I tried this. I have a vintage tablecloth made from Linen. Very beautiful. I wrapped my Christmas Garland up with two tablecloths. Then popped them into trash bags thinking they were waterproof. Placed them in my storage unit thinking they were safe. My storage unit had a leak that I didn't know about. I went and picked up my Christmas decorations and when I got the two bags home, I unwrapped them only to discover that they were soak and wet. The lights left on are silver bells & left very damaging rust stains on the tablecloths. I washed them and my Mom tossed them into the dryer not realizing the rust stains were there. The stains were set from the heat of the dryer. I thought they were ruined. There were several spots that were bigger than quarters. I tried a couple of other options before stumbling onto this video. I tried it. It took several hours and several applications remixing the formula and reapplying it. Scrubbing every half hour. Happy to report that not only were the rust stains eventually lifted but the linen tablecloth looks better than ever. I even used the lemon skin to scrub the rust stains in between applications. The other tablecloth is satin & the shade blends in with rust stains wasn't worried about that. The Linen tablecloth is white with beautiful red detail around the edges. My tablecloth has been saved & can't thank you enough. It was a gift to my parents in 1965. 💕

Wow, thank you and your Dad 🙏🏻. I just tried it on my cotton cargo pants. My pants has bleeding rust stains that’s from the rusted buttons. I have to say Wow! It worked for me. It removed the black rust on the buttons completely. I am amazed by it. I used white vinegar instead of lemon because I don’t have lemon. I applied the salt directly on the stains first then applied mixed vinegar with dish soap. I used dryer. The stain was gone after it’s been dried.

I have a lot of white crop-tops and bras for summer but our washer started leaving brown stains on all my white clothes. I thought the detergent I was using isn't strong enough so I bought bleach. No results. I'll try this and come back with results. Wish me luck, guys!

It's a plastic curtain, people. There never was a rust 'stain'. This was just someone rinsing rust off plastic. I arrived at this video bc I want to know how to get a rust *stain* out of clothing, with the proviso that I don't wear plastic (and no one should!).

It should be fine. Just don’t rub it too hard

Can you use lime?
I think it should work as it is the citric acid which is the essential ingredient. Both limes and lemons have more or less same content. Let me know how you get on.
you did the cleaning in one region of the fabric and showed the result in another part. This is deceit.
I did lots of different parts of the same piece as there was rust all over it, but as you will see from the other comments, it works.

Actually there were various stains on that piece and they all came out. As you can see from the comments it does work. Hope it does for you too.

But how fo remove rust from a little leather on a shoe 👟?
You need to be careful not to remove the colour from the leather, unless you think you can easily polish over it again. So I would start by just using a sponge or soft cloth and white vinegar. If this does not work try the ingredients in the video, but instead of washing up liquid (which is coloured), use a neutral liquid soap or saddle soap. Let me know how you get on & good luck

Nothing more DAMN infuriating than manufactures who use metals that rust !!! Esp if fabric is involved. How dare you use metals prone to rusting. Same thing happened to my 300 bar stool after trying to hot water extract it. I'm PISSEDDD! I have no idea now how to remove rust from bar stool fabric now without more rust bleeding from underneath it WTFFF.
nightmare? Can you remove the fabric maybe and then staple it back on after you have treated it for rust?
The result you should which was two rings from the end is not the stain you put the solution on to!!!! Shame on you!
