I have gone through a few of your reviews and I really appreciate how you tend to review the base versions. Pretty much everyone else goes for the high end versions and you are left wondering what if you want to save some bucks and go for a lesser model.
I have the 11th gen and think it's probably the better buy considering the steep discounts you can find now. Sure 12th gen is better and there are improvements to the camera but the body is generally the same and the gpu doesn't really get an improvement. Either way, love the galaxy book and am glad you are going to test out the full echosystem.
12th Gen won't be better for at least 95% of laptop users. The biggest gains are in multi-core performance (75% to 100%which is only a concern for people who do video editing, 3D modeling, and other GPU extensive activities. For everyone else, single-core performance is what matters and the gains are less than 10%. Plus, battery life will be worse using 12th Gen which is why Intel has been completely silent on the topic.
I for one am glad to see Samsung focus on laptops for adults.. i. e. not gaming. Come to think of it, that's also why I like this channel. Big thumbs up!!
It's kind of weird that the tablets have a much higher resolution display than their laptops. I get it's better for battery life and performance, but still, an option would be nice. Also really cool how they add all the samsung apps and they look just like they do on the phones/tablets. Great review 👍
yeah, I hadn't thought of that but you are so right! I guess tablets and phones just get a lot more attention these days as they sell so many units. I normally like high DPI displays but on this 13" 1080p seems great still and the AMOLED is just so good I can forget the lack of high DPI. Pus it even gets good battery life unlike the surface or xps 13 4k+
What's a good case for this laptop? I'm very interested because of its size and weight but I want to protect it with a decent case because it looks fragile.
@@MashITTech Thank you so much for replying. It is really amazing this laptop can be so light while not fan less. I have been looking for a superlight fan less laptop to replace my Samsung Galaxy Book S. Couldn't fine any, so far.

I have been trying to find this laptop for ages! Samsungs website only has the 13.3 version with thunderbolt/usb C ports but this one has USB A and HDMI. Where do you get this version from?
I replaced my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 for the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 15-inch with Core i7 with 16 gigabyte of memory and 1 terabyte of storage. My experience has been fantastic. I can highly recommend this laptop.
I returned my laptop with the ryzen 7 6800u (RDNA2) for this laptop instead. The reason why is i just bought a eGPU to connect into the thunderbolt port instead. It works so much better than chucking around a heavy brick. Update: Screw this laptop! They promise 22 hours of battery life and only delivers 3-4 hours. I bought a MacBook instead.
Looks great for an everyday user which I am. Premium specs will keep it running for a number of years. Samsung has confused me though with the release of the Galaxy Book2 range 15.6" running 12th Gen U-series chips at much lower prices than this one. Seems to be a budget version as specs just a notch lower on everything eg WiFi 6E v Wifi 6. No reviews out yet and look thicker and heavier.
Why are you always comparing Windows laptops to MBs? MBs only have 15% market share. Lenovo, HP, and Dell all have 2 to 3 times the market share of MBs. Please compare Windows computers to other Windows computers; otherwise one can only conclude that Apple is paying you to market MBs in all your Windows laptop videos. The same goes for Surface devices. iPads ain't computers so there is no reason to mention them in Surface reviews.
Strongly agree. I run arch linux dwm on this laptop, it lasts more than 24 hours, the ram used is less than 600mb, so I have more than 7Gb left free and it is very difficult for me to use half of the Ram. It should be noted that I use powerful programs that squeeze a single core of the processor and not little games for children, videos or other garbage. Of course, if you compare a widnows with a moderate to expert linux user, obviously the linux team will win. This guy is sold to apple and will continue to make silly comparisons of windows equipment against apple equipment.

I have the Book Pro1 and after two weeks I have to return it because of the display/screen issues. The flickering is making me question Samsung laptops. Does the Book Pro 2 have issues with the screen and flickering? Thank you for the video
In this video you said: -Apple or the name of one of its products 20 times -Samsung or the name of one its products 8 times -"Galaxy Book2", the name of the product, 4 times -Instead of saying "Galaxy Book2", you said, "this laptop", "the laptop", or "this machine" 19 times -Not once did you compare the GB2 to another Windows laptop (SP8 is not an ultrabook laptop, it is a computer-tablet; two completely different computing categories)
Just got the machine. Have you booted into the bios by any chance ? If you select TPM settings there is a typoo. That said its its a really fast machine and with nice monitor. One thing memory can run at 6400 mhz , but Samsung has limited it run at 5200 mhz. Maybe a heating issue?
This early in the DDR5 life cycle, shortages abound. Not just IC's but vendor design guides, drivers, and firmware. Intel is likely the bottleneck. If Samsung had 6400 Mbps guidance from Intel and chips were available.. surely Samsung would take advantage.
@@madsfrederiktoft5808 Unfortunately, unless the motherboard was designed specifically for 6400, this speed may be 100% unachievable. Assuming DRAM are available.. and assuming Intel 12th gen memory controller supports 6400.. the PCB traces will be the limiting factor, and these cannot be changed without a redesign, in other words a brand new motherboard.
Samsung have been pre-emotive in getting their 12th gen fast out of the box for marketing purposes. However, I would hold on for the new GPU (Q3) and the plethora of 2.5K/90Hz machines arriving soon after, with superior cooling. By then you should get this near half-price if you are a Samsung fan. I have last years and got it for less than half-price new and it is average. Battery life is okay if you are doing basic stuff, but stretch it and that dives as heat rises and throttling is evident. Do not use this on your lap as it will heat up and lag like crazy as thermal throttling kicks in big time. I must admit that if you can, get a tablet over this to avoid the heat and fan. I much prefer the Tab S7+ although Samsung keyboards suck (no backlit and unstable on the lap). So knowing what I know now, the Galaxy Book Pro at full retail is a def no-go, but at half the price I can live with the downsides. But I would wait all they same as the competition looks like hotting up, including the new MB Air.
Andy, do you have any info on the new integrated arc gpus? I am not upto date on these latest 12th gen low profiles. That was my biggest gripe, the iris gfx are exactly the same as 11th gen. I had hoped these would have launched with the new gfx 😢

Hi, just found your channel, appreciate your work. I’m planning to get galaxy book 2 pro 15 inch. I want a slim and light laptop with good performance for - video photo editing, web dev, coding. This machine doesn’t have any dedicated graphics but its 12th gen, would it suffice my needs *AND* I also found Galaxy book Odyssey, it has dedicated graphics 3050ti with 11th gen chip at the same price range. But there is no proper review for the Odyssey and I am sceptical about it because it has less publicity. Is it a good device to consider than Book 2 pro?
with 8GB of RAM you will reach the limit very soon. Emulators usually require a lot of RAM (or running a DB server or docker). I would definitely get the older 16 GB model for development.
For light use 8gb is still fine, I have been using an 8gb surface pro 8 for the last couple of years. I use it to write scripts, research on the internet, record audio for some of our videos and very light photo shop and it’s fine. Obviously if you know your use is heavier than that then definitely get 16gb but it’s often a very expensive upgrade if people don’t need it
I agree that their are certain aspect of the m1 air that are unbeatable such as the battery life, lack of fan noise and the m1 performance but the also has a lot features I love, widows/linux, upgradable SSD, much better port selection and that screen is just gorgeous!
