@@qwerty_artist An affiliate program is never an MLM, scam, or pyramid scheme if done right. The way to convert affiliate marketing to MLM is when there is more than one tier of commission involved. For example, having people pay to join an affiliate program is when it becomes MLM-like.
This scam goes back to at least the 80s, when you would see commercials where some guy would say, “Send me money, and I’ll teach you how to make easy money.” And then the class would be showing you how to place ads telling people to send you money to teach them how to make easy money.
Technically that is not a scam you described because if that tactic is making someone money it automatically isn't a scam because it did what it said it would do so it's not a good argurment. If this Tate was selling actual garbage money skill courses that make people 0 money than it becomes an actual scam.
Really happy to see you stated objective and unbiased, contrary to characters like Hassan. While I wouldn’t recommend the product, it certainly should not be called a scam.
Why is that? Spender previously attacked Tai Lopez calling him a scammer because he was selling his young audience basic courses with big promises behind. What's the difference with this Tate guy? Oh yeah he doesn't use pyramid schemes so he's all right. Come on man
TLDR: It's basic information, found everywhere, packaged in a nice presenting and digestive way for 50$ a month. If u lazy, sure, sign up and take the course, if not you can find everything they "teaching" anywhere in the internet and skip giving your money to an idiot.
I don’t see a problem in just using it as a starting point. Pretty much every course or class is just a brief timeline of what you should learn in what order.
I mean by your logic, people should just stop going to college and stuff? You can find everything on the internet but the advantage is that you don't have to seaech it up by yourself.
@@RobinXlone Affiliate marketing doesn’t rely on you adding new people to do the same as you. You are just selling products to them for your gain and their pleasure, rather than this system of sign up to then get someone else to sign up. I only say this because you can only do this funnel of signups around 14 times before you run out of people.
@@XavierV37 But they are "selling products to them for your gain and their pleasure" because there's 17 other ways to make money in HU. There's also zero requirement for a new recruit to recruit more people. Its objectively not a pyramid or MLM scheme because there's not multiple levels. Why don't you do something with your life instead of baselessly hating on someone else?
The term "scam" really is a problem nowadays. This isn't really a scam - this is more like "snake oil". It's not gonna get you a lambo, but it might net you a few hundred extra bucks a month. That's the problem; people associate this with a lambo and a mansion when it's really something, like Spencer said, that can just earn you a few extra dollars. Edit: After reading through the replies, "snake oil" is probably not the best term lmao. "Grift" might be more appropriate. Honestly the comment I made is useless, just watch Spencer's video as all I'm trying to do is condense Spencer's viewpoint into a single term, which doesn't really do the video justice. This modern version of what grifters look like is kinda difficult to define using previously established vernacular, as we don't really have a term for "providing knowledge that people can get for free if they look hard enough and making them overpay for it by overselling it with dreams about lambos, with the caveat that there is a chance they make money with that knowledge, but not as much as advertised and certainly without having to pay for the knowledge".
Scam, when used as a verb in the Oxford English Dictionary: "To perpetrate a fraud; to cheat, trick, or swindle." I would not hesitate to say that Tate is being fraudulent and that his fame is ill-gotten. You, however, seem to be using it as a noun: "A trick, a ruse; a swindle, a racket." Here again, I would argue that the "few extra dollars" are trickery by Tate: staying popular by providing kickback to people who promote his popularity. Snake oil is 100% a scam.
Yeah. What people mean when they say “scam” here is “this is subjectively something that seems very skeezy and if you only have $50 to spare this month, spending it on Andrew Tate is probably throwing it away.”
I have seen other videos covering Tate and not having done my own research on him I appreciate there are people out there digging into these things and sharing. Appreciate that you stick to the facts and offer a more level headed opinion.
Respect to you for actually doing first-hand research and gaining clarity for yourself instead of jumping on a bandwagon with the opinions of the masses on the Internet. Knew you were real since I first subbed to you
Well this guy blatantly lied. Tate affiliate marketing scheme is a pyramid scheme. Based on one simple fact that it requires YOU to BUY in before you allowed to participate in the affiliated marketing program. Most pyramid scheme usually have a product as a front to side step regulatory agencies.

