. Sorry to break it to the reddit nerds. Just like everyone else, he DOES have his own bias, and like what Kev & Jay of Q, said in this video, Jay of Pew Science claimed at the beginning that he wouldn't take any money from people & suppressor companies and then proceeds to start doing exactly just that! And that's the day I stopped taking him (Jay/Pew Science) serious.

Folks who complain that they want cheap products, don’t comprehend what value is. You save up for valuable items, they’re not cheap. Good things take time. Many of us appreciate the time and effort that Q puts into their products.
Thank you

Why I was so drawn to hubs/QD isn’t to quickly take off and swap - it’s for peace of mind not worrying about the silencer starting ti back off and have a catastrophic failure. That’s why I love a 3 lug so much. The thought of worrying about having to retighten a can on a direct thread sucks. So a locking piece on a QD solves that, for me.
It may be a gimmick, but they say the HUX having the reverse thread on the can solves the issue of that as it sort of “self tightens” 🤷🏻♂️
Q's tapered muzzle solves the issue of the silencer backing off.
@@armorers_wrenchasking about the taper. Using the cherry bomb and southpaw. So you’re saying hand tight the taper mount the southpaw “can’t” back off under use?
@@Steve_MP5no it won’t back off
Q is the only company that provides innovative products with the experience to back it up. Other silencer and gun companies are clueless.
lol. Lmao even
Jay, my company, SwiftOtter is going to be at SHOT Show. Would love for you to stop by our hospitality suite we are hosting. Enjoy some bourbon and BBQ, free head shots (not ,300 Blackout headshots). We want some sciencers there 😉
Im not trying to suck anyone off but I really look up to Kevin.
I'd love to see you guys make a budget suppressor like you guys were talking about. I think you guys would completely change the market if you put your heads together. Even a budget Q can would be high quality. Try to do it for $800, that way its a grand with the stamp. I bet you could make a pretty decent can for $800.
I legitimately just want to see what you can come up with.
I agree but if they are going budget they should compete with the budget priced cans. $600ish if you can afford a 1000 dollar can you can a afford a 1400 dollar can that is the southpaw
Trash Panda is $850 on silencershop right now with a free stamp.

I’m done with pew science everything I’ve bought based on his data has been very disappointing.
What silencers are you disappointed in specifically?
Pew Science isn't the "Arbiter of Truth" that all his fangirls hype him up to be. Sorry to break it to the reddit nerds. Just like everyone else, he DOES have his own bias, and like what Kev & Jay of Q, said in this video, Jay of Pew Science claimed at the beginning that he wouldn't take any money from people & suppressor companies and then proceeds to start doing exactly just that! And that's the day I stopped taking him (Jay/Pew Science) serious.
Jay/Pew Science started to charge people for data that used to be free. Most test data that people can conduct themselves even with the cheaper equipment.
@@Michaeldpress14 flow 556k/762ti vary loud.
Woah 556 is loud? Who knew. The only 556 can I have is the kac qdc and its load af as well. It’d be hilarious if Jay tests the southpaw and it makes #1.
It's muffler not suppressor
I don’t understand why people hate so much on Q and Kevin specifically. I’m gonna have to Google why they hate him so much. I’m sure I’ll conclude that they’re a bunch of Care bears.
Weird how people get mad at people reviewing guns when they receive them for T&E without money but they turn around a take his word as gospel after he receives the silencer and a l paycheck. Just my opinion. It’s also disheartening coming from a scientific background to see all of the missed opportunities and claims of scientific processes when the data points are not repeatable or even peer reviewed. It’s The Dunning Kruger effect in full swing.
In his defense, he seems like a decent dude but my goodness, if he really claimed to be doing the most important thing in small arms history, I’m done 🤣. This is a very subjective field; buy something you enjoy and fucking just use it.
