Ahsoka's been so scared that she'll become like Vader if she continues living the way Anakin taught her, that she was only going through the motions, not being driven with her actions and walking away from Grogu, Luke and Sabine. Anakin pushed her to fight again and live, to realize her fate is her choice.
Yeah, it's almost as if Anakin is chastising her for assuming just because he succumbed, she will as well--that she NEEDS to keep fighting and trust herself to do the right thing, like she did at the end of their vision fight.
12:12 I’d say that’s exactly what she did, choosing to “live” was not only her realizing that she doesn’t have to follow the path Anakin did (and metaphorically die, losing himself, and seeming like a version of himself with all his worst traits), that she’s not doomed to fail, and she’s not responsible for Anakin’s turn to the Dark Side, but also also her choosing to “live” as in live as her true self before she became distant and stoic. Which is why once she releases all this guilt and lets go of the past, she suddenly seems so much happier and back to her old self, and she wears lighter clothes to represent that. The fans are calling her “Ahsoka the White” which is perfect because I really think this was a moment of rebirth for her. The water slowly rising and putting her back into the ocean seemed like it was symbolizing her being purified and becoming this Gandalf the White version of herself where she’s enlightened. I’m really happy we got to see her let go, a lot of fans were complaining about her being stoic but I immediately saw where Dave was trying to take Ahsoka’s character and have her deal with her trauma.
Anakin: The Father Ahsoka: The Daughter Both the above are now the mortis gods. Ahsoka used Force echo to figure out how to find Sabine. I really liked this episode a lot, I woke up at 02:00 on Wednesday morning here in the UK. Just to watch it, I now have my alarm set for subsequent episodes going forward because I don’t wanna miss a moment. Definitely looking forward to seeing Ezra and Thrawn. I’m also interested to see this force based martial arts. Ezra has apparently learned during his solitude in the unknown galaxy, this was part of an article. I read way before the show even started.
When Ahsoka and Sabine were trying to find Ezra the first time, it was ten years ago. They had no map and no means of travel, and in Sabine’s eyes, they failed because no one had seen a purggil sense Ezra left, mainly because the space whales have been on this planet refueling for another migration
They say your whole life flashes before you just before you die. Ashoka is having that experience but chooses to fight... and live! Hence she asked Anakin, "what if I Choose to stop fighting?" Anakin: "then you'll die". Give in and drown...or fight to live. Incredible writing. Best Star Wars from Disney yet.
Definitely mortis father Anakin he can even change his form at will , Of course he would pick the best time he would look ..non-old man..lol But yes he was in total control of that realm now.. All to teach a life lesson.. But yes such a perfect balance between light and dark he was able to change I hope there's more in the future because this episode was great it's all been great, but this is really great
Yeah, and I guess it relates to that episode where she got her whole squadron killed, her first command, though it happened in the Venator but hey, it's her party now. So many parallels to the last battle of that other IP that cannot be named because he hasn't watched yet and also is The-Chosen-One-heavy, lol.
Anakin can finally prevent the ones he loves from dying. All it took was him walking both light and dark paths. Figuring out how to have attachments in ways that are beneficial. And then die and fulfill his prophecy to become the central Mortis God controling the balance between both sides for the entire galaxy (and maybe beyond).
Anakin as a person is shaped now in the Force as both his Anakin and Vader persona. There is no way to change that at this point. For Ahsoka though, her fear is that the roads will lead her to the same fate but Anakin is trying to teach her that that inner demon she is facing can be conquered. She does not have to be follow the same road. And ultimately her new resolve to become the person she wants to be regardless of her past is her passing her final lesson. This is the same lesson that Luke learned when he faced vader as did Kanan when he fought the Force vision of the Temple Guard version of the Grand Inquisitor.
Yes! And Luke also had to confront Vader, as Yoda said, to become a Jedi. Confront, not necessarily kill. I guess this is why he must be seen as Vader here, too. Well remembered Kanan fighting in that dojo! That moment gave me all the chills, By the Will of the Force... How I would love to see Ahsoka Knighted!!!
Such a great episode. The hair on the back of my neck stood up when the outline of Vader flashed where Anakin had been walking - def a top 5 Star Wars shot all timeee
I do believe that Ashoka would entertain fantasy that she could have kept Anakin from turning. And a feeling of guilt for leaving him. "surely that left a mark"..."is that why you abandoned him?"
Such a beautiful episode. For me the best one so far. I loved every second of it. "Reborn" Ahsoka the white is completly different from Ahsoka "the grey", like Gandalf. She is now calm and light and relaxed and kind and full of life. The Purgils were amazing. I enjoyed Your reaction.
I didn’t catch that right away that Ahsoka was different, but her lighthearted “I have no idea” when asked where the purgill were going seems to exemplify that.
@@TopnessReactions She seemed to me more calm, kind, lightharted, relaxed. She is a little bit more like herself from Rebels. In the begining of Ahsoka show she was more serious, hard, strict and sad.