15:15 i think spencer missed the point. The hustlers university is more for beginners probably high school, college and under 30. He does have the war room which is where he says there’s more high net-worth individuals
I remember watching Ludwig on this situation and I'm like if a person is willing to pay money to make money what's wrong with that it's better than giving it to streamers where you give money and get nothing in return
This was an excellent piece. It gave a simple overview of MLMs and Pyramid schemes, while fairly reviewing Tate's business model. It feels like I learned a lot in less than twenty minutes.
He just spent the entire length of the video speaking about how this is not a pyramid scheme. But that doesn't necessarily imply that the guy doesn't use deception and manipulation to have kids sign in to his courses. That's the real problem, not whether the guy uses a pyramid scheme or not.
@@fulippuannaghiti1965 This video, as indicated by the title, is specifically addressing if Andrew Tate is running a pyramid scheme. What deceptive practices Tate uses is not the issue being discussed here. Spencer posted a satirical interview not too long ago making it abundantly clear he's not to fond of the guy. I'm not either. Don't get it twisted, just because it's stated that he's not running a pyramid scheme, doesn't mean anyone is giving him a pass.
@@jamesmason7979 I'm aware of the fact that he spent the entirety of the video speaking about how he doesn't use a pyramid scheme, hence the reason why I'm commenting. He just wasted a video to say nothing, whereas he could have exposed him for the lying manipulating snake that he is. That satirical video he made did not really have any impact, at least in my opinion. When it came to Tai Lopez he was much more ruthless in exposing him, hence the reason why I'm disappointed from Spencer.
So Spencer said that Tai Lopez was a scammer while this idiot is legit because he doesn't use pyramid schemes? Hello? Kids really think they will buy a Bugatti by following his stupid basic courses, doesn't this classify as a scam or what ? 😅
I love that you come from an objective standpoint rather than calling the course a scam because of Andrew Tates persona and your personal opinion of him. The world is missing people that can look at things objectively.
So what did it make Tai Lopez a scammer instead? I recall very well that Spencer made previous videos calling out Tai as a scammer, while he seemed to have some kind of sympathy for the bald guy. In my honest opinion the problem is not whether the courses are a pyramid scheme or whatever, but the character behind the courses. He's definitely not a role model and you don't really want your kids to emulate his personality in any kind of way. This regardless if the courses will help you or not to make those 200$ a month, Tate is a manipulative liar who will make everything possible to have attention.
very disappointed on how you didn't even address how Andrew Tate markets his course. the reality is that 99% of his students aren't making money, but he makes it sounds like 99% are making money. He is literally a textbook definition of a fake guru. I'd be no different if I sold sugar pills and claimed they make you lose weight.
I mean. The course is mainly targeting those that are either unemployed, make shit pay, or want to potentially learn a new profitable skill so they can try a new field. If you're happy with what you make and enjoy it, you likely wouldn't be looking to waste the time learning another skill or starting up a business.

