    ABOUT BECKET:
Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory
School of Dallas. After graduating from college, Becket moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually went on to become a production designer working with the top photographers and directors in the world on fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for ad campaigns such as Gap, L'Oréal Paris, and Nike.
Finding a new sense of freedom in L.A., Becket also fully engaged in his new life as a gay man. He had a series of many relationships with men throughout the next fifteen years.
In September of 2009, Becket met a stranger at a coffee shop in Silver Lake who invited him to his church in Hollywood called Reality L.A. Becket reluctantly agreed to attend the service. After hearing the sermon that Sunday, Becket was utterly transformed by the gospel and gave his life to Christ. He also knew on that day when God revealed Himself to him that homosexuality was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket was more than happy to count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.
Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences helping believers (and non-believers) understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally, and personally. Balancing grace and truth when teaching on this subject is of primary importance. His goal is to challenge the current cultural narrative about sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular by demonstrating through his personal testimony and biblical truths that, yes, homosexuality is still a sin, and that following Christ is infinitely more satisfying and joyous.
He has lived all over the world in major cities such as Rome, Vienna, and Tokyo.
Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology.
Becket’s book, A Change of Affection: A Gay Man’s Incredible Story of Redemption, with a
foreword by Francis Chan, published by Thomas Nelson, released July 30, 2019.
TBCS theme song by Seth Kaye

Why are feminists so offended by women wanting to be a wife and mother, and prioritizing their family over a career. No one is preventing them from that path.

      @BecketCook
I’ll definitely have to disagree a bit with you on this one and I thought you may have had a bit more of a rounded, considerate and analytical viewpoint.
The “point” he made that is concerning (and I’ll be paraphrasing) is how his wife truly blossomed and walked into her purpose when she became his wife and he spoke the same of motherhood.
His comments on that were too narrow, haughty, ignorant (willfully or otherwise) and dismissive.
There are plenty of women who will not ever marry for all kinds of good, honest reasons (bad/negative reasons exist too obviously, but again, don’t want to be lopsided), and there are those that marry and for various reasons the Married couple can not conceive, there are also some Married Christian couples that also make the choice together to not have children, don’t know statistics on that, but they exist), the point is, it’s not the end all be all, the climax of a woman’s life to be a wife and mother as he Tearfully makes it to be.
      It’s concerning.
Even the Proverbs 31 Woman Sees a plot of land and Buys it (again paraphrasing), a businesswoman, And she even has maids the Bible says.
It seemed almost patronizing when he congratulated the women on earning their college degree and then in the same breath say, Kudos, Buttt being a wife and mom is better, incomparable, when things will become actualized for you.
      Come on now.
There are numerous women in the Bible that God esteems, is well pleased with and it has nothing to do with them being married or not, let alone a mother.
Deborah, Esther, Ruth, woman with the issue of blood, Mary Magdalene, Hannah wanted to be a mom so badly to the point she finally said if you let me have a child I’ll just give them back to you, which is what God desired to raise up Samuel, literally she weaned Samuel and dropped him off at church to live, then God blessed her to have more children 😊, Abigail, the list goes on.
The actualizing can happen at any point in a person’s life outside of marriage, because of marriage, because of a good or horrible marriage, and a woman giving birth doesn’t make her a mother, seen it too many times unfortunately. The emphasis should be on growth and character development and being God fearing and God honoring, not congratulations 🎊, but this is better. Not true and certainly not his place to say.
But I guess it can be argued that he as a man has an inherit bias because God looked at the man and said he needs a woman and not the other way around. 👀
We need each other no doubt, but don’t be haughty or pretentious about it.
Lastly, DV is REAL and unfortunately many many many women have and do take such commentary to heart and stay in very troubling and deadly marriages to uphold that sacred title of wife and mother.
      🙏

O and I mentioned Proverbs 31 woman because some or many go as extreme to say the husband does all the business dealings and she’s to stay home and clean, etc all on her own, but Proverbs 31 woman who the Bible speaks highly of doesn’t uphold those sentiments.

