You have to respect overwatch for covering every possible element from lava, ice, lasers, punching even hacking and somehow balance all those to make everyone happy, this character looks extremely fun and I give props to them bringing in new ways to play the game

I'm waiting for a boomerang hero, or have a sort of boomerang ability that cleaves and returns back to them. I know we got Junkerqueen in a sense with how her knife comes back

I rly love how they’re meant to bust thru most defensive positions and be slippery as possible to fight. Just needs a bit more oomph now to rly throw their weight around.
honestly? I’d say venture is perfect as they are, which is a rare thing for a character on release! their combos are fun as all hell, their abilities can be dodged or mitigated with a bit of movement and strategy, and their AoE / splash damage of their basic fire doesn’t seem too large or too small! they have the potential to bring back a lot of fun dynamics to the game! makes me happy honestly :]
(edit: also, side note for the bit at 14:54 , your ult only goes through on the ground you’re standing on! so it’s not really recommended to be standing on boxes, little ledges, etc, just stay on the low ground!)
Agreed, their dmg isn't too crazy, and I heard some people say they do little dmg, but it stacks up well with the abilities. Venture is gonna be a combo orientated hero most likely, that is close to mid range, so would likely be played in rush, brawl comps or hell, a stretch could be dive with the mobility they get. When they emerge from the ground, it can be blocked by shields I noticed, and so does the ult, so getting around that is fairly simple and can be easy with barrier tanks. Cooldowns aren't too long or too short either I feel, probably the most balanced hero upon release so far.
My only complaint, as someone else put it, is that their best ability is essentially "reaper but better"

the engage is you burrow, then shift right away. then pop out at the last minute and you'll have your drill charge back.
I feel like they have more than just one go to engage. I think your mentioned method is good but personally I prefer to shoot around corners, if I get a good hit on someone I then dash in, then mele which usually kills then burrow to escape. This way I'm not limited to only out of position enemies and it's usually safer and keeps the abilities well rotated.
Also note that dashing underground doesn't hurt enemies as much and is better used as movement or a Boop.
But either way, pretty sure I'm maining this one in season 10 lol
shift is burrow. and if you’re burrowing in, then leaving with drill underground, you’re doing basically nothing with either cooldown.
just takes 1 cassidy to end all the fun of this hero :(

Very fun character imo. And surprisingly balanced, which is rare nowadays for ow.
They're definitely my new main, an absolute blast on the field and adorkable to boot!
Genuinely they're almost perfect as is.
Idk if anyone else has thought of it yet but I honestly think I would prefer if Venture just didn't have a projectile. I've been wanting to recreate that "melee" dps feel that og doomfist had.

Prediction: ML7 could be a great venture, to the same extent he’s a great Ana. He understands soft spots where he can stand and push/ fall back when needed. Venture seems like a mix between Ana and doomfist with the soft engages and understanding mobility and creative escapes. ML7 could be the venture goat
Also a lot of similarities to Moira/ Reaper with the fade mechanics. I just feel like ML7s brain with this character is going to be a match made in heaven
Dope character but I wish her primary fire was more like the rock Gauntlet on Spell Breakers.
You don't need to look at the ground to fire the ult off.
I think their range on primary needs a bigger explosion radius. Maybe extend the range of the explosion to but other than that I’m super excited for them!

Venture is like the anti mauga tbh. They’re sooooo fun to play AND play against! So many plays and counter plays as they need to dive IN to do their combos, opening up vulnerabilities. Gotta say I’m impressed

can you get healed by kiriko or like moira while drilling underground?
What does her ult do? It looks similar to Earth Shatter though but no stun. So just damage?

Their ult is more of an ability, doesn't feel like an ult
It's annoying they're not targetable while underground because it means clutch escapes are very easy to punish AND you can't be damage boosted for 2 of your abilities one of which hits very hard (the underground dash and the ground burst)

Honestly it makes no sense that they take doom of the dps roster but add a character like venture for the 2nd dps in ow2 if they wanted to reduce cc that’s fine but adding it back and forgetting about doom is crazy
They reduced CC and then found that some CC was still necessary. Mcree hinder for instance, that's to give some counter to heroes like tracer, that are impossible to pin down otherwise. Not saying Venture's CC is exactly necessary but the devs did realise CC isn't automatically bad. Hard CC like stuns is what they're being really careful with.
1:17 You didn't dodge shatter, shatter just sucks and didn't stun you. If shatter worked you've been stunned out of the digging cast animation.
ik venture is pretty op but like blizzard pls nerf PHARAH, I'm done getting targeted every single time. Atleast something related to the previous buff of projectile speed, the ult is pretty much uncounterable without shields and in my rank...it's just overused with mercy pockets still. The overall intention of the last pharah rework was to reduce the dependability on other characters such as mercy but let's just say it has made a mercy pocket even better SPECIFICALLY on the terms of projectile speed cus I can't heal out the amount of damage she does(ik I gotta switch and I do but it causes me to strictly be focussed on healing even over positioning), btw I'mma a support main on gold 1 rn(I can't get outta gold due to this issue peaking out in my matches on console).
Ana sleep dart or brig whip shot is best counter to pharahs ult in support. Well placed kunai headshots from kiri while she’s ulting can also work since pharah is a sitting duck while ulting. It sucks if she targeting you especially if your DPS refuse to go hitscan and won’t shoot her tho. As a fellow support main, I feel you but there are ways to counter… they just aren’t easy.
Sombras that spawn camp supports..... Increase Sombras hack by 2x is all I ask... Otherwise just getting hacked then virus and shot 2x will kill the support

I like the char, but all her skills seem to do the same thing. A good Cas and Soldier is her nightmare along with Phara.

She's supposed to be non-binary I think. I'm just defaulting to using "she" because I still find using "they" to refer to a known person to be unbearably awkward and strange and this is a made up character. Offending the woke crowd is a bonus side effect.