This episode was so good, I can't wait for the next one where I think thrawn will finaally show up! There were many interesting moments in this one, like when anakin was walking literally down the path of vader in that cool transition between clone wars anakin and darth vader (a very cool detail was that he went to battle with his brothers the clones as Anakin but the moment he switched to Vader he was totally alone and in that moment I think it signifies that no matter what, once he become Vader ahsoka would stand no chance against him as he is a whole army by himself and his hatred for his past life gave him so much strength and focus that he was an unstopable killing machine and that's another reason why I think ahsoka when the camera panned back to her she seems super afraid, I don't think it was only because she saw him as Vader but also because she recognised his power). I think both Hayden and Ariana Greenblatt got the mannerisms of their Clone Wars characters down to a T and I think my favourite moment is when ahsoka hugs Jacen in such a motherly way which makes me kind of sad, both because she didn't have the oppurtiny and peace to start her own family due to the constant war of her era and the personal sacrifices that she had to make for the greater good and because of all of the history and the warmth behind that hug, it felt super genuine almost like her motherly instinct was awaken. Judging by that hug Rosario Dawson must be such an affectionate mother to her adopted daughter, she's a natural!!!
Hera has always had a remedial connection to the force through her connection to Jaden. Hera heard Jaden through the force, that connection passed from Jaden, to their son, and now she shares it with Jacen. She hears the force through Jacen.
The pink part of the vision I think was Teth from the clone wars movie. The mission to rescue Jabba's son. That plant was pink and had the walkers. The part with the injured Clones I think was Ryloth. That's when she lost her whole squadron and was the first time she really felt the weight of death under her command.
Do you think this means that Anakin is the Father? He could be the father bc he harnessed both the light and dark. Thus that means he’s the chosen one /father.
You can tell Anakin's "lesson" really helped. Not only is she dressing in white but you can see the obvious change in her attitude. She's actually happy and positive, and the big takeaway is when she invites Jacen into "her" ship she calls it a "Jedi's Starship" basically she is confirming she wants to be a Jedi again.
This episode was awesome. Well done! But next one is scary for me, because it has a high chance to be screwed up by bad writing. I hope they got this done in a good-ish way, somehow. Ezra has to either be imprisoned by Thrawn the whole time or he's dead for it to make any sense. If he would have managed to escape Thrawn somehow, then there would have been no reason for him to not come back by riding a Purrgil. He has the power to do so and "invented" this whole thing to begin with. It will be hard to explain why he never returned with a Purrgil otherwise. Maybe there is a third valid writing option, one where Ezra turned dark and lost his ablility to convince the Purrgils to help him by turning dark. But this is a less likely option, I guess. Let's wait and see. I keep my fingers crossed.
So, this episode disapointed me a little with the lack of our villain team and Sabine, but overall I really enjoyed this one. Looking forward to the next episode of Gandal-- I mean the next episode of Ahsoka. Hopefully we get the Grand Admiral.
Great reaction! In my mind it's really Anakin in the WBW, but reaching Ahsoka through the Force, thus being able to present himself the way she needed him to be, first as her Master trying to teach her one more lesson and sometimes as Vader, but a Vader not entirely transformed, not the Vader more machine than man, for her to face her fears, the fear of ever becoming him, all her guilt and reluctance to be a Master to anyone else. Many were not happy that she's beaten him, but, again, that's what she needed in that moment. And then, from the "baptism" of water, she's reborn as Ahsoka The White, back to her playful self and completely trusting The Force will guide them. Poor Huyang, too much for his logic circuits there, lol.
I agree with you. But Ahsoka didnt beat Anakin in this duel. Anakin all the time was teaching her a lesson, he didnt want to kill her. U can clearly see that in First seconds of the duel he is pushing, stoping and defending. Compere it with how he fought Obi wan. You simple cant. Anakin didnt want to hurt her or kill her, but he had to be convincing enough to make Ahsoka think about her decision. In the First part of duel Both of them were "toying", with each other, Ahdoos kicked him once. But Anakin Saw that its not enough , so he turned to The dark side, to Force her to fight her 100%, to make her fight to survive but at the same time he didnt use all his abilities.

To your comment about the recon to the “Ashoka grey”. I think one of the final scenes will be the scene we saw from rebels. This is just my theory but Ashoka might go back to world between worlds and “go back in time” erasing Thrawn but having the knowledge to find Ezra. That’s why she has the white clothing on in that scene and there is no Thrawn in the sequels.
It's not really that big a retcon...at the time Rebels ended, Dave probably thought that we wouldn't be revisiting these characters again (especially with KK heading things) but still wanted to give us a taste of where he thought each character would be doing and eventually end up. He's always wanted to tell this story and thank the gods above and below he he finally did in this episode.

Anakin: "I've heard that before..."
Luke said the same thing to him.
I also thought Anakin made a reference to Luke Skywalker
"I will not fight you father"
