I'm also a big fan of FN Mausers and own a cherry 51 "L" in black paint (as opposed to gray). I believe in collector circles they are referred to as the model 1950. Vanderlinden has a nice write up of these rifles in his book "FN Mauser Rifles : Arming Belgium and the World". Great rifle!

Requested recommendation: generally if you can add also information and stories from using these rifles. Where and how they shot in anger if they did or if not why. How much the troops were satisfied with them and if not then why... Generally extend the historical part of your telling. That what I apreciete the most.
Other than that your show is great. I really enjoy it every time.

When doing research, sometimes this is the hardest information to come by and many times these stories end up being total Fuddlore which isn't good to spread and repeat. I know I have had difficulty with this, and even C&rsenal has problems with this.

I have one of these. Found it at a pawn shop in a sad state. Sourced a stock and remiltarized it. One of my smoothest rifles I own.

Milsurp howdy ...That 1924 looks just like the Spanish 1943 battle rifle in 8 MM Mauser. I just got a real nice one from hunters Lodge. Same every thing . Thanks for the video !

Video idea: I'd be interested in seeing a timeline for each manufacturer. Changes in the model lineup, contracts scored, chenges to the driving people behind the company, interactions with partners and competitors. Like how did the armistice affect Mauser vs Brno?

I just bought at 1951 and it is a great gun. Set up with a slightly modern stock You literally can't ask for a better Bolt action rifle.

Belgium kept the .303 Enfield for training because they had a sh@t load of ammo for them!

Seems like Belgium didn't have the best of luck with Kings named Leopold.

      No issues with Leopold I.
Leopold III wasn't a bad king, but he made some unwise choices.

I saw one about 5 months ago. I wasn't totally sure what it was so I didn't buy it. Also the price was VERY high. It's pretty cool tho!

That is NOT a 1924 Belgian! The weight is different (8.5 vs 8.95lbs) & the caliber is different, as are the markings. It IS a 1950.

You're going to have to take that up with Anthony Vanderlinden.

Another old "K98" clunker.90degree bolt lift 5 rd mag not even peep sights and very slow. Keep it simple, it was a stop gap for Belgium.
