Thank you so much for sharing this video (pt 5-6-7) helped me to repair an old armchair that I could not afford to. Have professionally upholstered. Such a valuable video and your explanation is so understanding.. Thanks again and god bless
OMW! You have SO saved me! I am restoring a 60+ year old Chesterfield rocking chair. The spring set up had disintegrated and I was CLUELESS as to how to fix it all back into place! I am so grateful to you! Regards from South Africa!
Thank you so much! This video (pt 6 & 7) helped make it possible for me to repair my 89 year old Dad's favorite chair without breaking his budget...very grateful!!!
I have an old spring rocking chair. Now I know why it is expensive for new reupholstering. I have to watch this more then once. I have never done this before. Great video. I wish I could have you do my chair. I do want to attempt it. Your time and knowledge is so worth it. Thanks for sharing.
Don't know, I have never tried that. It would not be cost effective on my end, but for a do it yourselfer it might be worth looking into. Keep in mind that the coils would have to be as tall and as thick as the original chair springs to work. My first impression would be the coils in a mattress would be to soft.
Upholstery supply prices can fluctuate from region to region. You can check with your local upholster, go on line or visit my web site to get an idea on cost.
Jeweller5: The newer furniture mfg. are using cardboard instead of webbing because it is much cheaper., but the webbing will last much longer. You can replace the cardboard with cardboard if you want, but the webbing is better. The method I showed is for horsehair, but your chair did not come with horsehair. You can add it if you would like to, but you can stick with what you have also. The horsehair will outlast your frame. If you use fiberfill the string will not be required. Sorry this response is kind a late and I hope you can find it. RUclipss new way for me to respond to comments really SUCKS!
I have standard base prices, but if additional work is required the price gos up accordingly. My prices are fair, but I like to quote on a per project bases. If you have a piece in mind just email me pictures and I can send you a quote which is subject to change upon personal inspection. It does not matter to me where you live, if you can get it to me, I will work on it.
