I gotta say, seeing Ramiel's beam hit the mountain peel the topsoil back like chicken skin then vaporize to plasma half the mountain, is probably the most impactful scene I've ever watched in Anime. Ramiel didn't simply vanish the mountain, you can watch the mountain come apart in layers, like a jawbreaker succumbing to a blow torch. But it only lasts a second or two.

With geometry though, it’s implied that, rather than being unknowable due to darkness and mystery, it’s simply above our understanding. Not hidden, but complex beyond what we can grasp. It’s unlike anything we’ve seen in the natural world that we would expect to be scared of, because it’s not like anything in the natural world, and it doesn’t have to conform to our fears to be terrifying. I went on a bit of a rant, but I really like the novelty of the idea
Ramiel was probably the most difficult to handle, but I wouldn’t say it’s necessary the strongest angel. They had a difficult time because close quarters combat wasn’t an option, which was their main method of defeating angels. Edit: I will clarify, I do believe Ramiel is one of the strongest, probably 2nd or 3rd at least, but I’m just clarifying that it’s specific abilities made it the most difficult for NERV to deal with.
I don't know about the lore of evangelion but i don't think angels are gendered, at the end of the day they're just giant immaterial masses full of eyes and wings, a lot cooler than your tipical pretty humanoid boy with golden locks and pigeon wings.

Ok real talk the geometry of ramiel completely convinces me of my theory that the angels are actually higher dimensional beings meaning that they only seem so unstoppable due to us only seeing the 3 dimensional cross section, my theory goes along the lines of how in order for ramiel to “move through itself” the way that it does and how it can seemingly become larger or smaller without the missing matter being visible leads me to believe that its actually moving that matter through a dimension higher than our 3 and a separate one from time which makes it seem like it doesnt exist to us
In other words, we're only perceiving a 3 dimensional slice of a 4 dimensional being, pretty much the same way a 2 dimensional being can only perceive a slice of us in their dimension.

Rebuild movies are weaker than the original as a whole imo. But Ramiel fight is probably my favorite in 1.11. I love that the animation team made full use of CGI to enable Ramiel to shapeshift making the fight more dynamic compared to the more static one in original.

I've been watching the series for the first time and I have found a fix for angel anatomy/makeup, more specifically the noises they make, so I'm just theorizing 😆 Might not make sense I believe it screams because of the fact that in mythology, Ramiel is one of the 20 leaders out of 200 fallen Angels, who are considered such because they mated with human wives, hence the woman voices. Ramiel is also the carrier of divine visions, which you can probably figure out what that might mean in this sense. They scream because they've been associated with this angel as mortals that they've evolved to become one with Ramiel and perhaps maybe use their strong voices to fire beams of light as an attack (this is sort of a stretch but bare with me). Ramiel is also technically is the strongest, if not second strongest, of Adam's children (emphasis on that since most angels beyond 2.22 are not Adam's children), so it would make sense that it would use the best techniques to complete its task, along with how they play an important part of the storyline and general plot, so an important part of a certain topic in mythology that's used in such a unique way is something to note

My question is that if Ramiel were a 4D entity, would they be a 24-cell, or a 16-cell? The latter is also sometimes called a 4-orthoplex, while the former has several names including "hyper-diamond." Both are comparable to the 3D octahedron in different ways. If Ramiel were more than 4D, then the only options would be the n-orthoplexes.
Always loved the sound design for this angel. While overall the sound design for Evangelion is crazy good, Ramiel stands out for me. The approach for the manipulation of the recording is rather simple, what makes it special that it breaks a rule, usually you are supposed to avoid being too "musical", so you want to avoid tonal changes that are perfect, or have two main sounds at the same time which could be described as intervals (sure, needs some stretch, but its there). This just enforces its visual design so much, whoever did this must have had this goal in mind, and it works so good.

Always loved the sound design for this angel. While overall the sound design for Evangelion is crazy good, Ramiel stands out for me. The approach for the manipulation of the recording is rather simple, what makes it special that it breaks a rule, usually you are supposed to avoid being too "musical", so you want to avoid tonal changes that are perfect, or have two main sounds at the same time which could be described as intervals (sure, needs some stretch, but its there).
This just enforces its visual design so much, whoever did this must have had this goal in mind, and it works so good.
