    Steve is the best teacher. He gets you where you need to go, but in a way that makes sense to you. He provides a map, not a route. Thanks you, sir!

    I had to stop in the middle of this to say you are an awesome teacher. I am also a teacher but I don’t teach the guitar I teach martial arts and the one thing I will say is that you could be really good in something but it doesn’t mean that you have the ability to teach. In order to be a good teacher you must have patience, you must be able to connect with your students, and you must be able to convey information in a way that everyone will understand it. You clearly have all those traits wrapped up in one so I just wanted to stop in the middle of this video and tell you thank you for being a great teacher! You’ve definitely earned my respect!

    Hi Mr.Stine, I like your teaching very much. Infact, I am a latecomer in youtube programs. I was playing guitar long ago 26 years ago in my College time but I left playing guitar because of my hectic life style as a Medical doctor but lately 3 months ago , I bought a guitar and started playing again. Now , I am 54 yrs old . I am again learning how to play well. I am watching your programs these days in youtube.. I spent more than two hours a day and doing finger exercises as you described here.

    • @stinemusiclessons
      @stinemusiclessons  6 лет назад

      That's so great to hear! Enjoy the practice, even when it's frustrating :-)

    • @thKish12
      @thKish12 6 лет назад

      Yes, indeed, it was quite frustrating as my fingers are not nimble and agile as I could imagine. Sometimes I feel a lot of pain in my left wrist because of stretching of my finger exercises on the fret board as well as flexing and inward rotation of my left wrist joint. Anyway after two months, now,the tip of fingers are hardened with less pain and atleast I can play well fast enough the Do Re Mi scale on the G scale. Now, I am completely away from my social life as I wanna be near the guitar most of the time in my room. Its like a real struggle but I am really committed to be a guitarist who can play atleast 100 songs and tour somewhere where I can entertain people around.

    Great study but I have a question. I may be confused but when you breakdown the strumming pattern it seems like it gets changed (start time at 7:00 mark) the second time around. The first time you scratch it sounds like it fits. Then the second time you scratch it as you say it it seems to change. Are we using both patterns or just the first?

    Hi Steve , I only been playing electric guitar a coupcouple years, I got an acoustic to learn on as well because I thought it would help me be a better electric guitar player... I strum with my right hand and I broke my 2nd to last finger (the one next to the pinky- its permanently damaged?) ,I can't make a full fist , do u think this will effect my future with learning acoustic because I'm thinking about how they do the finger picking ,I don't know that finger can do it as its already affected me with the bass, like I can only strum with 2 fingers I can't do the cool sounds with 3 fingers on the bass no more,,, any suggestions?

    • @lizh9009
      @lizh9009 7 лет назад

      I've played classical guitar in the past so picks are still a challenge for me (lol)-bought an acoustic/electric for a different tone....and I still use my fingers b/c its faster than using a pick (lol). I like to watch bass players because of their fingering techniques! Sam, can you bend your damaged finger in anyway? It might be worth it to go a "plastic" surgeon who works on hands-free up your tendon or have it so your finger is semi-bent. I had a cyst on my right fingering hand-on the middle finger tendon-had a piece of the tendon cut out and sewed up. The tendon stretched out by doing hand exercises and grew new tissue. Django Reinhardt and Tony Iommi over came obstacles in playing guitar -found different ways to play-so don't give up!

    Man every one was either Ed or Randy. You will not sound different untill you play what you play. There are rules but I swear...learn a few scales..might know the the names, might not. But put a tune on and find where they fit. Btw Mr Stine and his daughter have a gig they did on the internets..It's good. Peace and God bless.
