Amen. Weird how the Secretary of DEFENSE and the JCS crew all claim that protecting our borders is not the job of the military. Total traitors, every flag officer and Defense bureaucrat who makes that claim. And there are many.
both armies still exist, the difference is the the US Army has evolved, adapted and kept pace with technology whereas, going by the initial showing in Kurks, .... 🙂 Слава Україна 🇺🇦 з 🇦🇺
Dear 8th Army… fire your Public Affairs Officer immediately. If the message is to North Korea- then stick to the threat that the combined Joint Force presents to the enemy, not the damned quality of life for troops stationed in country. This video is the equivalent flexing your muscles while putting on your makeup. It’s not a good look. Failed. US Army Infantryman- RETIRED! Edit: errors
Your mistaken, the quality-of-life section It calculated to contrast the living conditions of US/ROK soldiers compared to that of NK troops. It's the military equivalent of South Koreans sending K-pop and soap operas across the DMZ on balloons.
@@disciple68what you say is true, the problem is the majority of NK military personnel will never see this advertisement and will therefore be unaffected, I’m sure senior officials could possibly see it but below that, NOPE….. they also didn’t showcase the standard of living for the people of South Korea, they specifically catered to the quality of life for US personnel in country. ROK bases are not on display. Would’ve been more effective if 8th Army focused on presenting the ROK as the forefront while demonstrating US support assets that will crush any NK offensive into the south. I highly doubt this video will have the intended effect but if you see things differently, that’s cool. All good.
@@Supajack831 I'm willing to bet that the idea is a long-term strategy. Obviously, NK troops do not watch AFN. But I'm speculating that this video could probably find itself on one of those balloons. In a country where everyone is subject to a very long conscription period, future NK military personal may have seen the video and are hopefully affected. Thoughts?
Agreed. This video is ridiculous. The Army literally has no information operations capability when it comes to strategic psyop and/or recruiting campaigns.
I was there in 84. I can’t believe the incredible stupidity of leadership allowing troops families to live there. You saw what they did to Auto. Get your families out of there before stuff happens
Dis you never do any NEO exercises while in the ROK? There were families in Europe during the Cold War as well, and that would have been a much more dangerous and rapid advance. Yet there were families there with servicemembers doing three-year tours as opposed to the one-year tour in S. Korea.
What does that over played player of a child's game, have to do with a video about troops defending two nations? Anything he ever sacrificed was to enrich himself, and his own interest's, only!
Because he talked to him once? That's called "diplomacy", speaking with your enemy on cordial terms, trying to find some kind of common ground to reduce tensions...
@@DruidTimer Reducing tensions with Communists for what? So we can figure out how much food to send to our enemies in exchange for false promises of eventual elections?
This was a must better recruiting commercial than the one with the two lesbian moms.
North Korea would most definitely lose that hypothetical war.
Judging from their "walking in lines through open fields" tactics in Ukraine, I don't think NK would do very well.
There's probably little kid watching this thinking war is like a vacation.
Kinda turned into a tourism ad towards the end there lol

@blue6gun Doesn't it just make you want to enlist and visit Korea, Domo-kun?
It’s crazy how we help protect other’s borders while leaving ours open maybe we can get other countries to help us protect our border

Shout out to my late father. He was in the 2nd ID in Korea when the USS Pueblo was captured. God bless all US veterans !!!

Some buildings look like college campuses.

Army commercials and advertisement have not been good in the last 8 years.

2:12 wtf 😳
The Norks are busy shredding their army in Ukraine. This is weak sauce.
This is a good distraction from our tone down of rotational units to S. Korea. Only having strykers aint gonna cut it
Yep, and youre staying regardless of what the politicians say. 👍
