That's the stereotype. In real life, musician's fingers tend to be short and blunt. Well, at least blunt. That makes it easier to hit keys, press strings, cover holes, whatever. Not the first time popular myth has got things totally wrong.
With tendon and nerve damage in one hand, lessons like yours are greatly helpful to me. I play a 61 key Yamaha that has feather light weighted keys (that helps too), I just want you to know how good you are to provide these lessons. Thank you. Liked and subscribed.
interesting points ,if anyone else needs to find out about best piano courses try 4LearnPianoEasy.blogspot.com Ive heard some interesting things about it and my work buddy got great results with it.
holy crap....I just played along on my desk...never thought in 10000000 years I could do that with my left hand.... BUT, I'm a woodworker, and years ago I noticed 27 scars on my left hand, 4 on my right...because my left is always holding the material and my right is holding the chisel, knife or saw....so any slippage damages the holding hand. To even it out, I started using my left hand more ....never thought it would pay off on the piano!!!
I just bought a digital piano less than two months ago, and have been having such a hard time finding true beginner entry level lessons. I don’t know anything about a piano except that I can’t play it 🤣😂🤣 I didn’t even finish this video before I had to comment. Thank you! I see this video is 5 years old, I pray you are well and your family blessed!
Playing the piano by ear over 50 years mostly all popular melodies from the greatest composer of the last century,,,, I humbly admit your lessons are what I need for a new start ,,, looking forward for your next video.,Merci beaucoup,!
Looks great, have subscibed, just love sound of boogie woogie, you make it easy for us to learn, not going at a fast pace, You are a great teacher, Thank you
I just found an awesome piano learning course which I know you are going to love. The course teaches you how to play piano professionally Here is the link >>> PianoLessons99.blogspot.com
Hi Darryl, You’re genius, my man 😻 I watched your video, as I tried to find a beginners tutorial for piano 🎹 playing. I watched few before yours, and you are definitely the best. You don’t bother with all that musical technicality, and right so, because beginner like myself, who know zip about music theory, and just want to find relatively fast, and easy way to get into playing piano 🎹. I decided right after watching your video, that’s my way, and I want getting myself a cheap keyboard for starters, and learn with your help. Thanks for your great work, I’ll be in touch. Kind regards Thomas Macnaughtan from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Love the blues and jazz styles of piano…also can you include some Funk methods as well..I’m a beginner to intermediate level player but really just starting to get familiar with this kind of stuff…thanks J Grant👌
thanks for the help after having a stroke a few years ago l forgot most of what l knew but it sis getting better day by day I have now bought a new keyboard and looking forward to getting back into play. I started to play guitar is 1964 and then went on to keyboards anyway thanks so much allan stoke on trent UK
Excellent ! boogie' really 'aint my thing, but it fascinates me to the point i 'd like to be able to play it. Just found your video - like your style and personality. Subscribed !
remember to be realistic - you'll have to put in a bit of work whichever system you choose for learning piano I have spent months studying teaching yourself piano and discovered an awesome resource at BestWay2LearnPiano.blogspot.com 9.blogspot.com
This is a poor demo in that as simple a left hand as it is, the demo shows the player clearly overlooking the dynamic of the backbeat which is often ignored by boogie woogie students and yet the very thing that gives that boogie rhythm and sound. That is one very dead sound left hand.
Piano sounds great. Tuning (what I heard) sounds harmonious for once. My Casio doesn't sound right to me, the half tone between f and e drops too much, almost as if another 1/4 tone could be in there, compared to the half tone between B flat and A. Bass notes are hard to hear for pitch, too much grumbling and noise.
Appreciate Video! Apologies for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you considered - Deyvelynar Celebrated Dominance (google it)? It is a good one off guide for discovering how to learn the piano fast minus the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my good mate called Gray at last got amazing results with it.
This is the teacher I've been waiting for. Boogie boogie for dummies. THIS lesson I can remember from the computer to the keyboard. Where is next lesson? I GOT THIS. YAY. Aussies always deliver the best!

After trying for years to learn piano I discovered Denelle piano lesson and it seems to be the simplest home study course (google it if you are interested)
I've always wanted to play piano. And what you just showed me is a lot like playing guitar. Witch I have played for 30 plus years. Looks I'm buying a key board. Thanks
Dude ... those thingies you call NOTES ... I thought those were the KEYS ... :-D And that BIG thingie ... I think it ain't no NOTEBOARD ... at least they called it KEYBOARD last time I heard, anyways ... ;-)
I also just started a few days ago (on a 61 keys). And most vids about blues/boogie are too hard or the follow ups are going too fast. You got me going 👍🏼👍🏼
This is a great first lesson. Minimal, memorable info. A finger routine that we can tap out on the bus or at work and you've given us the hint of what's to come once it's mastered. Brilliant!
Very nice and simple. I've bought a small piano for my 9 year old daughter and myself a guitar. Hoping she can lean the piano so we can have something together we share. 💜. Thanks
"A pianist's hands are long and slender"
This man: Are you sure about that?
😂😂
That's the stereotype. In real life, musician's fingers tend to be short and blunt. Well, at least blunt. That makes it easier to hit keys, press strings, cover holes, whatever. Not the first time popular myth has got things totally wrong.
Elton John has small hands. Eubie Blake had super long fingers.
Both in a league of their own.
@@chaisemurphy3636 I've got slender and un-blunt fingers. Does that mean I can't be a musician now?
@@gargaduk no, you can but that's about you
