Thank you for the videos. A comment and a couple of questions. Video quality is excellent. Sound is way too soft. It is difficult to hear. I would be happy to do some processing on it if you would like. It sounds like you wait two days between coats. Do you buff the varnish when it is dry? If so, how long between the final coat and buffing?

Thanks David. The sound is soft because I have not yet developed the stentorian voice needed to make workshop videos with my phone (I don't wear a mic, just use the sound the phone picks up.) Feel free to process if you like.
I do wait two days between coats, and I try to wait at least a week between the final coat and buffing. Buffing is achieved by flattening the varnish with 0000 steel wool, then polishing with tripoli powder mixed with linseed oil on a soft cloth. I have not yet done that on this lute--I left the choice whether to buff or leave the finish glossy with the new owner. He's still deciding.
