      I purchased an Aria Pro II Thinline T-style because of cost and weight. The pickups are Alnico5's and it feels great to play. The neck is slim and the neck pickup sounds like a humbucker... No noise. I paid $259.oo during covid and it's my number one over my MIA strat and LP Standard. I get more tones out of this Aria, blissfully satisfied.

    in my honest opinion, a guitar for over a 1000 bucks (here in germany) with the lowest grade proprietary china pickups that schecter offers is just not cool. at least, some quality USA pasadena pickups would have been a much better fit for the guitar's otherwise good hardware and would have significantly improved the price-performance ratio of the MV-6 series. i recommend to spend even less money on a schecter sun valley with emg retro pickups instead, much better bang for your buck

    Captain, I feel your pain on the wah pedal front. Much the same happens to me. Two suggestions: First, do what I don't and practice making your wah guitaring sound the way you want it to. Second, locate a good-sounding spot along the treadle's travel and just leave it there for awhile -- also known as the cocked wah trick. As I'm sure you know, there are pedals sold intended to achieve this very same effect WITHOUT the treadle. Keep in mind that there can be many good-sounding spots, so try to find a few favorites.

    As Mark Knopfler would attest, Schecter has always been a great platform for creating a decent instrument. This guy could pretty much pick any guitar he wanted. Of course, he loved his Fenders, Gibsons, Steinbergers and Pensa-Suhrs. But he also used several customised Schecters particularly during the golden years of Dire Straits. Good enough for Knopfler. Good enough for the rest of us.

    When are they going to put single coils from the neck to the bridge with 2 five way switches....

  • @dreammachine86
    @dreammachine86 10 месяцев назад +2

    Well...these seem to be really nice guitars. Looks very comfortable to play, with a thin neck and 24 frets but with no pickup right in the middle to get in the way. I think the purple one looks absolutely great.
    I would actually be interested in putting some Schecter USA pickups in one though, assuming they are easily replaceable (they do look like normal sized single coils in a removable pickguard). I'd love to try Schecter's 'Dark Side' pickups, all the demos I've watched sound fantastic but Schecter doesn't use these in any guitars except their USA custom shop models which are very expensive!
    Here's a demo of the Dark Side single coils in one of those £5k custom shop guitars: ruclips.net/video/CpQNSvWOAAc/видео.html (2:45 onwards is my ideal single coil drive sound!)
    Of course like Pete & Lee bring up, we don't know whether the middle pickup is reverse wound, and whether all the pickups are identical in output or whether each is optimised for its position. The Schecter USA pickups do seem to require custom ordering in the UK (I watched a PMT video of a tour of their pickup making workshop in their factory and PMT said they can order the pickups if you call up) so I'm sure it would be possible to get a set that would be optimised for the MV-6 setup.
    It would be interesting to know how companies like Schecter actually get their own-branded import pickups produced. Whether they can say to the Far East factories we would like pickups of this exact spec and/or tonality. Or whether they pick from a menu of existing pickup designs that the factories have available. And I suppose it could be the same factory making the guitar itself that also makes the pickup, or it could be a different factory depending on price, quality & range of options. I have heard that some of their own-branded import humbuckers (like on my own Reaper-6) are actually based on their USA pickup designs but no idea if that's correct.
    Only real downside with the MV-6 I can see is that it's on the pricey side. Schecter have some other Indonesian models in the same price range that have the USA pickups and stainless steel frets whereas the MV-6 has neither.
    If anyone has played an MV-6, would you be able to let me know if the tremolo is set up to float i.e. can bend notes upwards somewhat? In a previous Andertons video when they were looking at the Van Nuys models one of them could bend up but the other couldn't, I suppose a guitar tech can sort that out though.

I love the NJ model, but I've always said in my guitar reviews, on my RUclips channel, that it would be amazing if the NJ didn't have the middle pickup, better upper access and 24 frets.
