I appreciate your knowledge about my country’s history, i can assure you that not many people here would know about the information displayed here
As Chilean i am very proud of the prussian heritage 🇨🇱🤝🇩🇪🇦🇹
If only we chileans could get our hands on these mausers... good job u guys!
una mierda la ley chilena de armas...... :(

I picked up two Chileans many years ago. One was in original condition, so I left it untouched. The other had been butchered by hacksawing off the barrel, so I went whole hog on creating a custom shooter. The sporterized one has had a dozen major alterations and is topped with an ancient Redfield varmint scope. It is also the most accurate rifle I own.
Greetings from Chile, I just can't believe how much you know about Chile's process to buy these Mausers ❤.
Thanks! Chilean Mausers are one of my favorites.
@@MilsurpWorld yeah I can see that lol, whenever you come to Chile you're invited to tomar onces to my casita ;)
Instablaster.
Chile also had Mannlicher M1886s - the only significant export customer for that rifle IIRC. I own an ex Chilean rifle. Love your channel - keep up the good work!
Bit late I know, back when I bought my Chilean 1895, I was really excited because I found one that wasn't German, or Argentinean. Beautiful gun with the dark wood with a super interesting, albeit dark history just in the markings. It has 5 notches cut out in the wood just under the receiver. Now knowing more about the history of these rifles, my love for this rifle has become greater.
this gives me more of a reason to buy a Chilean Mauser, now knowing the history.
Im looking to trade my 1912 7.62 for an m1 garand, if anyone is interested!
Your channel is one of the best gun channels on you tube.
Fantastic information on little known history.
Brilliant stuff!
Fascinating information. Superbly crafted. 🇱🇷👍😎☕
Thanks.
Congratulations, very professional and complete video.¡¡¡¡, Very clear and detailed. Thanks ....¡¡
Hopefully buying a Chilean 1895 here soon. I'm glad I found this video, now I know more about the gun!
awesome video!!

Just picked up a Modelo 1912 this summer with the original sling all matching numbers except for the cleaning rod. It is import marked by SAMCO. Have not taken it to the field just yet, will have it checked out for go/no go and headspace first. Barrel is shiney and bright with pretty good rifling, over all in very good shape. Thanks for all the info.
I just bought a 1912 Chilean Styer short rifle chambered in .30.06. Thanks for the video it was very informative. I am looking for a hand guard for the short rifle if anyone has or knows of one. Thank you.
Once again, I really like this channel but I'm regretfully thankful that's it's not "mainstream" yet. Those Cabarrellos Mausers are expensive enough. I've only handled one and have to agree. They are super awesome.
AWESOME informative, well-done video! Subbed and subscribed. Keep up the excellent work! One question, what is the "parade hook" on the front "H" band used for, and the extra hole in the front of the trigger guard running through sideways used for? (On the 1912 steyr mauser) Thanks again.
Hope you do another podcast with Will. He’s a huge asset to the podcast. Maybe future podcast do one on Japanese rifles/handguns I know he’s more the French expert but maybe something of that nature
I have a 1912 carbine. It was a mess. It took me a week to get it cleaned and put back together. I don't think it was ever taken apart after it left the factory until I got it.
Same here.
just ran across a OVS marked Chilian 95 with a 308 insert.
love the ww2 semi auto collection ur very lucky
Very nice video and information.. The Germans should have stuck with the flat shooting 7x57 Mauser round with its more gentle recoil rather than the 8x57 Mauser.. IMHO..
Which stripper clip best fits the 1935? Some "7x57" I purchased online don't fit the bridge very well.
I just bought an 1895 Chilean today! Might pick up an 1886 Steyr Kropatschek tomorrow!
Purchased an 1895 that has been converted to 7.62 NATO and wanted to know more about the history. Really loved this video, wish I had your warning before buying a converted 1895, but happy with the purchase regardless. 😅
Fired these 1895 Mausers for years, and never heard anyone having a problem. People have been converting them to many different calibers for years...
I thought the Austrians used the Steyr M1912 rifle. My 1912 rifle was made by Steyr in Austria.
How do I get a hold of a Mauser shirt? Thanks
There's one I'm looking at in my local gun store. It needs a new rear sight spring but it's a really good price
Which model?

