Contracts are a two way street
When your conference fails you, and makes sketchy moves behind your back aka adding SMU,Cal,and Stanford without a vote from all schools to create a bigger gap between voting in conference it’s hard to negotiate with a weasel conference who would rather play games then add contending programs and pay what other conferences pay. The acc teams are making 40 million less while Clemson and fsu bring in 35% of revenue together
Let's not forget that the ACC Commissioner didn't even bother to show for the meeting with the CFP committee to contend for FSU's selection into the CFP. Regardless of what you think of FSU's quality of play with their QB out due to injury, the guy had a duty to be there to advocate for 'his' program.
What is the ACC commissioner supposed to do? Shake down ESPN for more money at knife point? They signed a deal selling their media rights and decided after the fact they didn't get enough money for it. That's not the confrence failing them that's Clemson signing a bad contract and having buyers remorse. They need to pay up.
@@greenearth975 The acc didn’t stand behind their undefeated champion and Mr. Corrigan in fact made statements saying the acc wasn’t even considered power 5, not statements were made by the ACC who’s cousin is in fact in charge of the committee, aka they were upset with fsu coming out saying before season that they wanted to leave and looked the other way because it’s an unwritten rule you don’t speak out against your conference

If i was the Big 12 I'd offer some funds to help the legal battle in exchange for FSU and Clemson joining the conference. Is it feasible? Maybe not, but I'd see if it was possible to make some sort of quid-pro-quo. If not, then I'd want to see the ACC to succeed because having one other non B10 or SEC power conference adds some legitimacy and help incentivize the current schools to stay
The TV networks should think long and hard about disenfranching the 80% of football fans that don't root for national championship contenders. Their own greed is going to kill the golden goose.

Not only are they trying to soften the game with no defense but they are also attempting to make it so confusing while watching it with those kickoff rules and hip tackle crap. I won't know what the heck I'm looking at each play whether my team actually gained yards or made a legit stop until the refs approve it. This is such a garbage

I see the people in the NFL who need to justify their existence remain intent on driving me and my dollar away. They've succeeded. I'll not be watching in 2024-25.
