The lend lease program was ultimately what kicked the US war industry into shape and after making loads of money after the WW2 the military industrial complex decided to not go back to sleep.
No doubt, lend lease helped - but I think there was also an expectation of us being dragged into the war directly, and needing even more production. Through the mid-late 30s, we stockpiled machine tools, anticipating a substantially increased need.
The military industrial complex almost went back to sleep then Korea happened and we almost lost it at first then some politicians started saying if they can beat us in Korea what's to stop them from beating us in California and the military industrial complex never shut down after that. It should of went back to sleep after the fall of the Soviet Union but there's to much money in it with too many politicians on both sides owning stocks in these defense companies.
The bit that annoys me about this focus tree is that Five-Star General Douglas MacArthur would never agree to honour the Confederacy since his father fought them as a boy.

@@thatguy3421 I feel a scenario like that could work, but I think he's doing like he did with the USSR or Russia against a Communist World or with this, is having a country being a different ideology against a world that turned to their starting ideology, in this case having Germany or Japan going Monarchist or Non-Aligned against a Fascist World makes a little more sense both Germany, and Japan both start as fascist nations in HOI4, but having a Monarchist Germany against a Communist World scenario can also work.
