I’m surprised to say i found myself enthralled! I have never done any mechanical work so I am in awe of those who do. Also very nice mods to your bike! I hope one day to ride a 1000SX and if it’s right, buy one to travel long distances in the USA (where i live). Norway looks amazing!
Been done this to my 2017 versys 1000 and its worked like charm. As long as the O² sensor are 12V, same thread and same cable it will worked, just needed to swap the O² sensor socket.
Looks like Norway! :) I have 33 and 67 error on my July 2017 ZZR1400 PF. I've repaired the fraying (cause of the short circuit) to the cables going into the O2 sensor but still have the error 67. Will try this to clear it! Thanks.
Hi Thanks for this video. It got me out of trouble with a dealer, Traiding in my 2018sx which has Black widow decat exhaust and told dealer I would put standard back on to part ex it while doing this thought it would be a good idea to start bike with fairings of to make sure exhaust was OK. But forgot to plug in oxygen sensor 🙄.

First of all great great video...I have also the issue on my z1000 after wash...I wonder if I will put silicon on the end of the wire it will be waterproof and maybe can solve the problem?
I have the same problem with my z900 2022 (error 33), Do you think that the sensor that you used in yours can work as well in Z900?? Thanks for your video is just great 👍
@@ConnieTh thank you so much for this fast answer,😃I live in Denmark and yesterday there was a good weather so I ride a little bit and then happens, the light on 😵💫 but finally I found your video and is perfect 👍 thanks again. I will see where can I find that sensor.
Excellent work. I have a Vulcan S 650 which appears to have the same problem with O2 sensor. I have just started the diy rout of maintaining the bike and I don't have the right tools yet. So it is at the service center (hopefully under warranty) this time. Would you be able to help with the details of the adjustable torque wrench you are using in this video please ? I think it is a must have piece of tool.
Thank You! 😊 I have three wrenches, 6-30Nm, 20-100 Nm, 40-210 NM. These cover everything on my bike and car. On the bike the highest torque so far has been the front sprocket, believe it was 125 Nm. It should be possible to find one wrench covering the bike alone. Just remember to turn it back to zero after use 👍
@@ConnieTh Thanks. How is the response after replacing the O2 sensor? Do you notice any change in performance, fuel economy and exhaust note ? The Kawasaki spare part is really expensive here (India). There is similar replacement available from Bosh auto parts at 1/3 rd the cost.
@@umeshr3054 I did not drive that long with the error code, but the O2 "sensor measures oxygen in the exhaust, and that value the ECU uses to determine the optimal fuel mixture. Otherwise, your engine will burn rich or lean. Depending on the deviation ... this might cause different problems
@@ConnieTh I get that. Apologies for the confusion. My question was related to the after market O2 sensor part. Was there any difference in performance, mileage or sound of the bike after using the aftermarket part? Just wanted to know your experience using it. The service center official says that the failure happened because I used the bike in rain. I find it hard to accept. Vulcan S is like a baby cruiser. It is supposed to withstand the rain they were mentioning. If it cannot, then there is absolutely no chance that it could withstand a pressure wash. But it looks like it is a part that will fail frequently. In that case I'll go with the after market part from the next time. My bike would be out of warranty by then.
@@umeshr3054 The universal sensor works perfectly on my bike! I just checked the spark plugs and they look nice. Will be making a movie about it soon. There was a noticeable difference in sound after I changed the sensor, it is probably because the original sensor did not work. I mention that in the video. Most likely you will not notice any difference. The problems with the sensor started after washing the bike, and I do not use high pressure. O2 sensor on a motorcycle should definitely withstand water! I was offered repair on warranty which I mention in the video.
no unfortunately but i'm pretty sure you can use any sensor as long as it has 4 wires. I will replace the spark plugs and make a video of the process, then we will see if the sensor gives the correct mixture
I also have the same issue on my bike.. it all started after I changed my exhaust to a full system.. now I feel the bike's performance is very low with the code 33 on.. how is your bike's performance now after replacing it with this universal O2 sensor?
My bike runs and performs as normal, pulls like a train and are very angry! No issues at all. Have ridden 8000 km after replacing the sensor. I have also made a follow up video regarding the O2 sensor.
Measured the resistance between the two blacks on the sensor, should be between 11,7 ~ 14,5 ohm @ 20 ℃, was ok. Assumed there was something wrong with the signal. Didn't spend more time on it. The new universal one has been fine for 106 km so far 😊 Thank you!
