  • In this video we make a quilt to hang on a clothesline outside. A scrap quilt project Inspired by master quilter Mary Fons who hangs quilts on her fire escape for neighbors to enjoy from their windows, who are stuck inside from COVID pandemic. In part one we make the quilt top blocks using scraps of brightly colored fabric.

This is so fun. It's like planning an exciting project over coffee in the morning then meeting later to compare notes and see results.

Did you know that Congresswoman Katie Porter is Liz Porter's daughter? I saw a RUclips video not too long ago. So many connections in the quilting world.

Oooh, that last long strip would be perfect for the back of the quilt! 😍

@@mostlyquilts1386 Yes! I've watched every single one and all the old Quilty videos.
As a matter of fact... I'm a fairly new quilter, so I came to know Mary and Rep. Katie Porter before learning about Fons and Porter. ☺️

I don’t know Rep. Katie Porter, I’ll have to look her up.

Great fabrics, you have the makings of a vibrant table runner with your leftovers. Really enjoying watching this come together. Love from Australia

I can see the confusion because she used to work for a magazine called “Quilty”

@@mostlyquilts1386 And I watched her show called “Quilty” on PBS for a few years. She is so good in explaining. I loved her.

I know Mary Fons as the host of a show where Marianne comes as a guest, not the other way around...........🙋🏼‍♀️🇱🇺🌷
