    Also for anyone who is restoring a vintage police car that was originally equipped with this type of shotgun this would be ideal. Years ago I had a friend that was a CHP officer and at that time besides their sidearms they had Remington 870's that were dashboard mounted. It was always cool to see that 12 gauge mounted in the car.

    I just got mine! I think I need to tighten a few screws here and there however, because the stock is wobbling from side-to-side, and the tube magazine is a tad loose from the barrel. Now I have to find one of those pesky, goddamn alan keys. Great review though!

      +Ben Watterson It's a great airsoft gun. Quite accurate. If you're looking for a good
      shotgun at a decent price that you can upgrade this is the rout to go.
      Not only it is better made then other ones in it's price range but
      thanks to Remington 870s being popular they make all sorts of toys you
      can add to them. It can also be a cheaper sniper rifle for a casual
      player with proper optics.

    I got this gun from Evike recently and I have to say for the price I am impressed. It was on sale for 75 bucks and I think the shipping was 12 bucks so it was a great deal. I've always been a fan of pump shotguns and having owned a few I thought it would be a cool toy to play around with. It's very realistic looking and weighs about the same as a real one. As in the video it is a bit hard to pump, I have an old Winchester 1200 and it's much easier to pump than this, haha! It shoots pretty hard, I haven't shot anyone with it so I'm not sure how bad it hurts but I'll bet it hurts like hell at close range. But I shot an apple at close range and all the bb's easily penetrated it. Anyways if you want a cool looking collectable replica 870 at a low price this is pretty rad, the only thing is when I got it from Evike it looked used but that's because they test them to make sure they work properly. Just a bit of wear, nothing bad at all. I really like this, you will too!!

    • @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707
      @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707  9 лет назад

      Can't disagree that it does take some effort to pump and likely not the best choice for smaller or younger people interested. But it's because of that hard pump that it can get such good FPS and good distance

    Any idea if it would take Magpul SGA stock/handguard parts without modification? Fairly certain the stock would work fine, but the front end I'm not too sure about. Any advice appreciated.

    • @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707
      @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707  9 лет назад

      +Neur0tic666 The butt stock on this should take other screw on designs. Like the real M870 this stock is held on with a single screw in it's center. Only different is the real one is also held on with two additional pins. But this doesn't get nearly the same pressure so it doesn't need it. I know there's a video online out of China where a guy put a folding stock on one of these then he completely change the internals in other to be able to load and fire like a tri shot. Though I'm not going to bother doing it, it does show that it can be altered. Same as what you want to change. Though it will depends on how much work you're willing to put into it I guess. I haven't changed the stock on mine so I cannot testify to how hard or easy or possible it is

    • @Neur0tic666
      @Neur0tic666 9 лет назад

      +Battleturtle I figured the stock would fit okay, main concern is the handguard. Seems to be a different kind of attachment within the current one.

      +ultimate airsoft The short answer, no there is nothing wrong with it. If you understand how a shotgun works then it makes sense as to why the grip wiggles. In fact when I got it I didn't even think anything of it until someone else had brought it up because the S&T 870 airsoft shotgun has pretty much the same amount of wiggle as my real shotgun. The reason is the grip is covering a metal drum that is free floating between the barrel on top and the tube magazine on bottom. Attached to that are two metal guides which you can see on the outside of the gun. When cocking the gun these two push into the frame, load, and re-cock the gun to fire. Unlike most other airsoft shotguns which are tight fitting into frames not meant to come apart, this one is designed more like a real one in this regard. That is why it wiggles. It's secure on the gun and the grip allows it to look nice, have a good handle to work with, and and keep the free floating part from falling out of the side.

    Hello and nice review! Have you any experience with G&P Shotguns? This gun looks quite similar to the G&P offerings, if it were a clone that would be very good news since there is a lot of parts support (relatively) for them.
    Very cool if it does indeed function a Quick-Access spring as well, my G&P was a nightmare to take apart.

    • @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707
      @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707  9 лет назад

      +Matthew Dickerson I don't own a G&P but have been tempted to buy one because they are nice looking airsoft shotguns and have a wide variety of designs. S&T seems to be a well liked company for offering decent airsoft guns at good prices. Is it high quality steel and hard wood? No of course not. But it is a step up from plastic guns and thanks to Remington 870s popularity there are a lot of things that can be added onto the gun. The spring is very easy to get at. The hardest part is just finding a screw driver long enough to reach the screw in the butt stock base. It's about 8 inches deep into the stock. I used an extension rod on my torque wrench with Phillips head bit to get it unscrewed. But once the butt is off you just need a large Allen Key (the slot for it is in the top of the frame, easy to find) and push it in, give it a half turn, and the spring and spring guide slides right out. It's tricky getting it back in because it needs lined back up and takes a few tries to line it up properly. Its frankly really easy once you do it once

      The g&p's are pretty alright guns, rather pricey and suffer from a few faults but where they really shine are the parts, example is they resell the piston that often breaks in shotguns! Does this gun have adjustable hopup? Perhaps check under the barrel right ahead of the end of the reciever,? Are there two grub screws on the sides of the barrel in that location?
      Yes, i had the same issue with the stock on my G&P, I had to use a pair of pliers to hold the longest screwdriver i could find so i could torque the screw. Regardless, sounds pretty good, when i took my G&P Apart the first thing to happen was me shattering the piston on reassembly, a costly (though fixable) mistake, so definitely urge caution if you are going to take it apart further.

