I have to be honest I think a lot of people may be repulsed by this but I found it interesting how people could make such beautiful things in a place that’s not so beautiful very interesting good job Matt love you
Anytime I feel like I don't want to wake up to an alarm in the morning and do the hard work of living the good life, I watch this channel. I quickly realize doing the right thing is what is hard. Living like these people is easy. But the question is: Is being lazy & living selfishly worth the trade off? Not for me. I'd rather live the hard life.
Great video series, I do wish there was more in-depth questions on how they afford to live, get back and forth to town, Ect...Ect. Might give those idealizing this lifestyle and sober realization of what it takes, to sustain one’s self.
This is my favorite one so far! Absolutely love Lola, her accent & how genuine, beautiful & soft she is! I love Nova’s art, their creativity, talent & human they are. Thanks for sharing. Thank you Matt I’m not sure how I came across your channel today, yet I’m glad I did & I’ve been believe watching since lol I started with Heidi Landers, Slab City, the Dwarf & partner (sorry don’t recall their names) 😖.. & JD you dropped off at court, awesome & blessed they granted his wish & now back to more Slab City! I advised my partner at work that I came across a awesome YT channel 😝 thanks again for the work, the stories & you’re great at what you do! Like Slip (I think was their name) said let’s get you to 1M!!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
I I am a straight proud man And I support the gay community as well as the transgender community at the end of the day we are all human and we have a right to live the way we choose as long as we love and respect each other🙏🏽
I love your videos and I especially love the dymanic of this particular interview. Adore Nova and Lola. The three of you radiated such a warm, sincere energy. ❤️
nova is really resourceful. I lived with this person and they had a great way of working seasonally and traveling off season. it also helps when you have family living in a stable home on the same coast if you need to lay low and go somewhere comfy and cozy for awhile.
I absolutely love Nova and Lola. They seem like very genuine, kind and accepting ppl. I think their house is so cool, and eclectic, and they're very talented artists!❤
Another cool episode in Slab City, a place I would like to visit, but wouldn’t want to live there. I’ve never been a camper per se, even tho I absolutely love ❤️ the outdoors and nature but at night, I really love my hot shower and my cozy big bed. I don’t take it for granted however, and know that I am blessed….🙏🏼❤️
Amazing!! Thank you for your positive energy! I have chronic health problems and I love living through this show!! I wish I could go to a full on Queer city!!
There is a special kind of artistic beauty there Very talented place. Love their artistic ability..amazing! Very camera friendly.I feal a good vibe around them. Thank you!☮💙🌠👍
Aww, sweet video! I got to spend about a couple months there this season. They are very sweet people that I'm glad I met and you've captured them well in this video! ^.^
I wish someone could go out there an help them build some essential things. Like the guy who shows how to make off the grid housing. A better shower for them, better system for surviving.
This is such a good series! The way you talk to people is so warm and welcoming, it seems like you really make people feel comfortable. I have to know your zodiac sign!!!!!!
OMG I I moved away from the Coachella Valley without ever having visiting Slab City, despite knowing about it, thinking about the possibility of living there and having driven past it on a loop coming back from Las Vegas via Needles .... now, even though I just took a regular share up in Northern California, Redwood Empire, I SO WANT to live next to these people and help establishing a Queer Community there, which though I knew there were individuals I didn't know a potentially blossoming community was incipient !!!
Corinne!!! 🥺❤️ thank you so much. Your opinion means so much to me, you are a true artist!! I’ll be out in NY for a couple weeks at the end of March, hopefully our paths cross :)
I enjoyed this - thank you for filming and sharing! These people are super resourceful. I was speechless when they opened the door to their RV... all that beautiful colour! And I really dig their ring! 💙
I could build that skid house the right way and keep its design but gonna take alot more material than just skids to get it done and then the less help I have It'll take me longer so you two would have to help if i need you to Plus gravel and concrete blocks you'll need And it'll have a roof Some of those skids are treated wood i seen those you don't wanna use unless you wouldn't mind using them as flooring
I personally would struggle in a place like slab city although I've been homeless before. They are genuinely great people trying to make it work. Much love to them and thank you for sharing thier story. 💞
What do people do for food and water? Especially in summer time? Nobody speaks on these things everyone talks about the freedom but how do people actually live and survive especially long term people without income.
If I was there and not in the midwest I'd finish that skid house up with whatever money i have then leave And they can paint it whatever colors they want

Indeed, so NOT my style, but still cool as hell! If I woke up in that I would think I’m having a repeat acid trip from my youth, LOL!
You are such a compassionate heart - I love how respectful you are of boundaries and space, and such a good interviewer
Thank you so much 🥹❤️
Yes.... I loved this and Rachaels comment ... Ditto ♥️
We are all just trying to find our way through this thing called life. 💙
Truly ❤️
Nothing wrong with it. Just don’t push your opinions on others. Should be everyone’s motto
In a very creative looking way. They are all living artwork.
@@OurQueerLife I couldn't find Nova's Etsy with that info

Yes it is, for the .0001% of the global population that actually has it. The rest are just mentally and emotionally dysfunctional

Are nova’s eyebrows tattooed on?
I don’t blame them for not wanting to go back when no one seems to respect their efforts, stealing, pooing in a trailer etc.
Great video , love it .
Thank you so much ❣️
I loved Lola!
If I knew about this I would’ve went there when I ran away
