Corrections: the "original team of Harvest Moon" - which is Marvelous, Inc. btw - didn't split from Natsume and started making "their own thing". Natsume was only responsible for the localization of the Bokujou Monogatari games in North America and Europe. In 2014 Marvelous - the developer (and publisher in Japan)! - decided they wanted to do the localization themselves. Unfortunately to them Natsume owned the name Harvest Moon, so they had to choose a different name for their North American and European releases. It was then Natsume that decided to get a developer to make games for them under the name Harvest Moon. So yeah, they are essentially thiefes.

Story of Seasons is way way better, font think theres any HM from Natsume that is actually a good game😅
I probably won't since I was so disappointed by One World.....unless you make it look super fun 🤷
One world was such a let down
I haven't bought any of the Natsume HM games since the split. The graphics look pretty cute but since Natsume keeps lying about their HM resume, I'm hesitant to give them any money even if they finally manage to make a good game. So far, I feel like all they've been doing is extremely lazy cash grabs while they hide the fact they aren't actually the HM everyone grew up with. I'll be interested in seeing a review about it before I decide to buy it.

I completely agree. I saw an article where they were talking about "their" decades-long legacy and I am sickened by the blatant deception. If their games didn't suck they could sell without the HM branding and actually build their own legacy. I won't give money to these people and just on principle, I won't even give them my time even though I could get the game free if I wanted 💅
I feel like both HM and SoS have had a massive drop in quality after the split. Harvest moon is ugly and clunky (never bought them after the split so can't say about story) whereas SoS is just boring and souless and their re-makes aren't adding anything new to get excited about (FoMT was the biggest disappointment ever). A new beginning was the last 'good' game from the franchise/s but I'm hoping that this new HM game will be good and will at least try and raise the bar in this stagnating genre.
@@georgiascarlett9679 I disagree. SoS Trio of Towns is my #1 favorite game in the franchise, even above the old HM games before the split. Everything about that game is just so good.
I’m still not used to calling it Story of Seasons lol, but I’m sooo excited for the AWL remake! This one I’m probably not gonna get, but I’ll definitely watch your streams/videos of it
I don't call it "Story of Seasons", nor do I call Natsume's pathetic nonsense "Harvest Moon" 😆 it's more confusing to people who aren't long time players but less confusing for me!
Planning to watch people to review the game then buy it if I like it enough or need a new game depending on the SoS one and how fast I finish that one

I'll likely buy it. I knew about the split and One World was very disappointing to me. But im also addicted to farming games. I appreciate the forewarning to temper expectations tho cuz I usually forget to

In all honestly, the screenshots and gameplay look and seem great! So much potential and the horse is way better in this game than in the AWL remake (idk how that makes sense) 😭😭 but I will definitely watch reviews and gameplay before even thinking of buying it!

I immediately skipped this game because it is a knock off of Natsume harvest moon game & Natsume are the laziest company ever & they trick their fans to buy their game instead of marvelous game in my personal opinion
The last harvest moon game I played was on the PS2 and it may have had better graphics than all the screenshot you showed

The screen shot seem to be extremely deceiving if u really digest them, alot of empty space and "cheapin" out in places like all trees r the same etc. Like the hud not recentering when u go from outside to inside. All houses look the same....just alot of cutting corners it seems..which is typical from this company for a long time now.
Thanks for the video, I wanne see some gamesplay's to decide. From what I see now it looks realy nice. I never bought the HM games after tey split because the graphics and game play looked soooo bad. But I hope I like it after seeing gameplay's and give it a try! 😁

I’m definitely not going to make the mistake I did with One World. Loved the concept and ideas, but the execution on that game was so bad. I played for a few weeks until Pioneers of Olive Town came out, then traded it in to GameStop 😕

I'm more interested in the new harvest moon game than the wonderful life remake.
The new harvest moon game looks decent so far. A wonderful life on the other hand seems a bit bland outside of the life aspect.
However, I don't exactly know that harvest moon is going to pull off a game that is as good as their promotional material.
Being pretty doesn't mean it won't play like trash.
We will have to wait and see. But im hopeful and I'm going to buy both either way. Gotta give it a fair shot after all.
Probably won't buy this unless it gets glowing reviews..... Both SOS and HM haven't really impressed me much since Trio of Towns. More of a Rune Factory girl now lol.
Indie farming games really raised the bar for the farming sim genre (and not just Stardew Valley). Does this game look better than past Natsume Harvest Moon games, yes. Will it match up to the ton of other farming games we have out there to play. Absolutely not. Indie devs are experimenting with new mechanics, more progressive marriage systems, much better graphics, and the best Winds of Anthos can pitch to us is, "You can farm and there are animals and a horses you can ride?" It's kind of laughable. I'll probably watch a Let's play of this game out of curiosity, but I have such a backlog of farming games, this one is going to be a pass for me. Not to mention Natsume has been shifty in using the Harvest Moon name to deceive us, I'm not going to forgive them for tarnishing the Harvest Moon brand.
Definitely buying this at launch. I played pioneers of olive town last year and playing friends of mineral town now! Very cozy and fun
The gamecube/wii/DS games were amazing. I dont know what happened once they hit the switch but the animation and everything is horrible now. Rune factory is better at this rate
No, those games are so boring and nothing new, the price is quite high for such content
I’m probably going to wait for your thoughts on the game before I try it, unless there is a demo or something. I picked up Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition from GameStop for $20 a few months ago and HATED the game. No wonder why it was so cheap!

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley was a real fresh piece of crap.
What really worries me is that you dont see like you get to choose tools in the screen shots, if you just have to stand in front of a rock or tree and just press the action button is a no buy for me, and thats sad cause the game looks beautiful

I'd more recommend the games that came out before The Lost Valley. Lost Vally and all the way up to to Anthos are not made by Marvelous the original developer

I'm not stunned that the release date for Winds of Anthos has been pushed back to September, but I am skeptical at how little information Natsume has put out about it since the initial announcement(s). It gives me the impression that they're rushing this one out the door and banking on the expensive pre-orders to net them some profits without ever revealing the full scope of the game before launch. I hope I'm wrong about that, but until they show us more of the actual gameplay, marriage candidates (we've still only seen 4 of 10), or anything tangible I'm not giving them even a red cent.

I bought One World and spent a pleasant evening with it. But when I was done for the night, some combination of poor instructions and maybe my stupidity lost my save. I probabably could have found a guide and figured out the same system, but I didn’t want to start over.
I've been buying story of seasons for awhile now while ignoring Harvest Moon because Harvest Moon hasn't always been the best at all but I might actually pick this game up because it seems like they are actually trying to put more effort into it.

I tried to play Story's of season on ds and one on switch.. but never really liked it. dunno
it lacks something. I prefer stardew valley, it has everything I wish for, I started playing it 2015 and still do.
Perhaps I will give it a try when it's in sale or something tho.
I’ve played a lot of SOS Pioneers of Olive Town, and really enjoy it. But it seems somehow shallower than Stardew.

I have never played any Harvest Moon games. I really appreciate the information you shared in this video. I am looking forward to the new Story of Seasons game coming out this summer because I’ve enjoyed most of the SOS games I’ve played. I might give this game a try. It looks pleasant.
