A really great list of mods! XD I imagine some mods would add more enemies around, or at least more people in general, so I may have to give some of these a try soon. Well done!
Thank you ! I was looking toward a new refreshing experience of Kenshi and i had never heard of mods like Genesis or Kaizo i'm gonna give them both a try !
Just make sure to not run them both at the same time. Also give Universal Wasteland Expansion a try, it's been expanded greatly since then and makes the whole world much better.
"You Didn't know you needed" - First place, Genisis Overhaul, literally the first mod I read about after buying and installing Kenshi but that weapon mod looks nice, so thank you
I know kenshi is supposed to be entirely about player driven gameplay but i'd like mods that add more story content. like more characters with unique quests, and some quest series, where its a story the develops over a number of quests. It's been awhile since I played Kenshi so maybe some of that is in there but i doubt it from what I understand about the gameplay philosophy. I also know im in the minority though
I prefer Reactive World. Genesis feels too bloated to me, and doesn't really feel like "Kenshi" to me, rather a different game. But last time I played it was around a year ago. Maybe I should give it another try.
That's my entire problem with gensis I love reactive world and basically won't play without it so I just don't use mods that aren't compatible with reactive world 🤷♂️

Also, Slurps will steal your heart (and eat off your legs if you rest in a bed around him). 5. More Waystations/Exploration Locations/Cities -- Bit of a cheat, but they are parts of a whole. Moar places to rest up in/loot/get beaten up in. Nice. 6. Food Storage Fix - Your cook can now take items out of food storage to use as ingredients. 7. Same author did a mod that adds 13 small towns to the Holy Nation. Orkan's Pride now feels inhabited. 10. Steady the Clown -- Clown abuse brings me inordinate pleasure. Absolutely disgusting!
I don't know which mod I picked that made gaining rep much easier. I got 4-6 rep with Shek Kingdom and Twinblades simply by trading and fighting alongside them. Real nice.
With Jewy's limbs, you just need to steal a bandit arm, a peeler machine and boom, you can have a broken cyber army with no costs. Especially with Rock Bottom start. You have a free arm slot. I enjoy it a lot though! Training gear is great but can kill the early game part story telling if one abuses it. Granted, if one does not have a ton of time to play, it can be a timesaver by removing the grind. I like to run smaller nomadic squads of elites nowadays. Hive expanded is a must for hive lovers or hive only players. Is it included in the Genesis pack?
Yes I believe hive expanded is part of Genesis. When I did legend of the dark king series, I spent like 20 in game days late game just to train my lower level people up to par with the rest of the squad and I had like 10 high skill robotic prisoners to train on, yet it still took me hours and hours of healing in between etc. I'd never use it early game but late game it could be solid.
When I ran huge camps with more time, my favorite mod was Prisonner Recruitement. Recruiting bandits, ennemies or living training dummies is a great option to have (especially considering ennemies gain skill too if you smack them long enough). Tameable besties is great too!
I agree, recruiting prisoners is always good. Those Tinfist arms that I showed in the video is actually the real Tinfist that we captured and recruited in our Twitch playthrough :D
I've returned to Kenshi after putting it aside in Beta. Started vanilla and while playing went on to add a mod here and there. Some of the mods I found and thought about getting, but you convinced me. I have left with only one question, are all of these mods compatible with each other, or not? I guess Genesis won't work with Kaizo if they both overhaul, but I guess weapons and animations will? Should I think about getting Genesis if it's my "1st" playthrough in a long time? I must admit that while the world in vanilla is big already, it's still pretty barren mostly of points of interest. Also wonder if it would be a good idea to use something like Genesis on an ongoing save file?
I wouldn't be combining too many mods with Genesis, best you can do is check their workshop page where they outline every mod that is part of it already and the make your decision. The other 9 mods are compatible with each other. Never add Genesis to an ongoing save file because it's just gonna break the game.
I like the Genesis mod I got a lot of hours into it but there is def a lot of "unfinished" feel to it. Some of the cities like Admag do feel better, and Shark; but they're are some that make no sense. Also the removal of a single Waystation in the border zone still makes no sense to me, when they reinstated the one in the grey desert.
@@KokoplaysMB Absolutely. It was sort of a heads up for anyone looking to try the mod; its a lot of fun and I like it; probably 400 hours or so into it. How does it compare to Kaizo? That one is new to me thanks to your video.
@@TyFknGuy Kaizo is less of an overhaul but rather just an expansion of some facrions and bandits. It compares better with Living World and Reactive World than Genesis.

I just don't want to center a play through around the mod to find the world empty and void of content other than place holders and promises of something great later.

