Even though this was the period he was starting to spiral, still such a voice when it comes to music and how it reaches and connects people! The Godfather!⚡️🙏

Yes, the godfather himself was still cool and hot even in the mid '80s. Living In America was a gift from above for his longtime achievement.

"Starting to spiral"? James was on top of his game in '86, riding the wave of a huge comeback. That momentum continued for another 2 years with the superb 'I'm Real' LP. He spent time in jail after that which obviously stopped his momentum, but even after that he came back strong with 'Love Over-Due', another fine album. It wasn't until the mid to late '90s that age finally began to catch up with him, and the quality of his records and live performances began to decline.

@@EyeMixMusic Sorry my friend. I disagree with you. I would take James in the late 90’s and even 2000s compared to his lowest performances of 87’ and 88’. I didn’t say professionally he didn’t still have success. But personally he was going through the wringer and it did leak into his on stage performances. It was time for James to hit a wall. He himself even said that.

@@CastanedaCrew4 Here's James performing in Japan in 1986. Terrific show, he moves and sounds far better than he did the late '90s and beyond. Not sure what "bad" shows you've seen??

@@CastanedaCrew4While James himself was on the decline in the second half of the 80s he was largely doing a lot better when it came to his records, at least commercially. Also I'm interested to see when James himself said that.
