      @@bmstylee why does rogue get hate? As far as I can see I would imagine that there's not even enough fans or funding/support for such a company to exist with all these amazing beautiful structures and facilities with all these different people and moving working parts I mean where is the profit coming from? Is someone taking a hit in the negative to just push the sport because they love it? There's nobody even in the crowd.. they finish a 10 rep 900 pound session and walk back down the stairs to the "dugout" nobody even talks to them or shows support says good job or smiles and jumps around with them or anything it just seems like how does this operate? This only makes sense for Rogue because they are a direct advertiser. They probably lose money producing the show, but use it to sell more strongman and powerlifting equipment as well as to secure pictures and footage for their traditional advertising, help them secure athlete sponsorships etc.
      For World’s to justify changing their business model they would need a huge title sponsor like Nike to fork over hundreds of thousands of dollars. But from a marketing perspective strength sports are still niche so those kinds of sponsors just aren’t there yet.

    what would be the difference between a regular deadlift and elevated? would one be noticeably harder than the other and if so why?

    • @J.c410
      @J.c410 Год назад +1

      The higher the bar is, the easiest it is. It's biomechanics, if you have to lean down all the way to the ground, you cant produce nearly as much power as a rack pull. Standart deadlift height is 9 inch. Your body type will also affect your result a lot. Novikov for example pulled 536kg on 18inch deadlift while only being able to pull 420 ish at the time from 9 inch. Another difference is that suits dont help nearly as much the higher you star from, as the spring effect is basically nullified. But Pavlo is an absolute beast at every height. But if either Haftor or Eddie tried 18inch at their peak, they woyld would hve undoubteldly pulled massive world record numbers. Atleast for Thor, eddie never had anaywhere near as close lockout strength since he used to struglle on all of his 1k + lifts. That's the reason why there are lift from years and years ago of Zydrunas, Brian, Benny pulling more than 500kg on the hummer tyre deadlift. To put it into persective; biomechanic puts aside; the current hummer tyre deadlift world record is arrould 550kg, from a guy with a 450kg regular deadlift. Thor has a 501 + regular deadlift. Biomechanic is also the reaspn why some 95kg powerlifters are able to pull 500kg in sumo style, while a 206cm tall Haftor at 208 kg bodyweict ""only"" lifted 501. Ot's all about leverage. Thor basically has to lift from the fllor, while a more advantages bodytype would allow you to lift from your knees

      Loz tore his Bicep on a tire flip in 2007 (I think the year is correct). When Bobby Thompson beat the American log press record in 2021 he mentioned an unrepaired Bicep tear. Bicep tears are a fairly common injury at this level. If you accidentally flex your arms on a heavy stone pick or a tire pic, e.g., lifts from the ground that should be done with straight arms, it can happen. So yes, whilst individual Bicep morphology varies from individual to individual, having a tear will definitely affect the appearance and often causes them to look shortened.