I wish you'd do a show on the Chilean FALs?
I just recently grabbed a 1895 chilean mauser. It seems to be restored but I am not sure. Maybe you could check it out?
Love my 1895 Chilean Mauser
Can you do an Argentine mauser video?
I remember seeing Chilean Mausers at Woolworth's in the late 90s for like $80. Should've bought a couple, but I was young and poor.
🤘😜 HI MY FRIEND 🇫🇷 🇺🇸
You must of coined "Prussianization," I couldn't find any reference to this anywhere on the internet???
Is the T-shirt misspelled? "Vertroue in God en die Mauser"
I have several of these- 1895, and 1912 in original 7mm, and 1912-61 in 7.62. My 1912-61 is one of the blued afterwards models, and didn't get the -61 stamping. It seems to have been done extremely well, but still prefer the 7mm.
Is there difference in round bolt face an flat bottom bolt face on these
So I see "1912 short rifle" and "1912 carbine" on a lot of sites. Are these the same rifle? I see some discrepancy getting thrown around with the barrel length too.
Did you ever find out? I bought a Chilean Styer 1912 short barrel Chambered in .30.06, as was described. The barrel is 21 inches. I have heard them described both ways as well. I have learned that they bouhgt carbines and had some long rifles cut down. Mine was not cut but was bored out to the .30.06 that it is now from 7mm originally. I am looking for a hand guard for the short rifle if anyone knows of where I can find one.
I have one, that I would like to sell, but I am not sure what to price it for. Could you please help me with this?
Just got an original 1895 mauser bolt action. Can't wait to shoot it. It's the shorter one

Can the 1912 be blues also? I have 2 Chilean Mausers in mint condition. Both are long rifles with straight bold handles. The 95 from Loewe. The 12 blued receiver is Modelo 1912 crest with the STEYR ASTRIA on the side.
I collect Mausers, and never shot the Chileans. I'm getting old and downsizing . What can I expect for a price?
I read somewhere that Chilies Was worried that the white chambers would make them shinny/ more visible and started having them blued.
There is a 1935 at my local shop all matching nice gun but it’s $1,350 firm on consignment. Maybe I’ll get it when I’m finished with WWII
My Chilean Mauser gets the least respect out of my antique collection but its great to see a detailed video about it to shed some light on it
I got two 1912/61s on their way to me right now.
Very good video. Trying to learn about Southamerican mausers. What do you think it's the best rifle conversion? Chilean 1895 7.62 NATO? Chilean 1912 7.62? Colombian 30-06? Brazilian 30-06? Don't know if there are any other conversions...
Best conversion is probably the Peruvian 1935 to 30-06
@@MilsurpWorld Thanks! I'll watch the video you made.
Also... What do you know about Haitian mausers in 30-06? I bought one a few days ago, and haven't found much info about them.
Very interesting history. I bought back a old pistol from Chile in the early 80's. It has some old history that I would love to learn about. Has some punched artwork that someone did long ago.
Any suggestions on where I can find any info, send some pics to someone? I think its French but really?
Love this clip and want one of those bad.
You can send me pics of it on Instagram or Facebook.

Well do. I keep a Facebook account, its hard but I keep it.
Thanks
I have a Spanish mauser 1916 7mm in good shape and grouped great at 100yrd. Anyone know an affordable way to check for cracks in the action area. Not a 7.62 conversion but it's still an old gun. Thanks.
Try a reputable gunsmith!
I found a 1895 long gun for 400$ I'm not certain if I should buy it or not it's in really nice shape though it is tempting for certain they are very interesting guns south american arms history is often ignored when it's actually very interesting
Love the videos. Have a yugo m48 mauser. I bought a bayonet that fits it yet I cant find any pictures or info to know when or where the boynet was made. Can anyone help?
It's all metal including the handle and the only markings on it is just 540 on the guard.
worldbayonets.com/Bayonet_Identification_Guide/bayonet_identification_guide.html
Thanks. Looks to be a pre ww2 German shortened by the Turkish
check ebay it looks like a german 98 bayo but smaller handle most are even interchangeable .yugo bayo has become pretty rare on the market like i said best bet is ebay thats where i had to get mine .that was like 4 years ago i wouldnt pay over 75 for it tho
@@bmoesucka8619 thanks. Found several sources. The closest I found it's a pre ww1 german "ersatz" style bayonet.
what does the shirt say in English? Good video btw
Trust in god and the Mauser. It's not perfect German, rather Dutch probably from the Boer war.
@@ThePerfectRed Ah ok, thanks.
Afrikaans
Milsurp World at the time would have been called cape Dutch. Same thing more or less with slightly more Dutch influences the modern Afrikaans.
I clicked because I misread as Chinese mausers
The stock disk is a bolt takedown tool that turned out to be a convenient place to print data.
Yeimmy country
"Vertraue in Gott und die Mauser." (Wrong spelling...)
Do you have a source for that spelling? Hard to find definite spellings of Afrikaans.
Suggestion: Hold the rifles steady when you talk about them. You're swinging, slapping, twirling them like a baton twirler. Nice video otherwise!
