I would go a step further and suggest both a headlamp for general hands-free use, and a penlight for pupillary response and other tasks. Extra points if they work with AA or AAA cells. Everything should run on the same battery tipe (oxipulsimeter, blood pressure monitor, lights...)

Great video on first aid kit . The pencil is a propelling pencil, when led wears down pull out the white part & led from front & push the white plastic led holder in the back end of pencil. Cheers from Australia Dave
Nice kit. I like the waterproof case, and everything seems well organized. For the meds you added I would include some 81mg aspirin, for heart attacks or strokes.
i carry a surviveware medkit with a recon medical bleed kit plus chest seals when i go out camping or hiking serious areas. the surviveware is my fave non-trauma kit company, their style of organization is the best labelled and easiest to restock or direct someone elses use ive ever come across.
I checked on the combine dressing: These multi-layered and highly absorbent pads make for the perfect wound care solution. The combine dressing is most commonly used to pack large bleeding wounds after initial bleeding has been controlled, however they are useful in other scenarios as well.
Awesome kit! I bought the non-waterproof kit, large kit which is basically the same, but includes a 50-piece mini kit which I wanted for the bike. This kit is probably one of the top 2 or 3 best IFAKs on Amazon IMO, and although all might need items added, there is plenty of room to make these ideal for individual needs.
It is not a bad little kit for those with basic or not first aid trainning. FYI that piece of folded plastic with the airway valve and face printed on it is called a face sheild. You were correct that its use is for protecting both people well proforming CPR. Just thought you should know😁
you can remove the tip of the pencil and put it in again in the white circle down , so that it will push another tip up . so u don't have to use a sharpener
I would have added a small headlamp, my thoughts on one that would fit is the Petzl-e+LITE, it is tiny, just larger thn a box of regular wood matches WITH headband, uses lithium batteries (long shelflife) and has several brightness settings (one red).
Just a comment on your med envelopes. I prepare similar pill envelopes of meds for all my kits but in each little baggie I also include a slip of paper with med name, dosage, what used for (ie nausea, pain, allergy, etc) and expiration date. You may know what that color/shape of pill is but not every grabbing the kit will. I like to pack the little individual pill bags with the maximum dosage allowed per 24 hour period so I know if I give one away or anyone else uses it they cannot easily overdose on whatever it is
I am a South African and I have purchased two survive ware products. Very happy with them. I got the small first aid and the larger survival/first aid combo kit. Both are very good quality in my book.
One more point about tourniquets, people that actually know how to use them probably wouldn't trust one that comes in a Chinese kit. In my opinion, the lack of medicines and tourniquet are actually a plus since it makes the kit cheaper and, you showed those can be added without issues.
Definitely add a tourniquet. But I'd say that's at least a hundred dollar kit or less. Not a bad deal. Actually shocked to not see meds, ointment or hydrocortisone in this one
I like the pencil they chose I may well add some of them, you always have a sharp end with those ones. (Plus when I was a wee kid, I was well jealous of the since I didn't have one...)
I agree. This is a pretty good kit, for the price. Seems to be put together pretty well. I liked how they include multiples of alot of the stuff, such as the eye patches. I did notice that there are no face diapers 🤗. Great review.
Glad I watched to the end. Was just fixing to comment that “there’s usually always enough room for a SWAT-T”, and then, bang, you brought it out. Good job and nice kit. Thanks!
You pretty much covered it all with what you added, but there were two other things you might want to add. I would have added a pack of Kleenex, a couple of Tampons and some female sanitary pads. Those last two are great for wounds, especially the tampons for gun wounds, but also if the person you suddenly needs them the trip your on can turn south really quick. I unfortunately know that from personal experience. Why she didn’t pack those personal items when we portaged two days in a canoe in Algonquin park I’ll never understand. My family always said that if you are still talking to each other after you spend a week in Algonquin, then your meant to be together. Lol
Tampons are great for absorbing blood, but not for applying pressure, which is the primary method of stopping bleeding. If you have the time to prepare (as one does when making a first aid kit), there are better solutions such as pressure bandages (Israeli, etc.) and hemostatic gauze. The Kleenex tissues or antibacterial wet wipes would be a great addition though.
@@Inko_Inko The idea of using a tampon for a gun wound is a valid. Actually tampons have been used for gun wound dressing for years. Of course pressure is required, pressure plus a tampon in the wound saves lives. Tampons will expand and fill the cavity left from the bullet or knife. This creates provides pressure in all directions. Of course you also need to apply a pressure bandage over it, but with that and the tampon inside the wound applying pressure outwards, you have greatly improved the odds of survival for the wounded person. The tampon is also used in those situations where you cannot compress the wound. DARPA put out a request for companies to design an infield dressing for bullet wounds. The item that they would use as a base line was actually a tampon. They wanted something that would work better. The final winner was one that had small sponges in a large injector that when used the small sponges would expand and stop the bleeding. So they took a perfectly good 25 cent tampon and replaced it with a $500 copy that didn’t do as good as a job as the tampon. Lol. Pretty typical of the military.
@@maureenstrang6130 sorry but I’m not understanding your reply. I’m old so I often don’t understand when people use acronyms in their answers. Drives my kids crazy. But I learn, hence my asking you. If I offended you, I’m Canadian so I apologize for everything, please don’t take it that way. It’s just that no one ever includes women products 8n their survival kits. I get these tiny pen lights at my Dollar store. Nothing fancy just a tiny pen light that runs off of button cells.. I stick one of these and all my first aid and survival kits.. just one setting on and off.. but they are extremely bright for a tiny pen light with button cells
I agree with the price tag personally I'm not sure I could build one like that cheaper than $100 maybe if I was able to order it cheaply from Amazon and as always thank you for your superb presentation and I like this kit.
Pretty cool little med kit. Always look forward to a new vid of yours dropping. If you ever get the chance, I’d love to see you do a review of otbarchitecture’s “utility belt survival kit system” from their eBay store.
Not a bad little kit. It doesn't seem too expensive. It has a nice case. You are paying a price for the case and the organization. First aid supplies are relatively inexpensive
Never have I heard of them used as splinter probes lol. I can sorta see it, if its the thicker ones. I love that being able to pull it all out that way though!
Very nice kit but I would leave it in that plastic bag that it comes with for extra protection. I don't have problems with medication coming from China because most of our medication comes from China. Trying to put a kit like that together yourself will cost quite a bit of money and lots of time finding all those little pieces one by one. Most people who are working 9 to 5 don't have time to put these things together. I'm a retired Carpenter 6 years ago. When I retired I sold 50% of my equipment and 99% of it was made in China. After many years of using it everything was still in perfect working shape.
A small flash light would be very handy.

I finally got the correlation of kit bashed survival. We used to use that term when putting multiple kits together to build models.
You got it!
The tourniquet should be added on the outside of the kit for quick access in an emergency. That's what the loops on the bottom are for.
I'm not usually a big fan of attaching things to the outside of kits, but yeah that's an idea.

I add blood stopper to all my first aid/trauma.. kits ..2 pack of blood stopper powder $5 Walmart camping section!
I look forward to your videos more than anything else on RUclips. Keep up the amazing work! Thank you so much for the content. Ryan
You can use the triangle bandage as a tourniquet too.
Reading glasses for wound inspection, or am I just old? You'll need a Sharpie to write on the patient forehead the time you applied the tourniquet.
ThankS for doing these! It saves me money and I get to watch over and over to get ideas!
