- Sandown is rapidly becoming my favourite toy fair in the UK. It's also a great place to meet fellow collectors and friends.
Last time, I found some grails. Let's see what I can find and who I can meet this time!! Can Sandown Toy Fair November 2023 deliver once again?

Hi, I'm VTR Dave. A Brit on a mission to curate a high-quality and diverse collection of vintage toys, known as the VT aRchive.
A homage to the iconic toys of the 70s & 80s to be shared with as many enthusiasts as possible, right here on this channel. And who knows, perhaps in the future, on display in a public space like a museum. Now, wouldn't that be something!
Subscribe to stay updated as I search for vintage toys, lovingly restore them, delve into their history, and piece by piece, construct the VT aRchive.
As always, thanks goes out to everyone who supports the channel. Every view, like & comment is appreciated.
Stay safe & cheers!
💪😎
Just awesome mate

Fantastic video.I must get to Sandown next year.Seems like there's always quality there. That Modellers Loft stall was epic!!
Definitely worth a visit!! The last few have been good to me 👍 and yeah, Modellers Loft this time brought the goodies 😎
Great video Dave.. Thanks for sharing.. 👍😎👍
Thanks Nick!! 👍
Great to hook up ⬆️ and go and get some food 🥘 cheers 🍻
Yeah, really enjoyed the day and catching up with you again! Hope you enjoyed your journey home! Cheers 🍻
Great video mate, and pleasure to see you as always.. hope ya day was awesome 👏🏼
Cheers!! 🤘 Always fun to see how successful your hunt is, even if I did think you were wearing red 🤣 Had a great day!! 👍
Wow!!!! Those vintage Masters of the universe boxes were freaking awesome! They looked brand new!
And what the France! Galaxy Rangers at VTR'S!!! Awesome Sauce!
Thought you might like those MOTU boxes Shabby!! 🤘 They were shop stock so are essentially brand new. And yeah, a few Galaxy Rangers have arrived. Awesome Sauce!!! 🤣
@@VintageToyRush 🤣🤣
What a toy show 😊 Those 3 MISB MOTU sets were so unique 🤩 An amazing amount of vintage Dave and some lovely pickups 👍👌
Cheers Matt! Yeah very pleased with the carded Micronaut. Would loved to have opened those MOTU boxes, but the box art alone is awesome!! 👍
What a great toy show Dave and so many amazing toys for sale. Love it. All those amazing pieces. Man i misswd out for sure mate😊
Thanks Roy!! 👍 Yeah, Sandown is becoming one of my favourite toy fairs to visit!! 😎 Maybe one day you can visit?
@@VintageToyRush I really hope so Dave. A visit to England should not be impossible right?😉👍🏻
Great video mate. Tbh I would bought that Ghostbusters bin lol😁👍🔥
Thanks! 👍 Ha, yeah that bin does look cool 🤘
Great stuff Dave. Gutted I couldn’t make this one with Martyn. I’ll make that sticker album one day 😂
Thanks Adam!! 👍 Shame to miss you this time but plenty of fairs yet and plenty of time to make the album 😎
Brilliant video! Amazing peices there wow!!!! Seen so many things I want. And always nice to see my good freind Michael Bates of Raiders of the loft toys on your video. 😉👍👍👍👍👍🤩
Thanks Andrew 👍 Love Raiders of the Loft Toys - only met Michael a few fairs ago where he was showing me some magnetic super hero figures. Always have awesome items.
@VintageToyRush yeah he is a super cool guy...I got the magnetic Batman he had off him 😉👍👍👍👍👍
@@andrewburford4962 Ah nice!! I looked on eBay and realised they're difficult to find and demand a decent price 😎
@VintageToyRush Yeah I bought 2 more from Leicester vintage...a Superman one and a Hulk there superb!!!! 😉👍
Thanks for taking us round the Fair, sir! Some amazing stuff as always and a nice little haul for your good self! That carded Micronauts fig was mint, and the back of the Scubattack box was fantastic! Cheers for another very enjoyable video!
Thanks Dave! 👍 Yeah, that Scuba Attack is amazing - had to laugh when I first saw the back of it 🤣 And I'm very pleased with the Micronaut card, that was a pleasant surprise!!
Another impressive toy show. Love especially all the lose and boxed M.A.S.K toys but then there is just so much other cool toys on offer like that falcon. Great haul. And the best bonus is meeting your fellow toy collectors. Wonderful mate
Cheers Chris 👍 Lots of MASK this time!! Are there any MASK items your'e looking for in particular? Thought about that Falcon all day 😎 Decided against it but as you say meeting our fellow collectors is the bonus of the day 🤘
@VintageToyRush not really looking for anything of M.A.S.K. at the moment. I'll just see what I come across at future toyfairs. Cheers mate
8:32 There he is! 😂
Ha!! He doesn't disappoint does he 🤣
What a great show!!!! Would love to get to one of these, but just so far away! 😢
Some very nice pick ups though Dave, snd what in the Grayskull were those motu figures!!! Scuba Skeletor! And chair lift he man!!!! Looked beautiful mate, great watch as always 👌👌
Mr Reynolds, it's gonna happen in April!!! 😎 Those MOTU sets are awesome - apparently they came right at the end of the line (perhaps in Italy only). Loved the artwork on them, the back images made me laugh especially Scuba Skeletor 🤣 Thanks for watching as always 👍
A fellow Over The Top fan! That Lincoln Hawk figure is awesome, but the smaller action figure line with the arm wrestling play feature is where the true magic is. You NEVER see them in Australia but I've not given up hope!
