We're watching episode 30 now my hubby goes oh boy, oh boy, like a little boy but,he's 69. He just loves cars and watching Ian put his miracles together.
Ian, all these years watching you lay out your thoughts and turn them into masterpieces on wheels or tracks is a much-appreciated glimpse at craftsmen.
So good!! Almost pissed my pants at the beginning when Ian brain was rebooting!😂 that grill for the front is going to be spectacular! The fender is awesome with the built in spoiler! Down force baby!😂. Good stuff!
Love these videos. Ian is truly a great craftsman, without acting like it. And having his wife behind the camera, we get to see that interaction which we can all get behind.
Dude you said something about the space under the folded metal all I could see was pointed tail lens like comets recessed Awesome work Thanks for the learning The crazy old man in the Yucatan
Looking really good. Great to see an insight into the fibreglassing process as opposed to all the metalworking you see on you tube. You make it look easy so obviously a lot of patence required.
Mr. Roussel, just a comment on how much I throughly enjoy you videos, your conceptualizations, your workmanship, your ability to complete tasks, and especially your attention to detail. I greatly appreciate your talents. Thank-you. Respectfully submitted
You can totally add a bit of the resin to your kitty hair to wet it up some and the cream hardener will harden it up with the rest of the mixture. I do it all the time!! Cheers bro looking awesome. Can't wait to see both sides on.
You can use fleece to make your panels out of. You can tack the fleece down with the same resin. You can also use various types of clips or even tape, to hold down the edges to form a base structure . And then fiberglass over the fleece/ material. You can actually use various types of stretchy cloth to make panels. Denim works also but is less stretchy. Just some helpful hints . You can also buy a dry powder ( Cab-O-SiL ) , which you can mix in with marine-grade resin to make something similar to your own version of gelcoat/Bondo. A thinner mixture to make gel coat and a thicker mixture to make a Bondo-ish . Mixing it really thick and make it less pliable than Bondo and more prone to cracks. But, mixing it real thick makes it easy to shape and you can use acetone on a paintbrush to help control the shaping and texture. Use very little acetone to keep the bristles lightly damp if you use too much acetone it can cause premature cracking and shrinkage in your finished product. I was an artist and did fiberglass reproduction work. You can also use a layer of turtle Wax on metal as a release agent for your fiberglass, so you won't have tape lines and you will have really tight fitment.
Ian, I’m glad I found your RUclips. I like your work and the fact you keep your working floor area free of tools and multiple air hoses. Also like that you don’t flit around running all over the shop . I’m probably not going to spend too much time in Nova Scotia any more. Kudos to you and your wife. Keep it real ! Keep it coming!!
The further is goes, the better it gets! Love how the rear fender is shaping up! The front fender came out better than I had visualized! I can hardly wait to see the one-piece front tilt up! Ya know... this could evolve into a commercially available kit!
Watching you do body work brings back my memories of an old school body guy from my home town upstate NY Orange County. He was a artist with filler, could make anything any part angle, we nicknamed him Bondo Bob. 😂😅 I love how you carry on what i call the traditional old school workmanship. I enjoy watching your videos. You are an animal when it comes to Cranking out content.
Watching you pile the initial large glob of fiberglass on the fender reminded me of an old Krass and Bernie cartoon in the old Cartoons mag. they were trying to build an Ed Roth style custom. doing it in small batches was taking to long so they mixed it a barrel and dumped it on, It started caving in the top and they got it to hold it up but it came down on top of them sealing them in LOL
Hours with the Body, and I can't wait, the hours in the fine points, ie wiring mechanics, so many things, this THING, what ever you want to call it, IT'S Going to ROCK, SWEET!...
westport wa. state watching. thank you two for allowing me to play threw. that is play threw your eyes. making air lines sometimes, for me sometimes it just does not do well. and there's a do over. thank you two again.
Working on the boat deck 48ft Kennebunk Downeaster we would do sections of deck 4ft by 6ft law the cloth on sticky resin top it with resin and spritz the entire surface with catalyst. Worked every time!
You guys are great nice job I knew you would come up with rhe coolest idea glad to see the fenders going on with running boards very cool! Can't hardly wait it's like a cliff hanger😮
I love when people say only real cars are made of steel. When Roth discovered fiberglass he went wild. Tell me his cars weren't real cars...haha Love this wild little contraption!
You should tape over the intake manifold ports to keep the dust and grit out when sanding to protect the valve guides. Can't wait to see end results. Keep up the great work you create. Bob in North Idaho.
Garden hosepipe is good for shaping to get fiberglass forms. watch all that weld splatter not gone in the inlets . thinners on a paint brush before fiberglass cured smooths it out save hell of a lot of sanding, its taking shape now.
I know it’s too late but I was hollering but I guess you couldn’t hear me from Palm Bay,Fl.! lol That red trash barrel in the background looked good to me! Great job anyway! I was thinking you should have transitioned the fender down to the bottom of the valance!
Loving the Ian Double U build man the free form is amazing , just putting it out there maybe do some sought of split whale tail blend on rear to match your guards and rear windows maybe like a morfed heart like the retro windows , loving it Simon from OZ
Since I am a novice, iI really appreciate the instructions about body filler. Thanks for the fiber glass tips. Love the front grille idead and now I'm thinking the "needle eye" should have some sort of brake light thingamajig. Great camera work Jamie.
The more videos I watch of your amazing metalwork skills, especially on this project, the more I think you need to change your opening titles from ‘OUT OF THIS WORLD’ to ‘OUT OF THIS WELD’!
Hey man been watching for a long time, big fan. Just wanted to ask have you ever used self adhesive dry wall fiberglass tape, when laying your fiberglass? I have used it a lot. Works good. Just dropping it. Love what you do.
It looks great the metal duct tape works really well. You can shape it first Then glass it. I'm 62 and I dig learning something new everyday. I watched a video today with your friend Skratch he was removing a really big dent on a 50 Ford He made it look so easy.learning curve for me is high on the chart.theres always something to take and use from you guys. It may take some time but if you don't try.why even show up. Great video as usual Take care you two.
The video editing is coming along really well Jamie🎉 Kudos on that Timelapse entró💫the plate bending tutorial was 💰 💰 Ian is truly a master craftsman 🎆
I love your work ian. You are a true artist and very unique. Watching your do fibreglass is exactly the same as finishing drywall. If you want a job in Australia finishing drywall hit me up.

