Ford never admitted he was an artist. Which is all he ever was.

Coolest man on earth ever. Love him and his movies; wish we still had more guys like him.

The fact that he despises TV commercials make me admire him that much more

Actually, I believe Ford was telling the truth and don’t believe Ford is pretending. There is another interview where Ford was describing the very beginning of the movie business. I was fascinated until the interviewer interrupted, changed the subject to politics and it went down hill from there. It was an opportunity lost. No wonder Ford gets testy. The news people want controversy and think that must be what they’re taught in school.

I know that Lynch did an excellent job in the Fablemans, but if I had to choose a man - another director who also acted, by the way - to play old John Ford, it would've been Dan O'Bannon. The resemblance in their attitude, gestures, tone of voice is uncanny.

“There’s never been a successful remake.” That stands true today.

Well, he made a remake of one of his own movies, and it was pretty damn good.

It’s clear and pretty obvious why it’s a rare interview 😂🤣 John Ford punched the “Prosecutor” by the end!

I find it hard to believe that Ford wasn't over enthusiastic about his great films like Stagecoach and The Searchers, or was this just bullshit. Whatever, he was a wonderful director and a great character.
