I was w/ex husband for 18 years to the "love of my life". He gave me everything, I didn't work, stay at home mom, I'd catch him on things and he would convince me w/manipulation otherwise. He'd buy me expensive gifts, vacations etc. to get me to move on from the funk and sticky attitude he felt in me. He was even jealous of me so in a sickening way I figured he was into me and only me. Started therapy where I was introduced to the word Narcist. Read three books on it and bingo.......... I knew I just didn't know why I felt like this man was killing me softly within, torturing my soul. Only I could feel that way when the outside looked perfect. I was beyond broken hearted and honestly, scared to leave him because I was given everything except the most important thing, respect. We have a couple of kids and again, I was unemployed. God helped me survive it all. My life is different, as now (divorced almost 6 years now), kept the house, didn't ask for spousal because I wanted out from anything attaching us (like a plague) I work and do things I didn't before, I'm tired but it's ok compared to how low I held my head. Always seek God for everything. But I value my self worth and my time. You only get one life. Thank you, Leela.... I freaking love you, girl, from way way back......
