Fcuking brilliant Gwyn! Having read much funny stuff on FB but not having heard you perform, I was interested to see what you did. Took me back to the days of playing pubs and parties with a few mates for the pure enjoyment of it. You get a huge thumbs up from me mate, well done.
Another great effort. Apparently he has been getting flack from certain local naysayers accusing him of lying about his experience here in Europe. Just to set the records straight Gwyn Ashton is a respected performer here in Europe and has in fact played with many renowned artists over the 20 plus years he spent here. In Australia unfortunately there is what’s called “Tall Poppy syndrome” where underachievers engage in devaluing those who had the courage to take risks in pursuit of their passions. The best Aussies I’ve met are the ones who have travelled, lived, and worked overseas at some stage in their lives. The rest(not all)appear to become bitter and resentful. Gwyn’s music may not be to everyone’s taste but at least he’s an artist who battles on. Respect.
I completely disagree with the statement about Aussies , there’s such a such small amount of people that are the way you describe, I’ve met many people from Europe and the UK, England and Scotland specifically, and most British people I’ve met are soft imbeciles who spend more time looking for approval then actually achieving anything, and most Scottish people I’ve met are awesome happy and just want to have fun and get things done , but I know that’s not all or most British, or most Scottish , because I’m not the spectrum , Gwynns music is great , I’ve never heard of him until today , when I saw him comment on a Facebook post about tennis, complaining about people talking through his music… Australia is full of flogs and idiots and wankers , so is any country in Europe , and any other continent. I’ve been performing here for 8 years and I’ve received nothing but love at almost every venue , and when I don’t receive it I couldn’t care less because some people do like to drag people down , and in Gwynns case , especially if he sees this do not let yourself be dragged down by people you don’t even know , do not complain or whatever it is this post is alluding to, respect is earned not inherited , if you’re respected in Europe , great ! This isn’t Europe, your music is great and I know many people who’d enjoy it And im going to send it to them ! Keep going at it brother !