Let's face it, the film isn't the greatest but still iconic!! I've been researching the 7 inch version of Hawk - I hadn't realised how difficult they are to find. Andy was explaining the action where two figures can arm wrestle each other. It's now on my wish list 😎 I just thought it would look great with the Rambo and Rocky figures. Never give up hope 🤘
Today's Sandown Toy Fair was amazing. I am very impressed with the haul you picked up. Carded vintage in my book is something you can't go wrong with. I also appreciate the shout out Dave. Thank you so much!!!
As I was looking through all those Star Wars cards I was thinking Mike would love to dig through these 😎 Had to give you a shout out 👍 It was a great day, good pickups and met a number of our fellow collectors!!
Great video Dave! Was a fantastic day and we were honoured to make the album 😊 👍
Thanks!! 👍 Yeah, a great day! Am thinking of creating a physical version of the album at some point 😎
This Sandown had some amazing offerings! I couldn’t stop pausing and rewinding!!!
Ha ha!! Just wait till April 🤘
I grabbed that MASK Thunderhawk from Robbos toys you showed around 3 mins mark. Good video and finally nice to meet you dude - lunch was yummy too
Ha! While editing the video I wondered if that was the one you picked up 😎 Good lunch and chat!! 👍
@@VintageToyRush haha, awesome to finally meet you and here’s to the next time, probably NEC next year, saying that if there is a sandown before then lol
Micronauts on card! Mint!
Woah that Scuba Attack Skeletor has Pete's name all over it!
Love it GForce!! It's exactly the kind of item I like to be surprised by and pick up at a toy fair 👍
It certainly does!! We need to find one for Scuba 😎
great pickups mate. I wish I had the time to get into Fisher price People line. I have loads from a carboot sale as a kid.
Thanks!! These are the first Fisher Price figures I've picked up. If you have any spare Space figures you're looking to sell, I could be interested. Watched your Sandown pickups vid, fantastic! 👍
What was my pet monster in the Ghostbuster bin 😅 Great video
Thanks! 👍 Looked great in the bin! 😎 Did he sell?
Great video y enjoed it!
Thanks!! 👍
That Falcon looks nice, yes. I wanted one as a kid but got a model kit instead for Christmas. I recently finally went with the Micro Galaxy Falcon, which is really nice and takes up less space too. I have Galaxy Rangers on DVD, a good animated series! Great to see M.A.S.K. there too. That Micronauts carded figure looks great, nice find! That Stallone figure looked like Stallone, nicely done. Adventure People, good set of figures. I had a few as a kid. Scuba-Skeltor, cool. Nice tour, thanks Dave!
Never had a Falcon either even as a kid. My friend did though. Was very tempted by this one 😎 I've yet to watch any Galaxy Rangers, gonna have to fix that but enjoying collecting the line. Very pleased with the carded Micronaut, that was a surprise find. The Stallone figure looked like him but the figure generally was a bit rubbish - his back looks like it has been ironed flat 🤣 Thanks for watching! 👍
@@VintageToyRush Cool, yes, a good animated series worth a watch. Sorry to hear about the Stallone Collectible having a flat iron back. Thanks!
I have that Godzilla game 💪😎 it'd awesome
Nice one Deano!! 💪 The box art is amazing!! 👍
Excellent video Dave!
Thanks Tim, appreciate that 👍
Think my original comment has not saved? But great as always to chat and see you. Your finds and video have me thinking next time I will just go to walk around and see all the goodies!! And Rambo is available if your still thinking about it 👍
Hey Andy!! 🤘 Ha!! Yeah could be worth being a buyer one time. Mind you, who would I buy Battle Beasts from 🤣 I'm still thinking about Rambo 👍
Awesome video VTR and some great pickups. I spied an Imperious Leader from BSG on card. I will have a rewatch to see which vendor that was. Why do I not spot these things when looking around?
Cheers Stu!! 👍 Nice BSG card!! I'm forever spotting new stuff while editing these toy fair videos 😎
Awesome video VTR Dave, a great round up of the event.
Would you say it's 'better' than the NEC fair? Or is it just a different fair, so you can't really compare?
Thanks Dez!! 👍 They're quite similar as many of the dealers attend both events. But I would say Sandown is becoming favourite. I prefer the location, and for whatever reason I always seem to be find something a little different 🤘
Some great vintage Transformers there I'd love to have a go at getting my hands on.
Do many of the Sandown sellers go to Kempton Park Toy Fair too, as that one is next on on the 11th Feb 2024.
If not, I'll have to try for Sandown later in February too!
Kempton is much smaller than Sandown and has traditionally been focused on trains and die cast, although recently there have been several sellers from the 'Toy Division' group selling 80s stuff. Worth a try but Sandown definitely a must 👍
@@VintageToyRush Thanks for that info!
I can't afford both, so I think I'll try the Sandown Fair instead.
Sneaky old London Transport though - both Kempton and Esher are JUST outside the Travelcard and Oyster Fair Zones!!
Update: Looks like I won't be going in February after all! Can't be doing with the faff of replacement bus services all weekend from Clapham Junction!
@@AFCManUk nooooo!! there are multiple Sandown's so hopefully another date is easier 👍
@@VintageToyRush I know. It's so annoying, as the train lines are fine for the 11th Feb Kempton show, but i doubt I'll be able to find much of what I'm looking for there.
Do most of the stalls have prices on the items or do you have to ask at a lot of them as i find that frustrating?
In most cases, items have price labels, except for maybe some high-end items or tables that are selling in bulk or just trying to move stuff on. I've found most sellers don't mind if you ask and there's always room for a haggle 👍
@@VintageToyRush Thanks for the info.
Also do you have any details of the store that sold the micronaughts please?@vintagetoyrush
That was Modellers Loft www.modellersloft.co.uk/ 👍
Thanks so much
@@VintageToyRush ah thank you I wanted one of those micronaught Mocs but don’t think they they post
Great video Dave
Thanks Ian!! 👍 Really need to make a visit 😎
