    I’ve been interested in cranes for over 40 years. However, I’ve made a living teaching people to fly helicopters. A crane that strongly sparked my interest was a Manitowoc 3900W operating across the street. Thanks for providing another operator’s view. I also watch the channel To The Top Crane.

      It’s a dream to work with this crane only issue is the riggers being higher than the slew ring makrons some luffer rigs tricky as you can only do them directly over back or side if ya honoreren a rigger your working considerably more at height 🤟🏻

    Finally, I see the operator of the most famous 1750 in the world, in addition, excuse me I have a question for your expertise, I am a 70-150tons range operator in HK, some of us are always have a argument about the “rabbit mode”, not sure it provides effect of the speed/strength mainly..

    • @Cranebrain
      @Cranebrain  Год назад +1

      Rabbit mode with change the speed of your hoist drum and telle cylinder to also the booming up seems fast on rabbit mode not sure if it really does speed it up though

    • @siuchingchan6991
      @siuchingchan6991 Год назад +1

      @@Cranebrain yeah there is no detailed explanation about the “rabbit” in the Liebherr manual, because usually we don’t need to operate with maximum speed, it would be enough without rabbit mode..

    Is that typical when running a luffer on a A/T or crawler when going to lay the luffer down you boom down and luffer down at the same time till you hit a certain degree then straight boom down?

    • @Cranebrain
      @Cranebrain  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah mate best way to gauge it is to keep your first mast in line with your boom ya can’t really go wrong then then once ya blocks off and in the wheels ya just keeping weight in ya f2 booming down luffing up then once ya nearly down can just boom down important to watch that your hoist rope doesn’t get trapped by the tie bars laybing back onto the sections 👍🏻👍🏻

    A sarens driver damaged his brand new 450's hoist rope at Trafford Centre A few year ago, on offset fly - no wheel being normal fly, didn't put the rope and headache ball where you normally would, and to the side. When he was heading back from having just rigged, it dragged the block toward the crane, but because it was also to the side, it pulled the rope OFF the sheave into the retaining bar... and the side of the sheave area. It caused the rope to pull INTO the side plate, which didn't have enough room to the sheave, is the rim edge bit INTO the rope.
    Saw the whole thing, and the INTU lads (who operate Trafford Centre) watching couldn't believe it. Also, no board down on the tarmac, so dragging the non-hydraulic fly for its 40 degree offset damaged the road too. I was LAUGHING.

(... it was low, thankfully, just the roof over the ground floor extension) because I was rigged between telephone wires, and last job was a no-room one with a heavy lift so on 7 falls... This one was just 120kg telecomms antenas so.... had help to keep some tension on the cat-end of the rope whilst I dropped it down right to the one, then tele'd out then derrick to maintaining radius. 50 grove, and left stick was slew ONLY. tele and derrick on the right! so one or t'other.
