    This technique is like a secret weapon. The intricacy itself is something I may have never thought of unless I saw it in live action with this video. Thank you, JFilt.

    I have so much respect for this guy it’s crazy! you’re my first producer i’ve seen person on youtube that’s not about the flashy shit and really about old school hip hop. all love!! ❤️

    Yessir! My fav kick pattern in a Jay Dee beat is prolly Track 12 off his ‘98 tape or Bullsh*t - Pharcyde. Thank you Filt!

    J is the epitome of PMA. POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE
    If I can add to this knowledge. Try the count as ONE EEE AND UH
    My long time drummer brother laid that gem on me as a kid. Easy 16th note count.

    I get the idea but just wish the drum was louder to hear it over everything else so new viewers to the channel knew what they were listening for in the beginning then lower it down to the regular volume to get the full grasp. Would you ever attempt to do a J Dilla remix JFilt style?🤔👍

    Thank you man! You helped me doing an exam in digital sampling techniques at my university. My challenge was to built a J Dilla type beat. I have not finished yet, but you helped me so much by doing this with this Dilla series. You inspired me to just have fun with sound and music and you motivated me so good with your positive energy! :)

    I usually just leave the kick on grid hit the snare a micro step early and every second hihat a micro step late and it gives that dilla swing .or if your using a sampler something that only plays on grid you can chop your samples a hair early and late to get the same effect if u get me

      Early RZA/WU -TANG was all Ensoniq EPS and then the ASR-10... The first 100 wu-tang songs were made with the ASR-10... Originally RZA started wit the Sp-1200 but then made the tranzition to Ensoniq EPS & ASR 10 quickly realizing he could move past the simple one bar loops many producers were utilizing at that time. When he got the EPS, he started making 2 bar loops. 4 bar loops. Nobody was doing that... he fell so in love with the Ensoniq line up of keyboard work stations that he didn’t care about the SP-1200 no more. STRAIGHT FACTS!!

    • @alpinemedina1422
      @alpinemedina1422 3 года назад +1

      Greatest underrated producer of all time is RHAKIM... Believe it or not but NOT only did he write100% of his own rhymes but he also conceptualized, composed & produced 85% of his earliy albums... Alot of people think it was Eric B... BUT RHAKIM was the true crate digger... He was the one who hand picked those vinyl gems and coordinated his own song arrangements.. Rhakim use to walk into a fresh studio sessions with the vinyl under his arm he intended to make a beat with that day... And then he along with Eric-b & sound engineer would commense to constructing the beat for the rhyme he'd written... Next time u have a free moment - go listen to the lyrics, the Rhyme flow & production on "FOLLOW THE LEADER" Probably one of the most cutting edge, advanced, hybrid examples of hardcore MC'ing & raw - sinister sampled beat production to ever flow through the veins of hip hop culture
