Good video concept but I would recommend doing at least a little research before recording. It's going to be hard for your audience to trust that you know enough to effectively rank the boxes when you're constantly saying you don't know the names of the units. Simply taking 5 minutes to look up a list of each box's contents would have dramatically increased the quality of this video.
@walteredie3620 Yes, you’re right, and I’m thankful for you pointing this out. Not gonna lie, I promised myself to release one video a week on Wednesdays, my dudes, and because of the time pressure, I lowered my standards on this one, which isn’t right. The worst part is that I actually know most of the names, but in the moment, I couldn’t remember and went with silly placeholders like 'Stompa' and 'transport' instead of proper vehicle names. Again, thank you for pointing this out-it didn’t just slip through the cracks, and I take full responsibility. All I can say is that I’m here to learn from my mistakes and will do my best to improve and be better moving forward.
The Custodes Watchers of the Gate battleforce is easily an S tier box. It's over 1000 points of Custodes. You get TJ, Terminators, 15 guards and bikes. It's like $320 worth of models for $187.
@@angeloidchitoge6474 I think it's one of the best boxes period. Custodes have a bunch of Forge World stuff, which they wouldn't put in a battleforce. That battleforce was as close to perfect as it could have been for a faction. I suppose an argument could be made to drop a guard squad for some wardens or prosecutors, but Custodes Guard are a pretty staple unit for the faction. Feel like if you put all the battleforces against each other, this one has a solid chance of winning against them all.
@ Exactly because outside of forgeworld you really only have 4 custodian units if you exclude TJ and blade champion. They’re easy to collect, paint, etc. it’s basically the perfect start collecting box
@@angeloidchitoge6474 His picks overall are pretty decent apart from a few. The most effective way of ranking these boxes is by points of the models and overall value of the box. Any box that includes over 1000 points of models is S tier imo. That is pretty much half a competitive army for a really good price. Custodes, Knights, and Dark Angels all fit that criteria I believe. I may be wrong but that Leagues of Votann box was also pretty crazy last year. It sold out the fastest and a Votann army can be expensive, so to get all those big units in a box was solid. The most recent Tau box is probably the worst Battleforce ever made. It's like 500 points. Most Combat Patrols have more than that at like half the price.
@ The Votann box id argue can be S tier because you can buy 2 of those and grab the combat patrol for a full votann army. Boxes like World Eaters and K-sons are great for getting into the army, but are meant to be one time purchases because the center piece models you don’t need another of.
I'm not even an Eldar player, and I'm pissed. Hopefully, they'll fix it-maybe it will arrive with the Emperor's Children as part of a Slaanesh-themed story?
Ik it's probably not going to happen but it would be nice for a battlebox next year to be a introduction into some type of harlequin update or maybe some type of exodite stuff again probably never going to happen
True. I even heard these were part of the 9th range update most of the eldar got. Apparently there was error on the molds for aspect warriors and they delayed them until 10th. This will likely be the last big thing for a while. Maybe a random epic hero or hq on occasion.
Talks about Primaris Marines. Suggest Rhino as transport.... The only good thing about this video was that I finally got to see X-mass boxes in one place without effort. Also, this was random recommendation video, so really only effort was this comment... Check your facts or you will appear as unreliable.
Just got into 40K this year I couldn’t believe how popular the boxes were going to be and how limited the supply was. I couldn’t manage to grab an inner circle as they were sold out in roughly 25 minutes here in Australia. With the knights box, you reckon it’s worth getting another questoris knight? The 2nd market here is pretty limited and no one is really selling knight sprues. I’m also hopping to pick up a Tau box at the game store. Don’t think many people bought those in Australia.
@@zhaoxinli472 Yeah, it was crazy! It showed up in our local store and was gone in like 6 hours. I was sniping it myself and luckily managed to get my order in on time. Where are you from? I might look for some more if you're in the EU. ;)
The boxes get produced in different ammounts. the inner circle box was heavily limited, a friend of mine has a big warhammer store and got 10 inner circle boxes, but could have gotten 200 of the necrons one this year.
Also got into 40K this year and want to build an Imperial Fists army, looked at the old Bastion strike force box and it looked like dogsh*t compared to other christmas boxes hahaha, like you said, they shouldve definitely added something else, now it was just 'Heavy Intercessors parade box'
THe new knight box is worse than the old one because although you can build the whole variety of the armigers unlike in the old one, you miss the free shoulder weapons of the questoris so you either castrate yourself or you dont care about wysiwyg.
I really think every box would be an S tier for you if they included 20 pox walkers by the way you rank them and comment on why it is on that specific tier. It kind of hurts when you do a ranking without even knowing the names of the units otherwise I kind of understand as the list is personal but man if the khorne hounds fans get to you it might get brawly.
i do get that a tierlist is personal and all but not even mentioning how many points of model you get for each is a bit of an oversight, most people value the total points of the models in a box. also, as other already pointed out, please name and pronounce somewhat correctly the name of the units, just print yourself a list of the model present in each box and read it, i finished the video with my ears bleeding from all that butchering of names and pronunciations.
Great video concept terrible execution No points accounted, for no discount accounted for, no account for what is already in the combat patrol for that faction at time of release Bro you didn't even know names of most of the things
Was excited to watch it. But you gloss over alot of the stuff due to lack of knowledge/information. Lost interest midway. Need more research preparation would be awesome.

Stompa for guard is wild
Listening to the Tau 2020 box review was painful. Almost every "guess" of what the unit is was wrong there.

Death Guard players got all the Pox Walkers they will ever need from their Combat Patrol.. bollox to Pox Walkers.
That is true. I only managed to buy one of the Combat Patrols myself and had to get some extra Poxwalkers, but that’s a rare scenario.