    • @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707
      @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707  9 лет назад

      +Matthew Dickerson I did forget to talk about the hopup, forgive me for that. It is very conveniently located on the S&T 870. Its right on the top of the barrel where it comes off of the frame. It's a single screw and it comes with the Allen Key to adjust it. There's even white paint writing around it with "hopup" so you have no trouble finding it. I also did contact S&T about extra parts and their response leads me to believe that they are a clone company. That the internals are likely bought from another company like G&P or Tokyo and put into their own frame. I don't know how hard replacing the spring on the G&P is but other then properly aligning the one is this it's very easy to feel is it's in correctly or not. Though I wouldn't recommend messing around with any of the internals unless you have to but it's good to know how to do it in case you have to. Like I do with my real guns, I take it apart to know exactly how it runs. I did order a lighter spring from another company for this that goes up to 390 fps max and waiting for it in the mail so I can use it at one of my local CQB sites that limits FPS to 400 and under. This can go up to 421 fps so it won't pass.

    Do you know where I could buy a rail for this gun? I really need to mount some optics, because as it stands this is more useful as a long range rifle than a shotgun. On another note, great gun and great review.

    • @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707
      @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707  8 лет назад

      Yes, actually you can though I have never tested it to see how well it fits. There are a lot of part that were made for the real Remington 870 shotguns. A saddle rail does exist. It sits on top of the guns frame so you can mount some form of optics, lights, or anything else. Here is the link to one on ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/Tactical-Side-Saddle-Optics-Rail-Mount-for-Remington-870-12-GA-Shotgun-/231643882342?hash=item35ef0d2366:g:-RIAAOSwd0BVwoR-

      Due to the fact that the S&T M870 has only one pin that goes all of the way through the gun you'd likely have to either carefully drill out another hole; carefully being the word to make sure you don't damage anything. or just use the one hole already there and to help secure it from flopping around maybe some metal bonding epoxy. Another option could be to hit your local hardware stores to find screws the same thickness as the ones holding the trigger guard on and get them slightly longer. So you can run the pin through the back saddle and run the screws through the front holes of the saddle if they line up

    Did you get a chance to measure it, I was wondering if its a 1:1 scale, I would be using it for a film and I want it to look accurate.

      @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707  9 лет назад

      +Pure Luxury Films I don't own a Remington 870 and no one that I know does. I have only ever seen them before and held one some years ago before purchasing this. So I honestly cannot attest to a 100% exact scale but they are pretty damn close if they're not. It still is a full sized airgun and in no ways miniature. It's the same general size as my Mossberg shotgun

      +CRASHTIMEWARP Sure no problem. The red laser sight was around a $14 attachment purchased on ebay. Its great for inside and close range use. Beyond 25 yards it starts to become had to see. It's more of a quick targeting system for close range engagements. The flashlight is a basic gun LED light, around $12 or so.
      This is the light with battery charger. Though the pressure switch on these is complete crap and you might be able to find a cheaper one without it

    compared to other spring shotguns, how is the cocking?

    • @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707
      @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707  9 лет назад

      +Brighton Collver It is stiff and hard to get used to at first. It loosens up a little over time and I've also gotten used to it. I'd say if you have ever fired a lower fps shotgun, like a tri-shot, you certainly will notice the difference. Takes more effort and strength to work it. But it pays off in it's range and accuracy. The first time I took this out I was able to nail a guy dead in the head who was shooting at me through a window and another guy who was laying on the ground behind a car shooting at us from around 30 yards distance. The tricky part is sighting it in and getting the hop-up just where you want it. I set mine to hit target at 70 feet so I have to elevate it at longer ranges. This is with the hop-up almost completely off mind you to give you an idea of the power it has. Unlike my Thompson which even with the hop-up all of the way off it shoots around 8 inches high at 60 feet.

    • @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707
      @battleturtleairsoftandguns5707  8 лет назад

      The internals held up for as long as I had it, about a year. Though it does have a lot of plastic internals. Springs are a pain to find and need to be located outside of an airsoft source to get the exact size and tension that you want. S&T doesn't make any after market springs for it sadly. With the stock spring it does shoot around 405-415 fps. Which is the reason why I sold it. Not because the fps was too high, I just used it as a sniper class and it had the range for it. I had to get rid of it because it was irritating my back injury that I got at work about a decade ago and became too much for me due to the pain I would be in at the end of the day after using it.

      +Brighton Collver Most likely they do. I only own the one A&K magazine for this and it fits and feeds perfectly. This is my go to gun for my local outdoors site. But it's too high of an FPS to use at the indoor one close to me. And I have yet to have any issue with either the S&T magazines or the A&K one

    I have owned both a Tri-shot and a Single-shot Airsoft Shotgun and all i can say is, i can't wait for this baby to arrive, should be here in the next 4 days. Single-shot is where it's at, since it doesn't shoot 3 BB's at once, it hits harder and is definitely a lot more accurate. From what i've seen from Tri-shots, the power is...disappointing, range...horrible and accuracy disgusting! Unless you go for those Tri-shots or 10+ BB shooting Shotguns that cost somewhere around $500-$1000. But if you're not willing to spend such amounts of money or on a tight budget wanting Shotguns with nice accuracy, power and range, Single-shot Shotguns are the way to go. I guess Tri-shots would be ok for some CQB action, but THAT'S IT! With a Single-shot you can literally engage your targets from a much greater distance than a Tri-shot ever could! ✌

      +Arnie Graf Yeah I wouldn't trust them not having issues with accuracy. They'll also go really, really fast. With .20 gram bbs I can get this up at 421 FPS. With .12 bbs you'll likely see close to 500 fps. And the chance that it might actually break the bbs inside of the gun due to the pressure. I have seen it already smash .23 bbs when they feed in wrong due to user error
