Brain's voice is like honey. Rich and soothing. Beautiful to listen too. I hope he heals his gift, because it would be a loss for all of us if he were to stop singing.
I remember watching a special on MTV when they sang INBYH a cappella and my mother walked past and looked at the tv. She was like "that's what the one with the husky voice looks like?" She was talking about AJ. I don't know what she pictured him as but clearly it wasn't a skinny white boy wearing sunglasses 😂😂
I recognize NSYNC's talent singing (and also doing acapella) cause their specific roles were well structured. But I'm always loving BSB's voices being all over the place. I mean, I can't believe how many of their songs have a note up (lots of them), how they sound great together (their voices fit perfect; not that Nsync didn't tho) and how much they look like a family. Also the fact that I can hear them sing at least one little verse in some songs (which Nsync lacked, being JT and JC the main voices, and would've given them more to show off, IMO). Also the fact that BSB songs really sound romantic for any ocassion.
NSYNC was definitely that perfect arrangement together with their tenors, baritone, and bass. The blend definitely gave them an edge in sound which BSB lacked. Their voices were much similar which is why they could all could share lead at some point and sound wasn’t as complex (sounds great tho)..

If anything, it makes them smarter because they focused on blending the harmonic support that was crucial for songs. Also, Nsync was never trying to fight against one another for a lead (unlike most boybands), which says a lot about their individual characters too! And just because a singer can sing lead, doesn’t mean they should (Nick & Howie for example), because the wrong kind of lead/ lack of supportive vocals will either make or break a song. Joey has fantastic vocals, much broader range Justin can only dream of (and we all know Justin cannot belt even if his life depended on it). Joey sounds exactly like Billy Joel! So if Joey is a much better singer than Justin, why didn’t he really get leads? Simply put, Joey’s vocals are much more important to be the supporting Baritone to keep Tenor parts back into focus of a song! Joey’s voice is great, just not for the type of music genre Nsync was focused on (pop/ lite R&B)! Justin’s voice fit the pop music genre better (hence why he did very well with up tempo songs). He definitely is not the legendary 4 octave range vocal beast that is Mr. “Spicy White” JC Chasez-McKnight!😅 This is why Justin went with the flow and always had JC carry the complex bridges to their songs that involved sustained vocal gymnastics and belting! Justin can never pull off sounding good trying to belt (hence why Justin focuses on falsetto). Nick Carter on the other hand, would force himself to belt, therefore ruining a song! This not only caused distress on his vocals, it would fatigue him throughout the rest of their live performances after he does this! The key is, know your limit! Nsync was also blessed to have the brilliant Robin Wiley as their vocal coach! She not only taught each boy how to know and accept their vocal abilities/limitations, but she also ear trained them to LISTEN to each other’s voices so that they can figure out how to harmoniously blend their vocal ranges/ timbre effectively for each song.