The wicked flee when no one comes but the righteous are as bold as lions. He is living holy and the Spirit is shining through him. He enrages the left because half of them wish they were him or his wife.
He is everything they hate. But one of the reasons it’s so intense is because they really don’t hate him and if he was theirs they would happily stay home but no one asked. And they know inside that he is correct and that’s why it is so angering.

@@DFSLJCEverything Becket pointed out is TRUE. I went back to work after having my children because MY husband wanted a working spouse. It was easier to work outside the home but I was unhappy being “successful” in the eyes of the world. It took a toil on my children and it impacted my health trying to have it “all”. When I quit my job , my children were SO happy. I saw this and though my husband was disappointed, I know I did the right thing. My children were better behaved and they looked forward to having a warm home cooked meal and a more attentive Mom. I cherished being home with my children.

@@Breezy-jq6hqthere are Christian Catholics but not necessarily does the Catholic Church function as Christian. I know and am related to Catholics who’d never belong to any other denomination because they’ve been raised to think it’s your assurance that your marriage is the only one recognized by God. That just being Catholic gets you into heaven. That a pope is their holy father. There are so many works and idols that are not Biblical. If the sincere Catholics that I know would delve into the Bible they’d have questions about their church. Most Catholics I know have rarely opened a Bible and will admit that. Not all. As an adopted child, I couldn't understand why someone would choose abortion over adoption and mistakenly said as much to some relatives. They called my mother and I arrived home to be angrily confronted by her about this. I compounded the error by pointing out that our family was Catholic (I was naive that day) and mentioned that my brother and I were both adopted. I was immediately grounded for two weeks. It was a turning point for me. After that, I started examining the articles of faith, or cathechism pretty closely. There were some doctrinal issues I found that I did not believe and later found a church where the statement of faith was something that I could deal with. Interestingly enough, one of my relatives was a Monsignor in the Diocesis and he knew where I stood on issues and most importantly, why I held those positions, and he still loved me. I know that there are many who do not follow the tenants of their stated faith and that's between them and God. Harrison Butker described my experience very well. I had a corporate job with promotions and titles and gave it all up once I had a baby. It was the best decision of my life - I loved being a stay at home mom and I cherish the time I was able to spend with my son before he flew the nest. I am grateful to my husband for taking on the stress of his corporate job so I could mother the way I wanted.

A friend's daughter had a degree in finance, ready to be a boss babe. She worked a few years, got married, and got pregnant, fully intending to continue her career. When she went back to work after her maternity leave, she walked into the office and said, "I can't do this!", quit, and walked out the door.

This reminds me of how people get mad at the scripture that says "wives be obedient to your husbands". They perseverate on that line without reading the next that says "husband's love your wives as Christ loves the church" (aka be willing to die for your wife). It's clear how much butker not only loves his wife but SEES the sacrifices she makes by staying at home to better their family. Doesn't mean a woman can't or shouldn't work, it just means maybe we should be celebrating a woman who put her career on hold for love and a man who understands how important his wife is and sees what sacrifices she makes. Regardless of what they believe that is a wholesome family who supports each other. And that's the goal for most regardless of views. A loving supportive family who are all willing to sacrifice temporary pleasures for the sake of the others.

As a Catholic Italian quite old woman I'm amazed that this blessed speech in our deranged times is hated by most part of our demented and demonic western society . May this young man and his family be blessed by God 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 His thoughts are mine , too . I've always known that the destruction of the family would bring misery to the whole society . My husband left me and our two children 20 years ago to go with our neighbor and "family friend"... I never recovered , never fell in love again , but the worst thing is that my two children, in their thirties now, do not believe in marriage and struggle to find good partners 😢

