Yes the older original version of the Journey had the word 'Journey' on the front of the bottle, and it was not magnetic. I was able to procure a bottle of it signed by Christopher Chong the day it was released in Dubai.

Living on a sailboat in the tropics so Beach Hut Man was my first Amouage. Happy to hear the reasons why this one thrives in the heat so it’s now on my radar for my 2nd purchase. Great review!
Check it out ... I wear crazy stuff all year round but I think Beach Hut is actually stronger and heavier than Journey Man

Fantastic review of one of my all time favourites! 😁 Absolutely love Journey and all it's twists and turns through the day! I have one of the most recent different design boxes with the lettering on the front of the bottle and, at least for my bottle, I can vouch for it still being magnificent, and actually kind of a huge presence on my skin 🐏 Cheers Ramsey!

Fantastic review of Journey Man! I’ve smelled several Amouage fragrances, and this is currently the only one of which I own a full bottle. It’s such a beautiful, spicy fragrance. As you said, it’s not a beast, but it definitely has presence. And I agree that this one does not have to be relegated to cold weather only.

@@RamseytheRam the interplay of juniper berries / incense / tobacco is just so perfect. My bottle has the text journey on the front and the tobacco is very prominent but oh so good
Excellent tribute! For me, Journey Man is a fragrance meant to accompany the experience of life as an adventure, rather than as drudgery. The way it sizzles off the skin makes me smile. It projects loudly at first: I once wore it to work and a colleague asked me if I was burning incense in my office-but it calms down to a lovely, elegant juniper tobacco. Although it is quite a different fragrance, I find that the elusive piney-ness that you mention causes it to vibrate at a similar frequency to Yatagan.

Great review as always. Not sure how but Amouage has become my favorite house lol. I have been buying bottles that at least have the name on the neck of the atomizer. I love Journey Man so much! Still looking to add Bracken Man (so hard to find now) and Myths Man too.
Bracken is one of my favorite modern Fougere...Myths is an insane fragrance, its the type of fragrance Amouage is known for 🌋
It's a great fragrance, really overlooked. It's not one of my favorite Amouages, but it's elegant, it wears beautifully, and a very interesting tobacco fragrance, this and Journey Woman were among the first Amouages I've ever tried. Back then, the bottle made me do it, you mentioned that is beautiful, and indeed, it's stunning! Love the cardamom and the smokiness of this. It's that kind of perfume that it's not really up there with my favorites, but damn, I can't get enough of it! Cheers!

Yes, love it! ...and sold it. One of those that I could sniff every time I walk past the collection, but when wearing feels completely separate from me, or like it wears me more than I wear it, if you will. Sad to say, but money went into vintage Opium, so I'll live. Another great one, Ram. 🙏

Ramsey - this stuff is a solid favorite. I'd been trying my way through a bunch of Amouage samples and this is by far my favourite scent. I reach for it a lot. I much prefer it to Boundless (which I find way to sweet). I layer this with Terre d'Hérmes all the time.
My favourites from Amouage so far are Journey (the top spot), Memoir, Beach Hut, Epic, Fate and Royal Tobacco.

Amazing review Ram, this perfume repulsed me in 2020 when i tested it on a paper strip, but fast forward to 2024 got a vial to test, went to an instant like, it lasts a long time on my skin but has quiet projection,plus the bottle is just amazing 🔥👍🏻

Love your channel. Great review and great fragrance! Have the newer formulation (made in Oman, still in pre-fishman packaging), and it is awesome. This and Opus IX are my favourites so far. Currently waiting for Lineage to arrive. I know it's a new direction for Amouage but I'm a sucker for cooling incense sensation in fragrances. Anything you can recommend?

great review as always, Ramsey. Journey Man is one of favorite Amouage fragrances in my collection. I have a newer bottle with the writing on the front. I would rank it up there with Jubilation XXV, Gold Man, and Overture. I'd go so far as to say I prefer it to Interlude and Interlude Black Iris. It may not have the throw and longevity, but I find the pepperiness, leather and incense so appealing. I just love cypriol, and to my nose it helps elevate and meld the other notes.

Not even close... side effect is a joke of a frag to me.. i have a review of it on my channel

My only bottle projects loudly off my skin or shirt and lasts all day. I feel the tobacco to be a wet leaf and the overall experience is linear, bitter and caustic. Has anyone else felt the same?

I am just wearing an old batch on my right wrist and a 2023 batch on my left. I believe old batch smells a little smokier, richer and rounder. The new one is less smokey and the sweet head notes are a little louder. Perhaps 5-10% difference, I think not enough for selling my new batch but if I could choose, I would take the old batch.

Hey Ramsey awesome video, quick question which Amouage should I buy I’m still a teenager but I love amouage fragrances, I’ve tried jubilation,interlude Royal tobacco. I’ve watched all your Amouage videos and and I’m stuck between overture,journey,interlude,boundless,enclave which would be best for a teenager like me with a decently mature nose?
Journey man gives you a bit of the old school Amouage we love ... Frankincense Resins but with some modern Ambrox... I think its a good concession... but ultimately interlude & overture
Wear them for yourself brother... best smelling teenager in that school for sure 💪🐏
I put this on in hot weather when I plan on sweating. Yard work, anything where I’m going to soak my shirt. Its still super heavy, but not a cold weather scent to me like other Amouage

I actually prefer the new bottle/box of this compared to decants I got a few years ago- it is fresher and easier to wear. I felt like whatever batch I got the tobacco was way stronger and smelled much more mature, and I sometimes don't like the smell of stronger dried tobacco because of certain people I have been around who roll it.
I will say- journey is pretty much at the pinnacle of masculine perfumery. Fresh, rugged, natural, tinge of the exotic.... The first time I smelled it, within seconds I thought- "this is what Indiana Jones would wear." It should be spoken of with the other amouage masterpieces for sure. They better never discontinue it.

Cheers Rams,shockingly I’ve not sniffed this one 😮,don’t know why because it is in my wheelhouse so I will in 2024 😊. Just received Overture Man a couple os days ago ,newest formula and box (same as the box you got your Silver Oud in not the best presentation ) however I do really enjoy it the spices and old school leather are in play fast and I don’t get much ,if any Cognac?? ,probably just me lol .Anyways I do enjoy it and can wear it in the workplace so that’s a winner ,have a good one man , I’m interested for sure in the new Anton Animalia fragrance ,have at it brother lol 😅✌️🙏👍

Amazing this Journey Man. The good old days when Amouage released impactful fragrances that only people with fine tastes could understand and appreciate at their true worth. Chong was an artist, a visionary. This Belgian seagull is only better at profit. He has nothing to do with a perfume house of the caliber of Amouage.
