The spool lays flat in the machine, the holes giving opportunity to see how full it ist. And after sewing you put the spool out, put the threat through one of the holes for fixing against Messing around.
And the spool needs less Metall, so more spools can be produced.
Why not giving a new a new sense as embroidery-helper. It's nice 👍🥰

Creio que os buraquinhos nas bobinas há e sempre foi assim . Minha tinha que também é minha madrinha , já falecida desde 1962 , hoje teria muito mais de cem anos me deu a sua máquina de costura Singer hj uma relíquia e as bobinhas já tinham furinhos ! ❤️

Al final, queda bien rematado, es una técnica parecida a los pompones de lana, tan bien están re atados. Los agujeros, sirven para que la flor sea fácil de hacer y queden los hilos al mismo tamaño.

I am not into tailoring or stitching clothes except fixing some holes that have infected each of my clothes since 2016 whether my cloth is old or new I do get holes a lot. But even with less knowledge of the field it felt like no one would waste a mechanical or industrial set up to make those holes on a metal so one can easily make flowers like that!😁 It looked cute though. ❤
