    The way sir explains is just perfect. I've never felt this satisfied with an explanation to any problem. The clarity that sir provides in his explanations, diving into each minute detail and explaining them in astonishingly simple words is eye opening. The physics teachers I've met,(till class 12) most of them have just told me to memorize the formulas, and even when they explain, they don't go into such details, I wonder if they are just bored to explain or they themselves don't have that level of understanding of the subject. I hope every teacher learns from sir and provides adequate explanations, so that the students feel satisfied and feel like they actually learnt something.

    1:11:56 - To answer this question, The effect of EM wave interacting with "sheet" of charges is to kick back the phase of the Wave by a little bit. A metrial block can be thought of as a collection of such charged sheets. So the net effect comes out to be a wave of higher frequency or lower wavelength. Hence speed seem to be decreased. 3blue 1 brown made a very good video with animations on this question. Please check it out.

    " S.I. UNIT OF AMPLITUDE IS METRE".
    S.I. units of frequency, time period , wavelength and velocity is same for every wave BUT amplitude doesn't have any specific S.I. unit as in this case the S.I. unit of amplitude is V/m .

    Another defect in defining Electric field as:-
    " It is the space/ region around a charge in which it shows its influence/ effect"
    Is that as per this definition Electric field should have same units as of region/space ie m^3.
    Unfortunately some books even write it is the area around.......
    And some books write
    Electric field is space
    But
    Electric field intensity is electric force/charge.

    Good morning sir.
    Many books and coaching center modules provide an equation for FORCE BETWEEN TWO POINT CHARGES KEPT IN A DIELECTRIC MEDIUM .In that equation k (dielectric constant) is found as an extra quantity in denominator , as compared to force between two point charges in free space .
    Now my question is why should force between two charges change due to change in medium? Doesn't the word BETWEEN refers to ACTION - REACTION pair between the two charges ? How can ACTION - REACTION pair change even if new charges due to polarization also come into action because SUPERPOSITION PRINCIPLE says force between two charges doesn't change by presence or absence of third charge(s) .
    And using this equation some some books have even given expression for force BETWEEN two point charges when medium inbetween them is partially filled with dielectric by using the equation . I haven't seen any well reputed book containing such equations.
    Hope Sir you will surely discuss this in any of your videos.

    • @AvikGupta-ch7oh
      @AvikGupta-ch7oh 9 месяцев назад

      Because in medium we have electrons protons etc. So, they create polarization thats why that polarization decrease the force ,for better understanding read about polarization

    • @jsaifi7402
      @jsaifi7402 9 месяцев назад

      @@AvikGupta-ch7oh
      But what about superposition principle which says action- reaction force between two charges is not affected if you bring some other charges ...whether by polarization or by any other method ?
      Why does Sears & zemansky say on page 696 :
      "Strictly speaking, Coulomb’s law as we have stated it should be used only for
      point charges in vacuum"

    • @DipamSen
      @DipamSen 9 месяцев назад +1

      Guess what, you're right. The coulombic force between two charges is ALWAYS of magnitude F = (1/4piε0) q1q2/r^2, independent of the medium between them. But, in case there is a dielectric medium between them, then there are other induced/polarised charges in the medium whose forces we also need to consider, to get the net force on a charge. In the case of two like charges in a medium, the NET FORCE (repulsive) on a charge will be effectively decreased, as there are induced charges in the medium which attract this charge.
      So, what books usually refer to when they say that the "electrostatic force decreases in a dielectric medium", is actually that "the net force on a charge will be less than the actual coulombic force, due to induction of charges". Depending on the properties of the medium, we see that this "reduction of force" is usually linearly proportional to the original force itself, which is why this reduction can be signified, just by dividing the force by the constant, (which can be calculated, and is K (dielectric constant), characteristic of a medium's extent of polarisation)
      To summarize, the COULOMBIC FORCE due to q1 on q2 is still the same. But in presence of a medium there are other charges, which when accounted for, give a NET FORCE to be reduced by the K-factor.

    • @jsaifi7402
      @jsaifi7402 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@DipamSen
      Thanks a lotttttt.
      Actually so called authors have made a mess.
      In place of writing NET FORCE ON A CHARGE IN A MEDIUM is given by........, they write FORCE BETWEEN TWO CHARGES IN A MEDIUM is given by......... The language BETWEEN refers to mutual action -reaction which in no way can mean same as NET FORCE ON A CHARGE.
      Another point is that regarding this equation of force between two charges in a medium is that in his book Richard Feynman says ( naming this equation as 10.29)
      " Most older books on electricity start with this equation . This is a point of view which is thoroughly unsatisfactory. For one thing it is true only for a world filled with a liquid and for material in general k is only appropriately constant.
      Thanking you one again for the time given.

      @@jsaifi7402 Here's a quote from the same chapter that I found while reading, which talks about this point:
      "Today we look upon these matters from another point of view, namely, that we have simpler equations in a vacuum, and if we exhibit in every case all the charges, whatever their origin, the equations are always correct. If we separate some of the charges away for convenience, or because we do not want to discuss what is going on in detail, then we can, if we wish, write our equations in any other form that may be convenient."
      (Here separation of charges for convenience refers to not taking into effect the induced/polarised charges and the forces due to them, but just calculating the net force by dividing the coulombic force by K)

    Multiplication means repeated addition in arithmetics then what is meaning of product in vectors (dot and cross)
    Please guide.

    • @chiragsingla.
      @chiragsingla. 9 месяцев назад

      there is no meaning as such. its a useful quantity and each has different application.
      dot product - it can tell how similar two vectors are.
      for 0 angle its max. for pi/2 its 0 and for pi it's -1.
      vector product is used to find normal to two vectors.
      its useful for displaying graphics. for e.g. in raytracing a light vector falls on the object and then calculates cross product with the surface normal vector which tells it where light will bounce to. this happens for every pixel and the light ray bounces for a set number of times.
      so when you play a game with rtx on. 1920*1080*x calculations are happening every 1/fps time. and now do this for 4k. gpus are powerful

    Hello sir I have a question.... please give me the answer of the question 🙏
    What is the difference between this two questions
    1) two hollow spheres have radii r1 and r2 have same charge on their surface. ratio of electric potential???
    2)two hollow spheres have radii r1 and r2 have same electric field on their surface. ratio of electric potential???

    • @User213-z5f
      @User213-z5f 6 дней назад +1

      So in first it is saying the charges are same so it is not necessary that electric field and potential will be same as there radii are not same...
      But in second question if electric field is same at the surface then it means that the charges and radii of two spheres are not same..
      Their ratios are same but the individual charges and there radii both are different in second case..

    I am Ayush from 10th class.
    In my book(NCERT), the potential difference is defined as difference of electric potential between two points in an electric circuit carrying some current as the work done to move a unit charge from one point to the other.
    In this definition there are three major things that are distance, energy consumed aur work done, quantity of electrons moved.
    So the formula should be 1volt = 1 joule*1metre/1 coulumb
    But why distance is ignored...?