Ian, all these years watching you lay out your thoughts and turn them into masterpieces on wheels or tracks is a much-appreciated glimpse at craftsmen.
I like how relaxed these videos are, as opposed to Full Custom Garage.
And the FCG videos are really relaxed compared to everybody else! 😂
Glad you like them!
I love these videos too. A lot of information about volkswagens and fiberglassing for me. Just perfect!

I will always be back Ian and Jamie...watching your channel makes my day...its a pleasure watching Ian work on anything he touches...😎😎
The mark of a true professional.
Music is nice👍🏻
Love seeing your ideas take shape, and also how you interact with ideas from others.
Ian, it's great to see this wild VW custom build taking shape at last. Looking forward to seeing it progress into final stages of the work. 🎉
Wow, it's really starting to shape up. That's going to be one cool ride made by the one and only Ian and Jamie. She helped a lot too.
So good!! Almost pissed my pants at the beginning when Ian brain was rebooting!😂 that grill for the front is going to be spectacular! The fender is awesome with the built in spoiler! Down force baby!😂. Good stuff!
It’s great to watch an artist do his art! ❤️😎
That was the perfect transition from the fender to the body. Its great to be in on the creative process with you ,thanks .
Love these videos. Ian is truly a great craftsman, without acting like it. And having his wife behind the camera, we get to see that interaction which we can all get behind.
really enjoyed the sped-up sections of the video, lots of fun and it really balances well with the longer, slower segments 😊
Thanks a few great tips , on this one
Ian, really admire your open mindedness to your viewers opinion 👍👏
Dude you said something about the space under the folded metal all I could see was pointed tail lens like comets recessed Awesome work Thanks for the learning The crazy old man in the Yucatan

Learned something new every time I watched your videos. Ian the Legend has done it again. Hi Jamie 👋

Starting to see the real project now. Looking really cool.
Loved the 60s surf wipe out music vibe..thanks Jamie...maybe put a surf board inlay design under the fibreglass gel coat?
Freezing my ACE off another cold day in the show me state. Keep it weird. Can't wait for the Drone footage. Peace Love Ace out
Kudos 👏 to the Editor for the selection of background music 🎶. It's very surfer-like.
Love the comments That you take into consideration... go that way very fast... if the back end isn't flared up correctly... TURN!!!!
A mazing control of the BLOB on the front fender, Ian! And the wire and tape , so simple and FAST.😎
Also, thank you so very much for keeping your program Family-Friendly.
I appreciate you so much. ❤😂😊
Reminds me of the cartoon speed buggy, luv it

If you use turtle Wax remember to use wax remover before attempting to paint 👍
There was a early British Car just after the War, that was made of cardboard covered in Calico and Resin, i can't remember who built it.
@ClickOnProfile1009happy to discuss anything Automotive
Enjoyed watching the evolution of a conceptual designer at work
dig that wider rear flip up!
Great to watch you you have got a great sense of humor

No don't change a thing! That grille is awesome 😎
You just made alot of people happy with your fiberglass class..thanks Jamie for the great video
IAN the pause is called a " CALGON MOMENT " !
I never liked those metal spreaders on curved surfaces, but you do well with them.
I wish you guys the best !! Enjoy these videos tremendously!
Working on the boat deck 48ft Kennebunk Downeaster we would do sections of deck 4ft by 6ft law the cloth on sticky resin top it with resin and spritz the entire surface with catalyst. Worked every time!

Curve on front fender looks about right. Doing the tail piece from the fender to the body could create an opening for the tail lights and indicators.
Nice job editing your a quick learner, bug is going to be really nice when done ❤
Great video I learned smiled and laughed thank you for sharing looking forward to the next one
I love when people say only real cars are made of steel. When Roth discovered fiberglass he went wild. Tell me his cars weren't real cars...haha Love this wild little contraption!
I LIKE THIS SHOW MATE
Love the longer content. You’re the greatest!
You should tape over the intake manifold ports to keep the dust and grit out when sanding to protect the valve guides.
Can't wait to see end results. Keep up the great work you create. Bob in North Idaho.
Engine is trashed
Perhaps the most entertaining episode yet. "Did you just zone out " was funny. I really enjoyed this one.
Watching season 8 here in the UK Ian you sir are a legend 🙏👍
This bug project taught me more about fiberglass than all the How To's I could find. This is my favorite subscription.
Loving the look you are a artist
Love the show relaxed and fun and very informative that you both
Liking the rear wing / small whale tail 👍
