It’s scar tissue, as long as it’s not red, swollen or has pus coming out of it. It’ll go down as it heals, but it you can tolerate the pain start applying pressure on a pushing motion. It’ll help it smooth out and go down

Try putting some peroxide on a cotton ball put it on that spot that's red hold it there about a minute or two, Maybe dab a tap of Vaseline or Neosporin and put a bandaid on it, If You are in pain take an over the counter pain pill, I hope You will try it And hope You feel better 👍🎄 HAPPY HOLIDAYS Gary.

If you had stitches, it Maybe the residuals from them. I had a similar cut 2 years ago, and the stitches interfered with the cicatrice process. It needed a long time to heal because my body was rejecting the residue of the material left from the stitches. And with the redness, it has to be infected, or unhealed from the inside

It can be infected if it has any leakage. Signs and symptoms are infection is, swelling, redness, pain, leakage/pus. Or it is healed wrong and forming a keloid. Remember that your hand are used more often than any part of the body. Therefore you have to constantly perform frequent hand washing hygiene. When in doubt go to the ER and they can give you some antibiotics. Hope that helps.