@Affiliate Money With Alex lol nice name. I see you are quite desperate for affiliates, guess the university failed you to be arguing on a comment section
@Affiliate Money With Alex The difference is that 50 dollars a month can lead you to bankruptcy as it requires you to still put in your own capital. A college degree has a stop gap loss and if it's from an accredited university then it is recognized by a good chunk of employer so the ability to make money off a college degree is still there. On the other hand, no one cares you took that $50 per month course and then proceed to lose thousands of dollars because you gullibly took advice from some Dingbats that don't even know simple stock terminology and rely solely on watching graphs.
Being charitable here, I think the bigger take way that Hasan & others are trying to say here is that this straddles a thin fine line between an actual online course & something that just makes the creator rich, and no one else. You even admit that most of the people taking Tate's course isn't really raking in the dollareedoos. While we can agree Hasan's call out of Hustler University being a MLM/Pyramid scheme is incorrect by definition, I believe his grander point is that we need to be better aware of BS programs out there designed to waste your time and take your money. Especially from someone who definitely has a lot of shady smoke surrounding their persona. A lot of the "money making" information he's providing can be found on the internet for free; You just need to apply yourself in order to gain said knowledge. In any case, this was a great video & appreciate your perspective as always, Spencer. 🙏🏾
While I mostly agree, I will say that all information for anything is online for free. That doesn’t mean that people will be able to understand and apply the information the same as if they had a teacher organizing and delivering it to them in a way that they understand. That’s what I believe hustlers University is. It’s the information that you can find online for free but someone is still working with you to better understand it and also other people that you can bounce ideas off of. Sounds like a good place for networking
@@tonytouch145 according to Tate's dogma, if you're not strong enough to seek the information, understand it and then utilize it, you're useless. Of course, unless you pony up the money so he can conveniently help you understand it. To me, it's a cop out. If there's something you don't understand, there's still plenty of people who'll help you for less or even free, and don't nearly have half the baggage Tate has. And I say what I say from experience. I learned how to program video games on my own through using appropriate documentation and using Google. And why pay money to network when you can do that for free through sites like Twitter and the like? Again, there's much better and cheaper ways to gain the knowledge you want to be able to make the money you wanna make. Most unfortunately don't have the patience or passion to do something long term; they want it quick and fast IMO. Just me though. 🤷🏿♂️
Its up to the buyer to make that decision. People calling it a scam are just jealous losers who hate capitalism. In a world where damn near everything on the internet is free, Tate figured out how to monetize himself. He created something of value to the people willing to pay for it. Plain and simple. If he doesn't deliver to his customers, they'll bad mouth him online and cancel the course. That should be how it works. No one's missing a mortgage payment because of him, so who tf cares? If hassan put in the work and utilized the exact same model as tate to promote himself and content in addition to developing his own course on how to be a snarkier wise guy, I would applaud that.
@@bigjosh9364 I think there's a "forest through the trees" moment that you should consider. It's quite easy to dispel anyone as a "jealous loser that hate capitalism" because they're pointing out vagrant issues and behavior that matches up to the behavior of known scams like Herbalife. Your statement here boils down to "let the market decide", but we've been down that path already. Common sense should tell you by now (especially with the last 30+ years of the stock market being open) that what the market decides isn't always right and isn't always sound for the security of the consumer. A lot of the information Tate is charging you for, you can get from better sources than him, for a lesser charge or even for free. Spencer even called out the fact that most of his teachers in the program haven't shown any sort of credentials that backs up their expertise. Nothing super public in either way. You can argue that "the results speak for themselves", but even as Spencer mentioned in this video, more than likely, most people in this course is barely covering living expenses. I haven't seen even 5% of the over 100k people in this course really display their lifestyles have legitimately leveled up. IMO, You can dress a pig up in makeup, but it's still a pig at the end of the day.
Andrew is simply taking advantage of people's greed and blind trust. The term scam is thrown around too much, people nowadays are just too greedy, and more and more people are taking advantage of that.
@John Haney It's just the desire to improve. This guy likely hates Tate feels the need to ascribe some negative connotation to those who buy his programs.
I know Spencer covered this but I think where it starts to push into scam territory is the stories he tells. Making up a story about his life being in danger and turning 70000 into a 100000 gives a false impression about how much money the average person can make. Making up stories like this gives a false impression about how grand his life really is. Kind of implying that your life can be the same way if you buy his product.
The Guardian just announced that their affiliate program has been shut down. The host service they were using for the course stated it violated their policies. They also claimed in a review of the course that they found students were being advised to actively promote Tate to promote signups and affiliate revenue. None of that sounds fishy or 'crosses the line' into illegal territory for you, Spencer?

@@qwerty_artist An affiliate program is never an MLM, scam, or pyramid scheme if done right. The way to convert affiliate marketing to MLM is when there is more than one tier of commission involved. For example, having people pay to join an affiliate program is when it becomes MLM-like.

Dude it is a scam when that stupid tate promote it as a lambo lifestyle and over promises and under delivers with lousy course materials.

Its a pile of crap the poor pay a rich guy in the hopes of getting a quick buck

I have never watched and listened to anything this Andrew Tate fella has ever said. I feel good about that.

Hasan criticizing people for scheming is hilarious
The best part is that he's a communist commenting on economics. Thats just so rich! ;)
@@sole__doubt he's a socialist, not a communist. Come on, at least be smart when you try to diss someone.

Would be a hilarious troll if you had an HU link in the description 😂
You know spence, when I saw the first wave of tate videos , I was thinking the whole time, the only video that matters will be Spencer's because he will tell it unbiased. I already assumed that despite his character, you probably can relate to that level of dedication and hardwork. And when you posted the first Tate mock interview I thought wow that's not expected but i realized then everyone was feeding into tate exposure and your video stood out at the moment because everyone else was like hate loving and not really getting into specifics of his business structure. which made me think maybe spencer is doing the opposite of what we thought he would do because he didnt want .to feed the tate ego/ exposure train. But of course I felt lacking at that moment because coffee put out his and as much as I like coffee, his analysis is not o objective/ without bias.
So when you posted this, I was also glad because in a way i was wsiting for your take. Its weird to hear you say your fans wouldnt like this video, I feel like the die hard spencer fans like myself absolutely understand you and appreciate all your work and views. Those who dont like this video or expect you to call it a scam, dont really understand the true value you provide. And for those people, if you are looking for a yes man, spencer is not a yes man. Difference of opinion helps people learn, and spencer stays true to being transparent, unbias. No echo chamber here. Spencer gives truth and realitu. But I def understand what you mean about your fans expecting, because I def was expecting the business analysis before the mock interview and j thought there was a chance you might not post. But whatever you do, majority of your fans will love. .