Allow me to address this message in a polite way. I listened to the entirety of Harrison's speech, and the first thing that came into my mind was the kind of mom that I had growing up. I have never met any women that even comes close to all that my mom did for me and my siblings when we were growing up. I grew up without a father, our father passed away when I was 4. I was one of 7 children and our mother raised us all on her own. She had a full time job, and she also kept her home in order. She was the best cook I've ever known, my sister's are a close 2nd. The difference between women like my mom, and women that are criticizing Harrison's speech is prioritizing the family. To sum it up what Harrison was pointing out is that what really matters in life is the family. This man was being incredibly humble in saying that it is his wife that makes it so in their family. He was elevating his wife to the highest level of love and respect with such a beautiful compliment, and the women that took it in a negative way don't have a clue what that looks like, to be with such a loving husband. I come from a big family and we are all very close, and it was our mother that made it so! She passed away in 2021 at the age of 93. I am 61, I have 3 kids. My wife passed away in 2017, and I raised our kids as a single parent. I live a good and prosperous life, and raised my kids the same way that I was raised, and I owe it all to God, and my mom! My mom passed away with her family around her. A close family is a beautiful thing, and the Butker family has that! I hope that the independent woman of the world will find that happiness someday and maybe a light bulb will go on in their heads and they'll realize how important the family is!

This man has nothing to apologize for concerning this speech; and it's really troubling that the NFL issued statements against him for it. Me?! In my fallen state, I am somewhat of a beta male; and despite my mostly Conservative views, I have a sympathy, and even an affection, for feminists and strong-spirited women (despite the horrible 'woke' leftie politics of so many of them). But for all of us who profess to be Christian, St. Paul's words must be respected by all of us: Man is the head of the family, and a woman's most Godly missions of to bear children. Mr. Butker clearly reveres his Christian wife, and is not puffed up and overly prideful towards her. He clearly respects her the way a Christ-centered man should, and we all should respect both of them. Amen.

Thanks for your commentary! I’m glad to see Protestants supporting Mr. Butker. It’s so important considering the attack Christians are under. As a Catholic, I know that many Protestants feel that Catholics can maybe be saved, but it’s hard and only in spite of being Catholic. Devout Catholics actually love the Lord Jesus very much. Sometimes we feel The Catholic faith is very misunderstood. We don’t worship Mary. We ask her to pray for us, that’s all. We “pray” to her only in the sense that sometimes a court document will say, “The Petitioner prays this Court to grant this Petition.” That doesn’t mean the Petitioner worships the Court. It means you’re asking the Court for something…. Sometimes we ask Mary and other members of the Body of Christ in Heaven to pray for us. Sometimes we ask members of the body of Christ on earth to pray for us. Christ only has One body and we are just as united to fellow Christians in Heaven as we are to fellow Christians on earth because we belong together to the Body of Christ. That’s what we call “the Communion of Saints”. We are “the Church militant.” In Heaven is “the Church triumphant,” but we’re One Body. Anyway, that’s totally off-topic, and I don’t know if Protestants feel misunderstood by Catholics too, but probably so!!! May God help us to grow closer to HIM , and may God let His light shine in our nation! Anyway, thank you to the Protestant world out there for supporting Harrison Butker. It gives all of us Catholics a very, very good feeling! It brings us all closer together in Christ! Amen 🙏

As a mom of four grown kids, it was my privilege and honor to be a stay-at-home mom. To be honest, when I started college, I planned on being a career woman, but God got ahold of my heart and changed my outlook and priorities. My happiest and most fulfilling days were spent raising my children. I even homeschooled them for many many years until my health was knocked out from under me. But being there for my kids and creating a warm, creative, and loving home for my husband and kids was always my passion. I felt society always looked down on me for staying home with my kids. Yet I know without a doubt that I did the right thing. Thank you both for shining a light on this and speaking the truth! God bless you Beckett!

In my day, 1980s we women were told only about careers. My mom harped on me going back to college which I did even with two kids under age of five. I have had regrets with that. My career was plagued with me taking my anger out on my kids and husband. I do have a small pension now, but I wished I had enjoyed my children more growing up even though I was off for summers.