"Recruit Prisoners" and "Recruit Anyone" are mods that allow you to recruit people from cages.
What about firearm for kenshi?
Im also curious about how many of these mods play together well.
All but Genesis should work together, Genesis is its own beast though and you should refer to the workshop page for mod compatibility.
@@KokoplaysMB thank you, do you have an idea of mods that work with Genesis well? If not i will look later today happy hoildays
Im new, are these mods will be good for me or bad ?
I'd recommend you play your first game or three without any mods. This way you'll learn what you like about Kenshi and what you don't. So then you'll know what kind of mods will make the game just right for you.
Besides going with QoL mods like Dark UI and 256 Squad Limit I'd say play your first game without mods then slowly start adding them when you see something you like.
@@KokoplaysMB i did it as u say. Thanks for ur recommend.
Is Jewy's Limbs compatible with Genesis
I believe Genesis will have their own version of Jewy's soon, not sure if it works with Genesis as is right now.
@@KokoplaysMB genesis does indeed have an updated jewys limb overhaul integrated into it. Most of the cloned models have been removed in favor of 100% unique models
@@LaVolpeization I knew you were talking about adding them! I need to keep up to date more..
What?even Kaizo+ 3x attack slots already hard and I only have 2 man group right now.
I made my Shanks playthrough, you know what's the starting point I select 😂
Are these mods compatible with each other?
All but Genesis.
6:49 thats a berserk reference
Project genesis gives me infernal loading times, I love it but waiting too much kills the fun for me
When was the last time you played? Loading screens are much better than they used to be a year ago. And I'm sure they'll get better as the time progresses.
@@KokoplaysMB I started to play project genesis like 2 months ago, btw with the compressed textures mod you can partially fix the long loading times
@@GonzaloSilver If your running a MVNE
2.0 SSD - load times are non existant.
Kaizo is for veterans in the game kenshi. The mod turn the game hight dificult.
Can I run Kenshi Kaizo and Kenshi: Genesis together with no problems? Just to make sure!
No, generally you don't want any big mods that change a lot of stuff in the game with genesis.
@@KokoplaysMB I see, thanks!
@@KokoplaysMB What about Reactive World? Can i run it with Kaizo in a semi-late game save?
@@aymanhamida201 Reactive World and Kaizo can work together but I'm not sure how safe it would be adding to an existing save. Make a backup copy of your save file and then try an import to see what happens.
Time stamps?
That sounds like a great idea
and you can make your own mod or simply edit other people mod just to add some function as long you knew what you doin...
different mod have different gameplay story with hundred hours or more playtime...
Very very true
Hehe! And I just wanted to ask you about good mods!
Well I've been meaning to post this video since February and now I finally got to it and finished it :D
"Dab on weeaboos trying to steal your food"
Someone clearly watched Sseth's review of Kenshi.
Respect+
I see you are a man of culture as well
I think your idea of "best mod" and mine are different... The last thing I want is the enemies to definitely make me more dead for a chance of maybe getting a higher quality sword... So have to harshly disagree on #5. I'll take a mod that makes enemies easier, please.
The game is very easy as it is, why would one want to make it even easier?
@@KokoplaysMB easy means different things to different people. For me, easy would me not having to get my ass kicked to level up toughness. Or not having my entire trade party get annihilated by blood spiders in mere seconds.
@@SkySweeperSyn then don't use mods I suggested.
@@SkySweeperSyn then I'd suggest you play something else kenshi in itself is designed to kick your ass and most mods aren't gonna make it easier only harder as thats the main theme of kenshi
@@cameronmayes3648 way to gatekeep lmao. I found mods I like and I love the game, thank you very much.
Please make the music louder
😁
can you use genesis with reactive world?
No, any mods that change the world as much as Genesis and Reactive World would not be compatible.
@@KokoplaysMB okay thanks
Torsolo come here
>make kenshi more difficult
Excuse me wtf lol
Everything in Kenshi can be easily abused and soloed, some of these mods add extra challenges.
blood and sand?!
Blood and sand mixes up too many things that in my opinion should not be mixed. But that's just my personal preference and I know a lot of people really enjoy that one, so thanks for the suggestion.
Its a mod compilation via steam collection. its not really its own mod
@@KokoplaysMB What else in terms of overhauls/compilation mix ups of mods to use that you recommend? i love genesis but it runs like absolute ass and crashes a lot on my machine from the huge cities (ogre doesnt like me it seems), and blood and sand is cool but it can be broken as all hell sometimes
"Mods you didn't know you needed" = browsing the most popular page on the workshop.
This game is UGLY.....And i LOVE IT, the mechanics are awesome, you can literally be whatever you want to be.
My first full gameplay (no mods) was to build a fully functioning base (close to The Hub) and beat the United Cities and "end slavery"
Now i'm looking for new challenges and mods to enhance experience, i do not want to clutter the game too much with the mods.
UGLY??? There's nothing ugly about Kenshi..
@@KokoplaysMB Nah the graphics are ugly, im looking forward to Kenshi 2 with Unreal Engine 4.
I’ve played twice as the prisoners of the Holy Nation, raised a massive army from prisoners and destroyed them from within. Big fun.
How can the 'best mod' be a mod that only makes enemies stronger? It's already an impossible combat system for new players.. Terrible selection (IMO)
I really hate this game.
I am this close to failing, so I had to suck up my tears and-ask my dad to change my steam password.
What? u thought I would delete Kenshi? Ha, no way. I don’t know whether my save will still be there or not
You couldve just looked it up on google lol. Now your dad is never gonna give you the password
