thanks. The cheap plastic screw mounts broke on the assy for the window/lock button assy in the armrest, and the assy fell 2 inches down into the armrest so it was hard to use the buttons. I fixed it by removing the 3 factory bolts, drilling holes through the armrest cover, and locking the assy back into its position in the armrest cover by placing new longer bolts through the top and threading nuts from below. I also wrapped thin strips of duct tape around underside of the nuts to prevent vibrations from loosening them. Also, b/c the bolt heads are visible on the top of the armrest, I used black plastic washers on them to match the black color of the armrest so the bolt heads appear more stylish and less lame/amateurish. You showed me how easy it is to remove the armrest cover so I could fix the button assy. Thanks. But because the plastic is 8+ years old (my Yaris is a 2012) it must have grown weak over time and most of the small plastic clips broke off during removal (but not the long ones at each end - those were fine). Thus the armrest cover did not clip back into the armrest snugly, and is now loose along the the side touching the door wall. I may have to use superglue (or some other method of adhesion) if it starts rattling too much during travel! I notice the title of your vid says 2013-present door removal. I wonder if my 2012 Yaris requires a different method of armrest cover removal? Anyway, yesterday I had five separate DIY jobs still remaining to perform on my Yaris. Today I have only 4, thanks to you!
